Hello! I hope you are well. I am immensely happy to see this! I greatly enjoy your guys take on this old design! You're right on the money- all those years ago I just mashed the part that I had all together until I was a happy with a design. I'm so glad to see your ingenuity and parts use be so creative! I do admit I had no idea how to art or how to build anything then and looking back I share in that frustration you had- I'm glad we can look back and chuckle on how different the ancient past was. Even then the parts I used were old for that time! Even the lore lingering around my Fan OC was flimsy but I did see him as a super hero. The first creation usually does inherit that kind of hope right? I greatly adore how you used the colors to exaggerate and focus everything on the chest! And I'm also glad the super robot proportions were accented even here! Ah The wonders of modern pieces! I wonder how ratchets are now. I would have greatly enjoyed sturdy universal articulation those would offer. I wasn't sure if I should post something like this here. In truth I am just lurking around but I always see creative things like this since I'm still lurking in the transformers/lego communities. I may not be making things like these now but it makes me elated to see creative people like you all keeping on making things and be a positive example to new creators!
Elated to see that you're watching from the sidelines, man! Hey, do you use Discord? We have a large community of collaborators there working on Lego Transformers every day, and we'd love to welcome you in whether you're still building or not.
My favorite thing about theonethatis’s designs were that even thought they were larger they still looked solid and felt like actual LEGO sets. It’s easy for larger LEGO transformers to become fragile because of the integrity lost by all the transformation joints.
Here's an Interesting Lore idea for Solarstream; Due to the rockets on his forearms, he can't hold anything. To remedy this, he can create and manipulate small flames that erupt from the nozzles in order to create actual hands. The only downside is that he burns everything he touches, but that's to be expected.
@@halicusnguyen8864 Let's combine the two ideas. There's a type of engine being researched, that uses metallic hydrogen, so that instead of using a cone on the back that's pushed by the expanding gasses, which needs to withstand the high temperatures, you instead use powerful electromagnets, allowing both for the ship to continue pushing itself off the gasses, even once they're no longer directly behind the ship, and drastically reducing the amount of heat that actually reaches the ship.
Expanding on your lore between Solarstream and Quickstop, I like to imagine that, if Quickstop had a TV series based around him, season x would end on a cliffhanger in which a suoer-powerful Decepticon has Quickstop at his mercy, and season y would open with Solarstream swooshing into the atmosphere, doing an over-dramatised transformation while free-falling, before superhero landing in front of the con and saying something like, "get back, kid!"
A couple of things I like about Solarstream: When comparing vehicle modes with Quickstop and given the narrative you presented with Solarstream, I like to imagine that his vehicle mode is a bit archaic, coming from an "old cybertron" era where alternate modes were more individualized and could have been anything from a data disc to a solar speeder. Quickstop as a generic four wheeled vehicle, can symbolize a "new cybertron era" where alternate modes are more often than not transportation based and flight based alternate modes are starting to become less common. While Standing with Quickstop, you can compare the white parts on him to the grey on Solarstream as well as the colors overall giving an older and worn look to him. I personally like to give stories to characters, so seeing this really boosted my love for Transformers. Nice video!
Dang, 10 years ago already. Time flies, huh? As for the design itself, i absolutely love it. His small non-feet reminds me a lot of Animated Blurr, and the skirts/tail remind me of samurai armor.
It's usually hard for me to really like the designs of most lego transformers due to the lack of ways to make detailed faces, but this one is super cool! I'd like to imagine that the tail blaster could connect to the back in vehicle mode as weapon storage and to signify a trail of light energy that emanates from his energy storage cells. Although I'm not sure if a connection for such an idea would work.
YOU BET YOUR BUTT I REMEMBER HIM! God he was my number one inspiration back in the day. Love your interpretation as well, you did an amazing job at such a small scale!
This is such a throwback, and makes me feel really old... Things have changed so much over the years. I wish I was that same bright-eyed 11 year old again, making these amazing creations
Man I've absolutely loved everything you've put out since the new Quickstop! Those mixel joints are really helpful eh? I felt since Quickstop you've had more of a uniform style, but every figure was as original and unique as ever, I love it!
This has to be your best work (even if it is a redesign). Great, complicated transformation with an amazing robot and vehicle mode. I love how you added the side armor.
I have had never hear of Someoneguy before you mentioned him. The robot mode is very cool and comes together very well. I can tell that the robot mode looks old then his vehicle mode if it makes any sense. Mentioning older moc channels I have a weird request, but could you show off some of you super old Mocs that you half left in "hd" I would be much happy. Your older vids were my childhood. I really liked that bear one a lot so much so that I reconstructed it using your video on, pausing frame by frame. I even did that with scale storm as well because I was in awe at the size of that lad, I even have my bootleg scale storm still together. If you don't want to do it or you have better photos of them some where else that would be fine. Have a nice day :)

