@@m-stat9 hi, I actually bought the sc live 4 but unfortunately, it really wasn’t for me and I sent it back. So, I've been using the SC Live 4 since December now, and I have to say I love it. To the point where I'm selling my Prime 4. I'm a bedroom DJ these days (throwing a party here and there - I've dj'ed for over 15 years back in the late 80's and 90's until I got married, kids, etc.) and this controller is just perfect for me. I don't have enough space to have my P4 ready to be used at all time. And having to plug it to speakers, etc. is discouraging when you have 10-15 minutes to spare on quick mixing and/or scratching. The SC Live 4 is almost perfect for me. I switch it on, and voilà ! I can have fun for a few minutes. It has all the bells and whistles that I would expect: a more standard club layout (never been able to really enjoy the P4 layout), integrated wifi with multiple possibilities, a small but great touchscreen, usable and convenient information on the jobwheels, a descent crossfader for scratching, 4 channels, pads, fx, etc. to work on my creativity... and can easily be brought to bigger venues thanks to its okish connectivity. The built-in speakers are really good for my usage. I've tried them in a tiny party with some friends and frankly, they were great until we needed more "umph". IMO, don't expect to throw a party with them, even if it's only for a handful of people who want to dance. It certainly is more "plasticky" than the P4, but it doesn't feel cheap at all. I'll keep my Rane One when I need a more turntablist session to remind me of ol' good times, but for everything else, the SC Live 4 is exactly what I need to get back into mixing/scratching during my precious spare time. And if I need to DJ at the few parties I go to. For someone who stopped DJing in the early 2000's, I have so much fun discovering how creative this piece of equipment allows me to be! Gosh, I wish I had that back in the days when I needed to be mobile!
Great review. im a full time Wedding and events DJ and tried the various pioneer RX models before moving to the prime 4. Which was an absolute game changer and being able to completely remove the laptop and also stream was incredible. The prime is probably 4 years old now and several of the buttons (including the really important view button) have deteriorated and even fallen into the casing. So I was basically looking for a back up to cover the prime going away for repair and service. This actually ( although I initially poo poo'd the idea of onboard speakers) looks really perfect for the price point. There are things I don't use on the prime at all like the zone output or the entire effects panel at the top. So the effects down the side of the mixer are very welcome. The speakers had me worried but you know what. i don't normally set up monitors when I'm mixing at weddings so the added benefit of being to pop them on for a quick check if it gets a little noisy are actually quite a useful idea. I think I'm sold... cheers
Did you buy? If so, what it at least decent compared to prime 4? You said there was lots of features on prime 4 that you didn’t use. Including the effects at top of the device. The main think that is stoping me from buying prime 4 plus, is the fact that the effects are at the top of the device and if I bought it for £2000 and I was unable to reach the effects knobs, I’d be gutted. Or maybe I can reach them but because they are at the top/back of device, will be too difficult to know what knob does what, because it’s so far away and I can’t see the small wording. Did you not use the effects on prime 4 because you simply didn’t want to use them? Or did you not use them because you couldn’t reach properly? Or could reach but can’t tell what does what, because you can’t see? If effects was down side on prime 4 like sc live 4, I’d deff buy it.
I have been a DJ since the good old times when vinyl was big. A few weeks ago I bought one of these and I love it. The build in speakers are a great feature to put the console anywhere you like. This is the first Denon gear I have ever owned and it is great. Thank you for the quality review.
You can regulate the range, to 8-10-20-50-100. It is done by pressing shift + pitch bend buttons, or from the configuration menu, you can deactivate the pitch bend function of the buttons, and use them directly to change the pitch range, this is how I have it configured@@ShaunMagooMcGowan
@@craniumjunglist8934 No, external devices cannot be connected, except for an auxiliary that is controlled with one of the microphone gains, specifically microphone 2, so external turntables cannot be connected.
I've been looking into standalone units more and more, Denon has so much more to offer than for example Pioneer which floats on its "industry standard" boat with not much innovation. When it comes to speakers built into the deck it gives out a feel of a "party toy" rather than pro equipment, they would fit better in a product like Denon Prime GO - portable with battery power. Thanks for the review, I'm considering swapping my SX3 to this one.
