Unpopular opinion: the Smart Pistol mk5 is designed for ambush and flanking attacks from unexpected angles, as well as wiping out squads of low tier enemies (like grunts), and is not actually that good in a 1v1 head on gunfight against an aware pilot. I’m not saying it’s a low skill or a high skill weapon, just a different kind of skill. you have to know what fights you should back away from because if your opponent knows where you are, the Smart Pistol is at a significant disadvantage. Other weapons can deal a lot more damage much faster and sooner, without needing to wait for target lock
Yeah, smart pistol will lose in a head-on 1v1. It's meant to be a stealth weapon for sure, but I think for balance purposes it should have a lock on warning like in tf2. I'm sad that they removed it as a primary though because it's not even that powerful especially at higher skill levels where people can aim better. It is a fun weapon that requires a different style of play
@@magz2460 agreed. Some of the maps were actually better than tf2 I'd argue, and I liked how interactive they all were. Dragons, robots, consoles, etc. Also spyglass was so cool

that makes no sense even if you get in a fight all you have to do is just dodge the bullets and wait for the lock on
