"I've seen better looking N64 games"....Uh yeah, it's definitely a visually compromised version of the game, but I don't think I'd go THAT far. I'd suggest you go back and actually LOOK at N64 games before making a comparison like that, lol. Those of us who weren't weaned with a smartphone in our hands well remember what "N64" and "PS2" games actually looked like.
Yea comparing it even to ps3 games is a really ignorant statement let alone n64 😂😂😂 The lighting alone makes it blatantly obvious that it's a game from the last 10 years.
No he definitely hasn't. Game blatantly looks like it was made in the last 10 yrs just by the lighting alone and he compares it to late 90s consoles? 😂😂😂
It really doesn't, but people who play on newer hardware think everything looks awful on switch. I admit that the graphics aren't amazing but if you want to see something that looks like this: Little Big Planet Karting or Modnation Racers
@@RyanideProductions I think games look perfectly fine, provided that they are optimized. They don’t have to be at a low resolution, have aliasing or run at a crappy frame rate- even though it’s the switch.
The Nintendo Switch's graphical capabilities for open-world games are often criticized, but EA and Criterion did an exceptional job with their release of Burnout Paradise. The game runs smoothly at 60 frames per second, showcasing the potential of the Switch's hardware. Despite the limited number of open-world titles available on the platform, Burnout Paradise stands out as a shining example of what can be achieved graphically on the Nintendo Switch.
It's the old/slow CPU and memory bandwidth - doesn't play well with games that require loading in/coordinating pathing/scripts etc. for a lot of different objects at realtime framerates. Also, an "open world" racer is going to be less computationally intensive than an open world RPG.
Burnout paradise is from 2008 dude. That game was made to run on much lower end specs. This game also has more particles and geometry due to legos being the theme along with depending on internet which takes up bandwidth
@@JRBowling1997 Because it’s a port of a game from the Wii-U, whereas this game was designed for more powerful hardware, with a cutdown version released on Switch later than other versions. Not sure why people keep referencing ports of older games/obviously less technically complex games made to work better within the limitations of the Switch as datapoints pointing to a given more complex game not running well on Switch. This was obviously the best they could do given the hardware limitations - the Switch is closer to the 360/PS3 in overall power, and no amount of “optimization” will change this. At this point if you want decent portable play for more ambitious games you need to either buy a Steamdeck or other PC portable, wait for the next Switch, or accept the marginal visuals and performance as a side-effect of Nintendo’s choice of hardware.
Not all games are created equally. When are you people gonna understand that? They're not gonna port a Ue4 game to the Mario Kart 8 engine just so it runs better. That's a crazy amount of work for marginal results, not to mention, they'd also have to totally redesign a lot of assets and shaders to fit MK8s more antiquated graphics tech (mk8 doesn't have PBR shaders, Lego 2k drive does)
@@HugoStiglitz88 there are a lot of game on switch more heavy than this and more detailed than this, that run on Unreal Engine and working fine. Thank you for this bias free review, this is actually great, and I can't believe everyone else's review has been glowing with sponsor money. If I get it, it'll be on steam at a discount. Really sad that they couldn't even make the reasonable choice to save on-device.
We just can’t ever have anything good anymore. Companies are just openly taking advantage of everyone and we never… just whatever.. I’m so done with video games.
Thanks for this review, was on the fence about it but now i'm glad I didn't get it cause this game looks like a mess and you have to be connected to it online to save your data, so dumb
Ohhh thats the reason its 35€ on Switch :( Man i want it because its much cheaper but its not that good 🫤 Is the always online to save on all console an PC too?

for me to, something like yearh ago i was playing fortnite on 30 fps on switch so.
Wtf you never played N64 games if this looks like N64 games for you.
The point is it looks bad. The main issue I have is the Live Service and Microtransactions for a full price $60 game.
So much incorrect information in this video, you're clueless bro.
PS. Offline progress does save without internet.

The graphics look alright not the best but not the best (also how did you get a dark blue switch lite?)
It's one the regular colors now, came out like 2 years ago.
Forza horizon 5 with Lego update? I think you mean forza horizon 4???? Or maybe fh5 with the hot wheels dlc??
As a Switch fan and 2k fan IM DISAPPOINTED
You should really go play Mario 64 or Mario Kart 64 before saying those look better…. Brace yourself.
There are no excuses that hold a horrible optimisation on Switch they run much better games even heavier than this
Mario kart 8 deluxe even runs better. Even in handheld mode