I’m thinking of upgrading to this from my DDJ-400s. The pads and effect button are the same where they’re clicky and the streaming being built in is so good! It’s just the price is so much for me as a uni student! It’s just the 4 channels and streaming is what I need.
Automating lighting control is a nice feature. Definitely going on the list of things to upgrade to. I'm just getting back into DJ'ing. I'm used to a rane 4 channel mixer, 2 cd decks and 2 mini disc decks with no bells and whistles from back in the day. Learning now the modern tricks and tools using an entry level pioneer controller.
I'm using the onboard lighting since about a year ago and I can tell that it is the best ever feature I have seen so far. It never miss a beat, automatically pulling the script for every single tracks. I love it. But, you will need at least a USB to DMX dongle and fixture added on your laptop to get it working. This kind of minimal setup is not really explained anywhere. I might make a tutorial...
@@MrThomAceI hear there’s few different lights in general. I see gamers on RUclips have the lights around their room, in pc etc but I have absolutely no knowledge of such device. What is the cheapest lights I could buy to go with Denon sc live 4? Or maybe all these types of lights are fairly cheap? I just never had any of these kinda lights and think it will be a bit of fun, having them synced with the Denon sc live 4 in my bedroom. Would yiuve so kind as to possibly share some amazon links with me, for lighting? I just have no clue and if there’s many different types, I won’t know what are good .
Hi all, i was using a FLX6 some months ago, i adquired this product. Must say the speakers are some personal use for bedroom, right. But i am impressed with the solid build materials rather than the plastic of the FLX6 product. Atm happy with this. I was looking for a standalone product and this product fits my needs perfectly, for use in small parties and for my personal use, perfect product.
Great device and THANK YOU for your amazing videos as always! Definitely not enough for me to upgrade from my Prime2, but I understand that's not really Denon's intent here.
I use SC5000 and X1800 and they are still great after many years of use. This SC LIVE 4 would be a great replacement if one is thinking of downsizing but wanting to keep the same similar feeling.
If the speakers are the same as the mixstream pro there a great addition for a quick mix or just playing some playlists whilst chilling you wouldn't exactly use them in a club setting or party setting I like the design and the feature set denon is lightyears ahead of pioneer atm with engine os
Moved over to SC Live 4 from Traktor and the Kontrol S2 mk3 - because this is for me the perfect home setup to practice for a standard club setup, like CDJ and DJM. Can’t complain for now, I’m just baffled how userfriendly this thing is. Plug in a rekordbox USB stick, and ist just reads it, including cues and loops. Someone’s really done heir homework :)
I appreciate your take cause i am trying to grt away from always using traktor. I have xdj700s and an S3, so i don't need flagship pioneer cdjs. Im debate between SC Live vs Prime 4.Do think the SC Live does the job without spending an extra $600?
@@HALFAMAZINGTV Depends on what you're aiming for - the Prime4 has more of a effect/controller layout, but a couple of extra outputs. If you don't need them, it does a great job!
Dennon has always been above the rest as far as I am concerned. I used to own the MC6000 and am looking at getting back into the mix. This will be a tremendous bang for the buck.
Rekordbox analyzed tracks will work on this unit. I have done so personally. And I think it’s great to have a layout like pioneer. Healthy competition will force innovation out of them! I have this controller and it’s awesome.
Interesting! I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now! So glad they went with the effects next to the mixer this time. First I was happy when pioneer launched the rx3, but seeing the price, and the fact that it still misses options Engine has, it’s a no for me. I think this could be a great update for many Rx2 users, if they weren’t to clingy to pioneer..