Description is perfect I imagine solarstream just coming out of the blue and optimus and the other autobots surprised he's still alive but of course, well past his prime days but is still able to fight on par with optimus despite his age and go toe to toe with megatron Really symbolizing his power as an autobot war hero
This is really cool! I love your style of smaller lego transformers. I especially like your unique Oxiliary! Next, make a Dark Of The Moon or The Last Knight megatron! That would be so cool in lego!
I don't recall seeing Solarstream back then but I could just imagine him being voiced by Sam Elliot and Quickstop being voice by Kevin James just like how it's like that in Barnyard (it's a Nickelodeon original movie)
I thought the vehicle form looked pretty cool, but the transformation was awesome and the robot mode really reminded me of transformers the movie, the old anime one with Unicron planet thing
I’ve heard people say “student scissors is Better” but rollout is his own style of transformers so I don’t know how those 2 compare they are two different styles of Lego transformers
I think of him more of the Peter B. Parker type to Quickstop Morales. I also think of his “hands” using some form of short range power beams to hold things in midair like tractor beams
3:06 that's a concept that is actually being used by NASA and it's called a solar sail. The real thing is not quite as effective as you described it though.
Is it hard for you to remember how to transform your builds? I'm guessing not, as I know from experience that as you go through the LEGO build process you get pretty familiar with the build.
It’s not a bad thing that his is exposed in jet mode because if you look at the cybertronian form of megaton in any show really, or shockwave, their head is showing somewhere. So this is actually pretty accurate to a true cybertronian

Like that water guy from mha, but with fire.
or perhaps have electromagnets in his rockets which allow for him to utilize scrap metal and turn it into a set of hands
Noice

When i see better engineering in a lego transformer than hasbro's official transformer figures...
Awww that's cute
Yep
This guys name has all of my favorites in one
i think they actually made jobby go insane more than one time
Agreed

@Tadoušis lukoševičius omg you are way to small to be on RUclips.
the original was actually made 7 days before i was even one
also is it just me or do u think he would be like really fast so he can just stay upright
So what name of his youtube cause i want to know
It's like you can hear Rollout smiling at a few points, and its great.
You're some sort of god dang engineering genius. Holy shit this is complex.
OK NOW THIS IS MY FAVORITE LEGO TRANSFORMER!!!
Keep Up The Good Work!!
I picture those rear engines as atmospheric flight units, since I can't really imagine the photon-propulsion would work in atmospheric conditions.
It’s neat that Solarstream has a similar colour scheme to Quickstop except that his green is darker implying him being worn
The rebuild of quickstop is like a fan of solar stream and makes himself look like solarstream
New transformer: Revenant. Grim reaper- like hearse guy. Sound cool or not?
Oh yeah, that’s a pretty cool idea!
That's sick
Sounds like a Decepticon
Apex.....?

Amazing work man, probably one of my favourites that you’ve built, I can’t say I’ve seen the original but this is quality work. Great Job man
86 builds man you got some skills man

This is by far my favorite lego transformer
I like to think of the solar panel thing as a trench coat of sorts
...their side skirts, you do know what side skirts are right?
TRENCH SKIRTS
Baggy coat that makes you look bigger than you really are :D

I had an idea. What if airlock is solar streams oldest enemy, and now quickstop must fight him.

So articulated.
Holy crap a rollout build that can ,,, dare I say, articulate
This is probably my favorite transformer of yours.
The transformation look majestic and i love that
Well done dude on your build. And I dang I missed out on some stuff
Also it's funny how solarstream's back story is a metaphor for his original creator's current situation except said creator hasn't resurfaced yet
Holy shit dude, it really has been 10 years. And I’ve planned for awhile to remake Onethatis characters.
Since his jets are his arms you can plug a lego fire piece in his hand and use it as a flame thrower
