America in a can! The drinks were good! I am glad to hear you appreciate the humor. Thank you for supporting the channel. Very much appreciated. See you around. Cheers🍺
Just the fact that you guys are wearing life jackets makes me want to watch and to all the cool dudes out there who don't, well they should. Stay safe from newfoundland and labrador Canada great video.
I will admit, I don't always wear it. 98% of the time I do though. If I am just poking around close to shore in the summer fishing or something close to camp I dont wear it sometimes. But it is right there close. Other than that, I wear it. Summer being a key word. Cold water is no joke, and the vest is on no matter what. It is such an important piece of gear. Thank you for the comment. Stay safe and happy paddling!
... Awesome outing !! Going to camp on an island with skulls dotting the shoreline 02:20+ ,, Yikes !! .. Beautiful lake, would have had to stay at least one more day to lose the holiday boaters ... Meals looked amazing ...
We left on the 3rd. By the time we got off that lake the boaters were rolling in. I'm sure the 4th was insane. I think we timed it pretty well. This is a fun lake to spend time on. And the food!!!
@@ItsGoodintheWoods That lake never gets too crazy with boat traffic. Rangeley Lake is the only lake in that area that gets somewhat busy and I wouldn't call it crowded. Most of the boat traffic is fishermen trolling for salmon and trout.
Hello Justin, awesome camp and top notch scenery, I love the hammock set up. And don't even get me started on the food. Delicious. The farm eggs look so good, I got some from the local farmer across the street here and they are yummy. Nothing like warming up after a chilly day with a good fire and food. Awesome views too.
I love me some Basil Hayden. If you like a rye whiskey try and find some Paradigm Rye from Widow Jane. It's a limited release that just came out and it is fantastic.
It really was a religious experience for me out there. And before anyone points it out, I was making wooden stakes to properly pitch that beautiful eureka tent.😅 Dry as a bone bleached the sun in that sucker.😊 Thank you again my friend for another wonderful adventure. 🎉
Good to see the Wilderness out on a trip! Gotta love Basil Hayden! Took a tour of Jim Beam back in April and it was Awesome, they make Basil Hayden and Bookers which we liked best. Nice video as always, hope all is well!
I love this canoe. When I was waiting for the Trillium, I was wondering if the Wilderness was going to collect dust all season. If It did I was going to sell it because it is a very nice canoe that deserves to be used. I am very happy to say that the wilderness will continue to be used by me. She is not going anywhere. I suspect I may actually use it more than the Trillium as that canoe is going to be used very gingerly Lol. The Wilderness does need some love. Fabric showing pretty good now on the bow stem. I am going to restore her to the best of my ability soon. That basil hayden was very good! All is well out this way bud. Thank you. All the best to you
Another great trip Justin regardless of the weather and a great job of depicting the essence of the whole adventure. Some great camp cooking, America in a can and some fine Bourbon as always. Life is good !
I sure will. I just wanted to get a good amount of time in with both systems before I made that video. Been using them both for a couple years now. The comparison video should be up sometime this spring.
I like that you don't put music over all the sounds of nature. That uber editing crap isn't for those who had to move to the city and miss camping and nature, dearly. Here's to early retirement and moving back out east!
I was a tent person for 30 years. It took me a long time to get comfortable using hammocks. Initially I did not like the swinging motion. So I would set up a rope I could reach out and grab to keep the hammock from moving, or slow down the swing. Eventually it worked out. Now I much prefer the comfort of a hammock over a tent. My primary reason for switching over to a hammock, underquilts do not pop or leak. No more mid trip blowouts.
Nice looking bourbon. I haven't tried that one... yet. I thought the same thing about the strawberry before you said "I hope no one has peed on that' Those meals looked incredible! I see on the campground's website - "DO NOT cut any trees or peel bark (Alive or Dead trees)" So did you have to bring the wood out in your canoes?
That looked like a fantastic trip! Was that a GSI lid you used on the Pinnacle frying pan? What pot/set is it from? Having a lid for my 10” pinnacle pan, that doesn’t weigh as much as the pan, would be killer! I’m a gearaholic and I need to know these things. Thanks 😆
@@alanbierhoff6831 You are welcome. The Genesis is an amazing camp stove. It is extremely pricey, but you get a big jet boil 10" pot and a 10" frying pan with lid. It is awesome. Quite the system.
@@ItsGoodintheWoods Thanks for the info and product endorsement. I’ve had a Coleman Fold N Go 2-Burner Propane Camping Stove (very similar and only $75) since 2015 so, I can’t justify that expense. I’m a fan of Jetboil and got my first one (original) the day Backcountry started selling them. I did find out that I can buy just that lid (5L pot lid) from Jetboil for under $15 but it won’t be back in stock until August sometime. In the meantime, I’ll use my Banks Fry-Bake Expedition pan lid (NOLS option). I discovered this morning that it fits my 10” pinnacle perfectly. I kinda have to thank Craig for that. After the Short he just posted, I dug out my Fry-Bake stuff and Voilà! 😆
They have that good herbs in Maine too. Best in New England, hands down. I just checked out this campgrounds. Also 4+ hours from me, but another one on the list of places to check out sometime. Do they rent canoes for Massholes without one?
Maine is awesome! They do rent canoes. I have no idea of the details though. I think the campground closes October 1st, but i am not 100% sure. If it isn't closed for the season yet, it will be soon. This is a fun lake that is absolutely worth checking out
Good observation! I did not get rid of it. My Northstar is an extremely expensive lightweight canoe. 21lbs. That canoe will primarily be used on my lightweight trips. I know how rocky the shore line is on this lake, and I didn't want to subject that canoe to the abuse. I was also packing heavy, lots of gear, 2 coolers one for food one for beer. My wilderness handles that weight load much better than the northstar will. It's good to have options, the Wilderness was a better option for this trip. Gotta have the right weapon for the mission! Thank you for watching and commenting. I hope you enjoy the video.🍺