Thank you for the time you took making this review. I appreciate it. This looks and sounds pretty badass, lots of features and all. Im just starting out with the Rev 1 myself🙃
Great video as always guys. Good to see brands pushing in different directions an expanding their ranges! Not sure why people have to moan about it? If u don't want it then don't buy it 😂 to me looks great as a device capable of having your phone plugged in or streaming SoundCloud for you and your mates an still capable of hooking up to a bigger system 👍
Owning a traktor S4 for many years and a pioneer XDJ RX mk1 for the standalone features really helpful for my weekly residencies, i was planning to go to the XDJ RX3 because i love the track preview and the Pioneer fx layouts. It’s so convenient on the S4 and quite good on the RX3. I was also lurking for the Prime 2 now that engine os got the track preview, but hesitating because of the fx layout. It looks like the SC Live product line have combine all the features i love with Traktor and Pioneer, and for more than 1000€ price difference…1300€ for the SC 4 vs 2400€ for the XDJ XZ (without track preview and need of a computer for 4 decks use) or 2100€ for XDJ RX3 with track preview but 2 decks. I’ll just wait a bit for feedbacks about firmware stability and system crashes, i can play sometimes up to 8h straight and can’t afford to reboot the controller every 3 hours. Thanks for your review, it’s clear and explain everything we want/need to know before emptying our wallet.
Really don't understand the hate just because there are onboard speakers. You can turn them off and use your own if your not keen. This is a very well priced 4 channel unit and I've just bought it 👍
this is pretty much what I want to see from pioneer. A compact-ish 4 deck standalone. I don’t need full size cdj jogs or full djm900 mixer I/O. But playing rekordbox usbs is a must for me.
Omg did they remove the artwork from the jog displays or it is still possible to set it through software? That is very nice feature, hope it's not removed...
Looks good..dennon is always ahead of features wish they could make the jog wheels bigger..that would make a big difference..not big fan of speakers but it helps specially if in ur bedroom and practicing...overall looks a gud product..
I own a XDJ-XZ but I love Denon gear. I was hoping for this to be an upgrade from the Prime 4 which I usted to have but sold it because I didn't like the layout and controller style. Thinking on getting this one, but I'll give it a wait and see if Denon comes with a Xdj-xz killer
@@grahamkelly8662 not at all. I have sold it one month later because if you want to switch from controller to pc you have to restart the controller. Unbelievable thing for 2024 controller
@@DjPietro oh, that’s not good. Do you know if it’s possible to simply put mp3 on usb stick, plug in and play? I ask this because I don’t have a laptop so I can’t use Serato etc. Apart from the issue you mentioned, was the device actually any good? Speaker quality? Mixing ability?
@@DjPietro oh don’t say that 😭 I think I’m just going to go to an actual store and try a few devices. All in 1 controller, regular controllers and 1 or 2 cd j . I’ve been stressing over this crap for weeks and I just can’t be spending £1000-£2000 and possibly end up not even liking it. For instance, I’ve only ever mixed on belt drive turntable for a few months, to practice and then technics 1210 for many years, so I don’t know what any controller, cd j etc feel like. Watching videos on this Denon sc live 4 it kinda looks nice if not cheap, has many features but I dunno. Like a part of me thinks what if I spend £1000 on this and it feels like a toy and not fun to mix with. i guess I’ll either make my mind up or be in limbo, forever 😭 anyways, I appreciate your time. Oh, out of interest, did you buy a replacement for the Denon? If so, did it work out better for you? I almost bought that Pioneer dj xdj xz And I think that is what I’m going to try out , in store but again, it also has shortcomings , like the Denon and pioneer cost just over £2000 Even tho pioneer seems to have less then Denon, I still think overall quality will be better and that will make the experience feel much better.
Everybody hating on it, but the modified layout alone adapting to closer cdj mixer setup is a selling feature. Remember how ddj 400 sold so much just for this reason.
I'm hesitating between the Denon prime go and the sc live 4. I don't care about the battery of the Prime Go or the 4 channels of the Live 4. I want durability and quality of construction and sound. The response in the pads and space in the cross fader. Is there a difference between the SC Live 4 and the Prime Go? Thank you
I'm that "Denon FTW" guy...SC6000, LC6K, x1850, Prime GO & Prime 4. At that price point I don't see why any existing Denon user would opt for this vs anything in the Prime series
This is reaching the beginner market with a lower price point. It is a downgrade from the prime series. But can still be used by anyone who wants it. 1300 dollars is still expensive though. I have the prime go and prime 4, as well as the mc6000 and mc7000. So I do not need it. But can recommend it to someone stepping into the game because of all the features.
