    How sharp is the text and color match against the studio display?

    • @milesfu4764
      @milesfu4764 11 дней назад +1

      Acutally, I bought a Studio display, then I returned it, because my eyes felt not comfortable with the Studio display. as I can work all day long with my Eizo CG279X.
      To me, the MA270U is sharp enough, and from this monring to tonight, my eyes has no bad feeling with that. I may keep this for long-time use.

    • @milesfu4764
      @milesfu4764 10 дней назад

      To be honest, I personally think that the studio display has many advantages, such as manufacturing quality, elegant appearance, and seamless compatibility with Mac, but compared to professional monitors (such as Eizo CG series; or other monitors dedicated to design), the color or panel uniformity of the Studio display is not at the professional level.
      Because the Studio Display is no longer in my hands, I can't directly compare it with the 270U. I am no longer young, my eyesight is not as good as when I was in my twenties. So for the 270U, I enlarged it to 1920*1080 (2x zoom). I can only say that for my personal use, based on my memory, I don't think there is a significant difference in sharpness with the Studio Display.
      Once again, this is my own experience, not a purely technical comparison.

    My MA270U arrived today, I'am quite happy with it. I have a Eizo 279X which I like so much and I've used for years, the color is so good, but it's only 2K so not good for MAC. I worried that I may not accept the color of Benq 270U if comparing with Eizo. I'd say the open-box color of MA270 is good enough.
    The color accuracy and panel uniformity is not as good as the Eizo, but at this price point I don't think there's much to nitpick. I'm going to use the Eizo with windows only and the Benqn for MAC.

      @@JerrySchulze I thought about many options, and finally I chose this monitor because it has an M-book Model and is easily compatible with MAC. My idea is: if I need very accurate colors, I will use Eizo to process pictures, because it is not text reading, so 2K resolution is not a big problem; for most of the usual usage scenarios, I can use Benq MA270U, especially for processing text and surfing the Internet. I wanted to try 320U at first, but I was worried that it was too big, so I finally chose 270U, which is just the right size for me.
      Again, than you for your review which make me have the confidence to choose this monitor.

    Great review which helped me decide so thanks.
    I just replaced my 10 yr old 27" iMac 5k retina with a new M4 Mac Mini so needed a display. In the UK, the Studio display with height and tilt stand is £1,900 and the BENQ MA270U is £450 so no prizes for guessing which one I bought !
    At first I didn't like the mat screen but I am used to it now and have no regrets. I run it at 1440 and it's fine. Set up looks very clean and I think it's good to split the computer from the display as it gives more flexible future upgrade options. Plus the BENQ gives a longer standard warranty than Apple

I have it connected to my MacBook Air (M2) and for some reason I don't have 1920 x 1080 as an option - the closest is 2048 x 1152, The max is 3840x2160 which is correct but I can't figure out why the 1/2 setting isn't available. Until macOS supports proper UI scaling, nothing will look good below ~218 PPI. 4K at 27", nevermind 32", is just awful. macOS refuses to scale to 150% or 125% and does this weird 200% then size down thing.
    It's been a literal decade since 5K 27" panels have been available in the market, I'm tired of monitor manufacturers making excuses. Dell had the UP2715K in Sept 2014. The 27" 5K iMac was that same year. I'll be buying the ASUS PA27JCV instead.

That monitor has some ports built in, so I connect the monitor with USB-C to the macbook, and IT provides power delivery that works great. and I have my hub now just connected to a USB-C port on the monitor and then my external drives connected to the hub it works really well. These types of reviews all come down to what you use it for. Also if you shop around you can find an Apple Studio Display now for around 850-900 us. The tired but true argument is that for most ppl this monitor will work fine. My biggest issue with a non apple is the crispness which helps alot when doing graphic design but again I am not most people. I mean like a lot of things if you have to wait another six months to save up for something but it lasts as long as it does that it’s worth it. I mean Apple isn’t perfect by any stretch. Oh geez, that’s an understatement that said for the most part the stuff I’ve always bought from them and especially my line of work. It really does value out really well because most monitors nowadays they’re just not built very well. I don’t know what happened. I’m sure it’s a cost Like profit thing because there used to be way more better options for monitors that were so ridiculously expensive but at some point, it just became like either something was really good or just not so good.

    Thanks for the review. Guess I am sticking with my two 24" dislays, I did check out a studio display at a Apple store using my 2022 Macbook M1 laptop. So far that is the one that I really want, just can't bering myself to spend the cash. I will but the usb-c wireless keyboarf when it comes out, as I am working on gettin off lighting ports.

    No. Any monitor that isn't glossy wasn't built for mac. Some might even argue any monitor under retina resolution isn't either but I personally make exceptions to OLEDs.
    Stop with this non-sense advertising subpar overpriced monitors.

    GREAT video! Can you review the Kuycon G27X 5K monitor? It literally looks like a carbon copy of the Apple but at a significantly cheaper price point...5K...has aluminum body like Apple's to. Great design. Would love to see an indepth review by you of it.

    How it's this "BUILT for your Mac" since MacOS scaling on 4k it's awful? I have one MSI 4K 32in and it's looking very bad, the text it's not sharp and the overall quality it's fuzzy and foggy. Stop promoting things that aren't supposed to work properly on MacOS. I'm really thinking to sell my monitor and get a 5k one like LG Ultrafine second hand or to build a desktop PC. However, i really like my MacBook M3 Max and i'm dissapointed that such a big problem it's not more popular in reviews, you really have to dig deep to find something about this "minor" problem. I didn't expected that since i'm coming from windows/linux devices.

      What’s scaling option Are you choosing with a 32 inch 4K display?

    • @luckystrikehk

      it depends what you looking for, as photographers or videographers nowadays, a 95-98% color match with your macbook color is most important as most of clients is using their iphones or ipads to view their photos or videos. Mac color had already like a 'standard' in digital world. 5K or not is not the most important for them, its all about color. Some old monitors just cant sync the same color from macs even manual adjust is painful and couldn't match. BUT i will wait for a 120hz version so i can do both macs for edting PC for gaming.

      Except that it's not even 50%. Between the non-retina scaling and the matte coating the clarity difference is way too big for a monitor that will be used for graphic work. It doesn't even have any redeeming features like high refresh rates to justify its price. Get a budget 4k monitors and save your money, or save up for a real 5k glossy one.

      @@houssamalucad753 but a glossy surface is bad for graphic work. You want to decrease reflections. Thats why Apple also sells the anti glare glasses. There are no professional graphical monitors using a glossy display.

    Nope. I bought this for me Mac Mini. 4K means native scaling is too large and am always looking for more screen space. So will return and look for a 5k monitor. P.S. The monitor is pretty thick as well.

      Update. I did adjust the scaling to the next lower level and the BENQ MA2070U seems to work well. While the 5k option certainly would be better, not for an additional $1k in price LOL. Love the BenQ for the built in connectivity hub and it does integrate with the Mac Mini. Far better than my older HP display (over 10 years LOL).
