    I sold my Rane One and got me the Prime +. Love the thing, feels good again to spin in standalone mode after some 20 yrs later. Rane One is dope but I definitely don’t miss staring at a laptop.

      I played with a Prime 4+ at guitar center yesterday. It's a lot of fun! I do miss stand-alone workflow. I should have mentioned that I like making small tweaks to static scenes in SoundSwitch, and that can't be done with engine lighting.

    I get the rotating platter thing. It makes a huge difference for branding and some customers just assume that DJs who use rotating platters are more "professional"

      It's true, client perception is super important

      Depends on what you're looking for! If you want spinny platters, then definitely the Rane One!

    I've seen a lot videos with this denon prime +.
    All the djs cue mixing was off.
    Seems keeping tracks on beats is difficult with this denon prime. ????

      It's been a while, but I remember it being different than VDJ, and i liked VDJ a little bit better

    What I liked most about this was a cue button bc the Rev7 only has pause/play, not pace friendly.

    One doesn't have to be a "scratch DJ" to own and use moving platters. I always say use what you want, like and are comfortable with.

      Agreed. I think they add a lot to the performance

    I was about to replace my MCX8000 with Prime 4+, now I have to re-think about that. MCX8000 had bugs, that for sure will stay with the successor. For example the wrong choice of material for buttons especially Cue Pause button. By the way, Denon is not able to provide the buttons as a spare part any longer.... Hopefully Rane will do a better job....

    I agree with everything you said here especially about having more controllers is not really gonna make you more money lol. We buy these controllers for FUN!! I loveeeee my spinning platters on my Rane One!

    • @DJDarylBennett
      @DJDarylBennett  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think the spinny platter helps with the ambiance and if we’re having fun, that will rub off on the client, ultimately making us more money! But controllers that sit at home don’t make us money

    I jumped down to the Prime 2 because the 4 was just too big and had more than i wanted to do on it. With that said, i'll probably be going back to my laptop and tiny controller with VDJ. It just comes down to having a larger screen to navigate on the fly that does it for me. Plus, VDJ will layout everything for you much nicer than the 7 in screen from Prime.

    Does the Prime 4+ have built in stems

    • @DJDarylBennett
      @DJDarylBennett  9 месяцев назад

      Yes and no. You have to download a beta firmware to enable it. And while it's still in beta, I don't see how it would be able to ever be as good as a DJ software running on a good laptop

    from watching you use the prime4+, I don't like how the screen wobbles when you tap it. Looks like it would snap if you pressed it to hard.
    Go super nostalgia and get silver technics skins with a gold vestax mixer skin.

      Yeah there’s a tripod on the back that I learned about after the video lol
      That would be cool! Hoping the ranes capture the nostalgia with all the modern convenience lol

    I've watched the whole thing but you fail to answer the question you pose in the title of the video ;) Sounds like you're somewhat sado-masochistic in purposely downgrading only because of some appearance features. And a rotating platter, really, I'm from 1966 and that's the thing I miss the least. I even find it pretty distracting. Tried it with a Pioneer REV7 for a while, but I was happy I could switch it off. It's making me tired to see the constant rotating labels and lights.

    • @DJDarylBennett
      @DJDarylBennett  3 месяца назад

      The rotating platters is one of the reasons, but ultimately I was only interested in the Prime 4+ if I could operate it in stand alone mode, and engine dj was missing a few crucial features that I liked in virtual DJ.

      @@DJDarylBennett understand but never like rotate controllers just my taste I respect yours , mostly I do Latin crossover and house music I’m based on Miami South Florida .. but everyone is different some people used 2 channel rave 7 or rane 2 other prefer 4 channels at the end enjoy everyone has different taste for Dj style At the end I’m happy you continue doing well it doesn’t matter which controller you used for
      for mobile Dj ,, most important for me and the experience I’m been doing this job time to timer since 2005 …pa speaker equal audio quality is the most important for me and any Dj is Sound quality .. like I said I used from qsc k12.2 to rcf 915 for regular events and for high end event MARTIN AUDIO or rcf 945
      If you fine with Array PA system LD RCF ARE THE BEST …
      Thanks

      @guayo42 9 месяцев назад +1

      I have the Rane One and I would get feedback with a wired or wireless microphones. Some say the micpreamps are good. I could never get it to sound loud enough without feedback. I then dropped in a Zed 10 and same speaker output, no feedback.

    • @mixx_factory
      @mixx_factory 9 месяцев назад +1

      I dont own one personally. The venue i DJ has one wired and the mic sounds terrible. I then take the same mic and same mic xlr with the Rev 7 and it sounds superior. The XZ sounds also amazing but thats a different class of product. I do own a Numark with sound similar to the rane one. But im sure the rane 70 and 72 sound great . I havent tried.