That actually looks nice! I felt the Prime 4 needed a refresh to match their 6000 series aesthetics. This ain't it, and may not be as feature rich, but at least it isn't gaudy looking.
"competitors"... gotta love review language always (understandably so). Regardless, I think it's cool to have go for a "pioneer killer" lineup as well as maintaining their unique designs - hopefully that will help bridge the gap and convert more people over, chilling away at the monopoly in the market. Looks like a good product for the price point too, especially if one is looking for a pioneer-esque layout with standalone use but prefers not to pay extra for the actual pioneer stuff
Wow..no sample button? I guess i could use decks 3 & 4 to load a sample to scratch with. Not a bad unit at first glance. Possible upgrade to the numark nv2 which is still working well for me.
Just wondering how my DDJ-XP2 will work with this? I imagine if I am using Serato then it would work. Probably not so great with the denon DJ Engine. I hate that Rekordbox went to a subscription, but I will probably stick with Rekordbox and the large monitor that I use with my Mac mini. Thanks for the demo.
This doesn't seem like an upgrade to the PRIME 4, which I own. It seems to be an effort to reduce cost while improving the layout. The effects location is much better. However they've reduced the size of the screen AND put the effects information on the screen rather than them having their own screens. I like it but I wouldn't downgrade.
I have the MC7000 also. And the MC6000 still love them both. But I know use my prime go for picnics and corporate social grand opening events and Prime 4 for Dance parties.
Hey there, can you play tracks on the SC Live 4 directly from USB without using Engine Software? And if so, how does the screen look, does it has the same views, or is the screenview limited? Thanks in advance for your reply! Grtz Jerome
Good review as alway by Jamie and the guys at crossfader 👍 As a prime 4 user this doesn't appeal me mainly due to the on board speakers.. The pioneer style FX layout or "industry standard" is a downgrade Vs the 2 banks on the P4. Larger screen etc all makes me feel happy with what I have as this feels more like a downgrade. My dream upgrade would be the SC600M, only for scratching on the lovely big jogs. I wish Denon would release an update so play/sync up my technics standalone without a laptop and time vinyls. Maybe ?? Are you reading this Denon??
I have a denon prime and this is intruiging for a 4 deck, and monitors, all of it seems - more fun in terms of bringing it around. Can you put the fx on multiple channels? I still love my compact denon prime go I don't know if I would replace it I do want a 4 deck denon. Has this won over the prime 4, for me personally I don't know yet.
So question @Crossfader you don't need to connect these to any speakers right? Can also just be plug & play via usb no problem and you'll be able to hear it?
Thanks for nice review. Can i use live 4 with my mac while playing? Reason is i want to see my songs on my mac’s screen while playing. Looking for a song in 7” onboard screen not ideal for me due to my eyes 🤓
Yes you can but the main purpose of using these new denon controllers is to get away from using the computer. But you can run serato or virtual dj from your computer through this controller.
Thanks. I think this is sort the young bros to the Prime 4/2 aimed at sitting in between the Prime Go and Mixstream and Prime42/. Seems to me/would you say the fx set up here is better than Prime 4/2?
The prime 4 still outshines the competition for a smaller price. There is no reason for a new version yet. I am sure they have one in prototype but they are better waiting to see what the competition does before adding a replacement. Short of reworking the fx position and a os improvement there really isn't much for them to change.
@@thehumangerm I agree, I do know that prime 4 mk2 will have the amazon chip like the sc live contollers but other than that would be interesting to see what else they implement on them when they do come out. My prime 4 has been running excellent for 3 years no complaints. If they come out with a Prime 4 MK2 I will sell my Prime 4 back to guitar center and get it. I use my prime go for small events. I gave up on Pioneer due to there money grabbing sales tactic. Add a new feature on new gear only, unlike Denon who puts all the features DJ's are asking for on one machine and continues to add more. So I am sure the new Prime 4 MK2 will be full of features DJ's have been asking for.
