Another great job from Jimmy. If I owned that Peugeot, I'd be looking to get the timing and auxiliary belts replaced ASAP, as I wouldn't trust them at all, after all the oil that got onto them.
I remember the first time I did one of these rocker covers on a Ford Fusion years ago , I was calling the suit that designed that engine , great in depth video showing great detail 👍
Great video. Thank you for sharing that! Looks like they improved a couple of things over the previous Gen 1.6 HDI from the MK1 308. The Airbox design is def better. Doesn't flop around like the old one and rattle like crazy. Valve cover leak is however still an issue, even though it's a different design.... Lol. (just fighting with a recurring valve cover oil leak on my MK1 at the moment that keeps coming back....)
its normal for the 1.6hdi fan to stay on when there is a fault with emissions. sometimes the battery drains unless you unplug the battery to reset until repairs
Nice job! I have the same problem on my 308 T9 1.6HDI but still in the initial stage. As it is, it must be fixed. I lose 1 square out of 14 on the oil gauge every 1000km. I am asking for information only, roughly how much the repair costs. I want to be financially prepared in advance. The car does not have any problems in operation, I just notice an oil leak. Car now have 186000km. Thank you in advance for your answer.
That rocker cover is the same on my peugeout 308 (2011) diesel automatic! So that cover comes off easy enough?? I was a bit scared to try pulling it off as it felt attached 😂 i even tried pulling a bit on those rubber levers thinking it was some sort of "release" to get the cover off..
Well I was expecting you gonna fix the oil leak from camshaft house?! But it was just the cam cover. I thought that the most 1.6 bluehdi engines (dv6fc - engines) d0 have issues with oil leak caused by poor sealant usage at camshaft housing.
These 1.6 and 2.0 HDI engines are very good. As long as you maintain them, they can go very far. As for electronics, they are for sure not reliable. But only for electronics. Engines are great.
I have a PSA engine in my Volvo. It's slightly altered actually but it's the 1.6 diesel that was sold to Ford, Volvo and Mazda. Anyway my point being that it seems pretty reliable. Mines got 180000 miles on it. I change oil every 5-6 thousand miles usually. I have noticed a puff of blue smoke in morning. Got to be the valve seals starting to perish. Other than that it's a decent engine imo.
I am considering a 73k miles diesel vehicle from a dealer and don't want to get landed with dpf problems 6 to 12 months down the line. If I asked them to do a dpf test what numbers should I be hoping to see to satisfy there is life in it ?
I lose 70ml on 1000km. That is 1 square out of 14 on the oil gauge every 1000km. Still small leak on the same place. Did u solve it and how much cost the repair. To be prepeared lol. Thanks
@@ORileysAutos thanks done a smoke test today just after maf sensor when tested found oil weeping on rocker box not from gasket but between where the two pieces look like bonded together near pvc valvelot of smoke when replaced oil cap
What’s the verdict on the acetic acid ash removal method? Got 30% & 40% & a fucked DPF. IT HAS SAPPED MY WILL TO LIVE!!! Never drive 1200 miles a week with a scan tool & live data ffs. 2000 miles & almost needs an oil change 🙀🙀🙀
The interior light stopped working... Well that's fixed now let's clean that DPF... But it's a petrol engine.. okay can I at least run my scan tool and the smoke machine then?
The 8 Valve DV always seems by far to be the pick of the bunch reliability wise.

This was a more complicated repair, Jimmy! But a good job, as always.

ANOTHER great video, well done, Jimmy!
Thanks again!
@@ORileysAutos Just keep them coming!!! Thanks!
"Didn't realise they do wet belts on these" - good one. Might still be better than their actual wet belts 😅
Looks like someone's got a shiny new toy😂 👍
Is this a new diag jim looks fresh 😂

Also didnt realise that it had a wet belt😂😂😂

Yes and outside air temp not working being the most common culprit. Abs faults also run the fan on high speed

Cracking stuff, Jimmy...!! Daft question...do you think there's any correlation between DPF issues and shite supermarket fuel?
Very quick question, does the throttle body need re learning after all this work?
Not at all

205,000 miles. And people say Peugeots aren't good for long mileages.

Oh and the injector seals WILL leak. Either the small rubber 'leak off' seals or the copper main seals. This makes a mess on top of the block. 😅
Owner didn't tell him how many times he'd had it in the garage though😅. It's on its 4th turbo and 3rd set of injectors😂

Mine 207 Hdi has same issue and same time my dpf is clogging up to ! Is that oil leak causes dpf clogging up ?thank you in advance
What is the cheapest tool I can get to reset the complete dpf system . I mean I probably have to reset like 5 of them
I want to give a try because it will cost same price then dealer but at the end I have the tool .
what happened to your old tab 3? looks new. keep rolling the great content out.
Hello
Is the engine affected by a small leak?
If I keep the oil on a normal lvl
Evri 1000 miles I put 200 ml
I lose 70ml on 1000km. That is 1 square out of 14 on the oil gauge every 1000km. Still small leak on the same place. Did u solve it and how much cost the repair. To be prepeared lol. Thanks
Would this cause intake air leak fault?
Yes

Rediculous setup. The French put cars round engines instead of the other way round 😏.
