    Jai Guru. I am from the West, i found autobiography of a Yogi several years ago..i have studied Yoganandas teachings, and i resonated deeply, and, peacefully with all. When i learned "the purpose of life is to find GOD", i was hooked; i knew then, this was the direction GOD is leading me. I meditate in nature, and i experience that beautiful joy, and peace that the swamis always speak of. Peace to all, Love to all. Namaste

    Very instructive and insightful presentation. No wonder, our ancient sages were so wise and scientific to comeup with such deep methods and philosophies.
    During this presentation, I paused the video for sometime and I was laying back on the bed and started observing my breath and after few minutes it felt like a circular movement of air was sweeping iny body specially in the chest and stomach area and I felt very relaxed. Did anyone have had similar experience?
    Thanks for organizing this presentation, the speaker was very knowledgeable.

    It is natural for the head to go back in deep meditation. You can check Gurudeva Paramahansa Yogananda Ji’s photos in samadhi. His head is always back. It is a natural phenomenon of feeling bliss. It is involuntary movement of the head. Swami ji is wrong in saying that one should try to keep the head straight. If you are conscious of the head in deep meditation then you have not come out of body consciousness.

    • @blueberryyogini
      @blueberryyogini 2 месяца назад

      The teaching is to keep the SPINE straight. Along the spine are the energy centers (chakras) through which the prana travels during kriya yoga practice. So keeping the spine straight facilitates the movement of prana. A straight spine is the asana, the fourth limb of astanga, as taught by Patanjali.

      The Kriya yoga mentioned in this presentation was first introduced to the world at large and to the West in particular in 19th century when it was revived by Mahavatar Babaji who taught it to his disciple Lahiri Mahasaya. Babaji in turn requested that a disciple of Lahiri Mahasaya (Swami Sri. Yukteswar) train a disciple so that the technique be brought to the West. To this end Babaji specifically chose Paramahansa Yogananda to come the west and spread Kriya Yoga. Paramahansa Yogananda came to the West in 1920 and spent the rest of his life spreading the teachings as requested by Babaji. Paramahansa Yogananda founded YSS in India and SRF in the US. Paramahansa Yogananda became world famous after he published Autobiography of a Yogi. To learn Kriya Yoga one must learn it from an authorized representative of YSS or SRF. Paramahansa stated that after his passing his printed teachings would be the guru. Paramahansa Yogananda (as any other Avatar) are always looking after his disciples. Avatars do not have to be in this physical world to help mankind. They are watching us constantly.so they do not have to be in the physical world.

      @vicky initiation is free. YSS will never ask you for money. Other than the lessons (for which there is a minimal fee) everything is free. The lessons will teach you the Haung Sau technique of concentration and the Om technique of meditation. Once you have taken the required number of lessons then you’ll be eligible for Kriya Yoga. Do not be impatient. We all have been on this path for millions of years so a few months is really an insignificant amount of time. YSS wii contact you so don’t worry. If you don’t hear from them then please call them.

      Well, remember, the chakras are not physical, three dimensional objects. They are an invisible part of our paranamayakosha (sometimes called the astral body, or the subtle energy body). Ida, pingala, sushumna, and chakras all reside in this energy body aspect of ourselves, not literally on the physical body somewhere.