When holding the jog wheel and holding the beat to drop it to mix, does it feel like using a 1210 direct drive in quality feel and instant start up? Or does the jog wheel feel poor quality like mixing with belt drive ? How’s the feel? Great or bad? It needs to feel direct and nice.
Few questions: How do you the remove que start once you’ve set it? Change auto loop setting so that instead of pressing at the start of the loop for it, you press at the end ? Edit tempo slider so the key locks and doesn’t change as you change tempo ?
I'm not sure if you covered it but to half the loop I've noticed you have to turn the knob is there a way to have it or quarter it by just pressing a button? Please excuse me if you show this
Do you know if you could expand upon the decks using something like the denon LC6000's I'd love to have a four deck set up for when i'm out playing shows and just a simple 4 fader two deck switch for the studio. Thanks :)
Denon should make a 4 channel Serato controller with large jog wheels like the SC6000. I don’t know why they’re sticking with standalone, people still like Serato and they have no controller competing against Pioneer (1000srt) & Rane (rane one)
Yet another great review Jamie. But, as I already expressed in Discord where you asked me what I wanted to know about this product, I am not really amazed by this one because even the SC4 is a step back compared to Prime 2. Despite the fact that SC4 having 4 ch and P2 having only 2, but I really miss the per-channel fx (independently for each channels), internal SSD / HDD bay, on top SD + USB. I haven't seen the crossfader contour changig possibility (probably it is within the OS), the performance pads are not as good as I expect (on Primes the performance buttons are lighting more, etc...) The pad selection buttons are a lot smaller than on Prime units, but it is acceptable. The addition which is really a nice feature is the deck display in jogwheels that we, Denon users crying since year for Denon to implement in Prime units - without success so far -, however they added EXACTLY that into this product. Ehhh... (Shame on you Denon!) But, since no booth output on SC2 and the price is not much lower than P2, I would not buy these. However, as I said in Discord and just as you said in the video, this is more like a personal preference (the same as when we discussed about the headphones). However... If I could afford, I would buy SC4 to my daughter to play with / learn instead of Mixstream or Prime Go. That's for sure. So... I feel that this is a great product but I have some concerns and in a scale from 1 to 10 I would give a 6 or 7 for it. For those who wanted to upgrade from DDJ series or even Numark (for example: Mixtrack), this would be a groundbreaking stuff. Thanks again for this great review, you summarized pretty well what I have asked in Discord. Briliant video again Jamie. Thanks!
Just got it! If you don’t want to use speakers then don’t. Never used my TVs speakers but they are there. If this unit isn’t for you buy something else man. Called options. It’s not like they are going to stop making new controllers geez.
I like the design, but the biggest letdown for me is the lack of connection options. I love to use oldstyle turntables from time to time and this is not the device for it. As a primary club DJ, I do use the high-tech Pioneer gear, but I've always had a weak heart for Denon DJ's (my first own setup was a Denon DJ mixer/tabletops setup). Despite the nice looking and sounding (I think) built-in speakers, I think the MCX8000 has a better gain for DJ's like me than this SC4 to be honest. Being a Serato DJ user for the past decade with my hardware, I don't think this would be an addition to my stuff (which is roughly worth over 30K).
@@neiljohnston6523 The price is similar. Don't really see the need. A £500 standalone controller would have a huge market, a top end replacement for the PRIME 4 would have a market but I can't see many of these units selling.
How exactly do the effects work? On my pioneer mixer it has a volume knob to lower or make effects louder. Does this Denon sc live 4 have a volume knob for effects? Or is it just at 100%? If so, that’s really bad and sounds horrible. I like control over my effects so why they’d leave it out, is crazy.
I don't think so, as in Prime Go I own aux in only control is volume knob, here will be the same - not even eq on aux - which to me isn't problem as I am using this only if someone is using Traktor or Ableton when we raving in the woods and my prime go is there main unit, which still working on internal battery with battery monitor speakers in case when power generator runs out of fuel unexpectedly.
Accept the screen size....😢...this is awesome product...how to enlarge the waveforms and energy portions...was thinking of adding a magnifier screen..lol😮😮..any ideas😂
@@RefugeetheDJ Emgine Prime.. The PC/Mac Software sucks but the software in the hardware has so many standalone features, it makes Pioneers controllers feel like stone age... Pioneer does make better hardware though..
Has anyone here had a Denon sc live 4 for around 1 year with regular use and have ZERO crossfader bleed? I just got 1 and am seeing lots of people having crossfader bleed, after just weeks of owning the device. Any1 have such problems? In my mind, I’m thinking they all will do this? Not very promising. Knowing my luck it will have it out of the box and if that happens , I’ll just get a refund. Also, I see many people saying the sc live 4 constantly crashes and reboots it’s self, jog wheels stop responding and many other issues.
What is the pitch range on it ?
You can regulate the range, to 8-10-20-50-100.
It is done by pressing shift + pitch bend buttons, or from the configuration menu, you can deactivate the pitch bend function of the buttons, and use them directly to change the pitch range, this is how I have it configured@@ShaunMagooMcGowan
Can you hook up 2 vinyl turntables to it as it's 4 channel?
@@craniumjunglist8934 No, external devices cannot be connected, except for an auxiliary that is controlled with one of the microphone gains, specifically microphone 2, so external turntables cannot be connected.
@@snako79 thanks for the advice.
I think the speakers are super convenient for many situations, far more than just a party gimmick.
I blew many speakers back in the day. At home just amazing in a 6m x 4m man cave. Trouble is it’s straight up
So good though. Got my first gig 6hrs 9on an oof terrace in August. Adding a powered speaker to the output for bass.
Roof terrace!
Denon sc 4 live with a dmx lightbar controlled from the touch screen too
I’m thinking of upgrading to this from my DDJ-400s. The pads and effect button are the same where they’re clicky and the streaming being built in is so good! It’s just the price is so much for me as a uni student! It’s just the 4 channels and streaming is what I need.
I just bought one. My first stand alone. I'm looking forward to using it!
Was it worth it? Able to mix well on it? Does it feel a bit cheap?
@@grahamkelly8662 no it wasn’t worth it.. I regret buying it
@@johnnychipello919 Why do you regret it? Whats so bad about it? Im about to pull the trigger to buy in a few days.
Same here lol
Selling my sc 5000 and x1800 for this
@@trevorpower9review on that decision?
I sold my 5000/1800 for sc 4 and other than smaller screen using 4 decks is so so but hay I did not need the separate units and all wires 😅
If the speakers are the same as the mixstream pro there a great addition for a quick mix or just playing some playlists whilst chilling you wouldn't exactly use them in a club setting or party setting I like the design and the feature set denon is lightyears ahead of pioneer atm with engine os
I just got mine today and boy oh boy Im in love with it already
Is it still working fine and a good buy?
Moved over to SC Live 4 from Traktor and the Kontrol S2 mk3 - because this is for me the perfect home setup to practice for a standard club setup, like CDJ and DJM. Can’t complain for now, I’m just baffled how userfriendly this thing is. Plug in a rekordbox USB stick, and ist just reads it, including cues and loops. Someone’s really done heir homework :)
Done the same and could not agree more.
@@JulianKern Appreciate it, brother! I am definitely leaning towards it.
hey bro, does it recognize memory cues also or just hot cues?
Dennon has always been above the rest as far as I am concerned. I used to own the MC6000 and am looking at getting back into the mix. This will be a tremendous bang for the buck.
My mc6000 lasted a decade and was like new when I sold it
I pulled the trigger and bought the prime 4+ about 6 months ago
Rekordbox analyzed tracks will work on this unit. I have done so personally. And I think it’s great to have a layout like pioneer. Healthy competition will force innovation out of them! I have this controller and it’s awesome.
Interesting! I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now! So glad they went with the effects next to the mixer this time. First I was happy when pioneer launched the rx3, but seeing the price, and the fact that it still misses options Engine has, it’s a no for me. I think this could be a great update for many Rx2 users, if they weren’t to clingy to pioneer..
Don’t do it mate it’s cheap shit
Thanks for the review on this unit as always! I hope that you'll review the SC Live 2 soon :)
Thank you for the time you took making this review. I appreciate it. This looks and sounds pretty badass, lots of features and all. Im just starting out with the Rev 1 myself🙃
this seems like the best option out there. deeeef thinking about making the switch
Great comment ❤
1300$ now. Really can't complain about that price! Same as the P2, but more powerful features.
Thanks for your review, it’s clear and explain everything we want/need to know before emptying our wallet.
i have the RX3, and I love it !
5 was my favorite and what I have been looking for, exactly what I needed, thanks!!! 🙌😁
Really don't understand the hate just because there are onboard speakers. You can turn them off and use your own if your not keen. This is a very well priced 4 channel unit and I've just bought it 👍
Would you recommend still? Any problems over last year? And how do built in speakers sound in small room?
That was my question. Can they be turned off. Thx
this is pretty much what I want to see from pioneer.
A compact-ish 4 deck standalone.
I don’t need full size cdj jogs or full djm900 mixer I/O. But playing rekordbox usbs is a must for me.
Doesn't the Denon support rekordbox USB? I think older models did.
You can play your rekordbox usbs, on this and prime controllers.
Great choice on the Fred again track for your Spotify playlist
I own a XDJ-XZ but I love Denon gear. I was hoping for this to be an upgrade from the Prime 4 which I usted to have but sold it because I didn't like the layout and controller style. Thinking on getting this one, but I'll give it a wait and see if Denon comes with a Xdj-xz killer
Did you get a Denon? If so, good?
Thank you! You helped me buy this :)
Was it a good buy for you?
@@grahamkelly8662 not at all. I have sold it one month later because if you want to switch from controller to pc you have to restart the controller. Unbelievable thing for 2024 controller

Apart from the issue you mentioned, was the device actually any good?
Speaker quality?
Mixing ability?
@@grahamkelly8662 yes you can play from usb. Regarding mixing and speakers I would give 6-7/10
@@DjPietro oh don’t say that 😭
I think I’m just going to go to an actual store and try a few devices.
I almost bought that Pioneer dj xdj xz
And I think that is what I’m going to try out , in store but again, it also has shortcomings , like the Denon and pioneer cost just over £2000
Even tho pioneer seems to have less then Denon, I still think overall quality will be better and that will make the experience feel much better.
Great demo! Just one question, lighting is wireless? Connect to a DMX wireless receiver and it's done? Thanks for great content
Everybody hating on it, but the modified layout alone adapting to closer cdj mixer setup is a selling feature. Remember how ddj 400 sold so much just for this reason.
I haven’t seen anyone hate on it yet 😂 might be cus it’s cheaper now
How available is this going to be with the chip shortage going on and considering that the $1600 is a awesome price
I like this New Xdj-XZ skin, it even comes with speakers 😂🧡
I'm hesitating between the Denon prime go and the sc live 4. I don't care about the battery of the Prime Go or the 4 channels of the Live 4. I want durability and quality of construction and sound. The response in the pads and space in the cross fader. Is there a difference between the SC Live 4 and the Prime Go? Thank you
😳 Woah !! Your hair is nice ! Haven't clicked on a video in a while. Looks really good 👍😊👍
I'm that "Denon FTW" guy...SC6000, LC6K, x1850, Prime GO & Prime 4.
Thanks for the demo. Very informative.
Hello and congratulations for the video, I ask you if it has the SAMPLER function on the pads and how to activate it. Thank you
Thank you for the amazing review!
That actually looks nice!
I felt the Prime 4 needed a refresh to match their 6000 series aesthetics. This ain't it, and may not be as feature rich, but at least it isn't gaudy looking.
Uh, this is a DJ controller, not to be confused with living room decorations haha 🌈
Great video Buddy :-) Would u go for 2 or 4 channels? I still dont understand...
get the Live 4, the 2 is too limited and just 200 bucks cheaper, not worth the saving imho
Outstanding 🔥❤
This might be the upgrade to my MC7000. Still waiting to see the new Rane controller.
Gil boogie, you quit making youtube vids
No Denon never reads
I have a denon prime and this is intruiging for a 4 deck, and monitors, all of it seems - more fun in terms of bringing it around.
Can you put the fx on multiple channels?
I still love my compact denon prime go
I don't know if I would replace it
I do want a 4 deck denon.
Has this won over the prime 4, for me personally I don't know yet.
I would love to see Denon upgrade Prime 4 just like the Rane one or the pioneer DDJ Rev7 now I will definitely change my Prime 4 if I'm good 👍.
So question @Crossfader you don't need to connect these to any speakers right? Can also just be plug & play via usb no problem and you'll be able to hear it?
Would we consider this a professional set up like the Prime or more intro level? Thanks!
I would called this advanced, somewhere in between.
Looks awesome, I like one
I know the Prime 4 mk 2 is coming out soon, I’m waiting for it :)
Hope it is
When?
Nice review, what about SAMPLER? I can;t see sampler button. Thanks.
Few questions:
How do you the remove que start once you’ve set it?
Change auto loop setting so that instead of pressing at the start of the loop for it, you press at the end ?
Edit tempo slider so the key locks and doesn’t change as you change tempo ?
Cheaper choice than Pioneer dj, new features and technology maybe in few years Denon will be the standard
So many people are complaining about the speakers as if they invalidate everything else this system offers. You dont have to use them afaik.
Thanks :)
Keeping my prime 4 waiting for the new Rane controller - that will be the one
Denon should make a 4 channel Serato controller with large jog wheels like the SC6000. I don’t know why they’re sticking with standalone, people still like Serato and they have no controller competing against Pioneer (1000srt) & Rane (rane one)
First! Keep up the great content guys!
Thanks!
Why they downgraded the big sleek monitor on the prime 4 with its thin bezels
Just got it! If you don’t want to use speakers then don’t. Never used my TVs speakers but they are there. If this unit isn’t for you buy something else man. Called options. It’s not like they are going to stop making new controllers geez.
Amazon music.... What about Spotify? or RUclips Music?
Can't really see any benefit over the PRIME 4 that I would use. It may attract some Pioneer users across to Denon though.
ITs an addition to the Prime range.. both sit alongside each other at varying price points.
Oh that's a cool shirt! Where can I buy 1?
also can you route the aux input to one of the 4 channels? be nice to input my music gear (drum machines etc) into one of the channels
Just got unit. Can you tell me where I can find my DJ Serato Pro license ? Thanks
Can you do a demo with Serato or Virtual Dj on this device?

Hello to Numark-style ))) inMusic holding...
I can’t seem to find anyone who’s owned it for more then a few months, to comment,
Everyone has either just got it or not had for very long.
How did you get your wave that direction?
Still loving my ddj-1000
Right, I want 4 channel so I can hook up my 1210s aswell, I’m guessing this won’t happen on this set up?
get a prime 4 for that. or one Super-OEM TT with Line-Out
Honestly what i want to see is a prime 4 with this effect layout and i would love a motorized jog wheel option
Quick question: how do we do to have the music spectrum in the horizontal position (like in Rekordbox) and not vertical on the Denon DJ SC Live 4 ?
View button (left side from the screen) and Shift at once probably, like in my Prime Go.
Press view and shift and it will change to the way you like it.
Can I use Amazon Music on 2 channels and music from USB on the other 2, if I want to run on 4 channels?
Yep
If yes, that’s amazing, I’m sold!
Hi what would you recommend out of these and the rx3
How tall are you in feet and inches so that I could compare the size proportions of the controller?
If this controller had bigger perfomance pads and better cue buttons this would have been a must buy... What shame!!!
