Today we're taking a look at some amazing custom builds in the new LEGO 2k Drive. The game lets you build anything you want up to 350 pieces, and everyone is really taking advantage of that creative freedom to make some awesome stuff!

They started adding speed champion sets into 2k drive finally they heard us
Yes! I finished the main story but I've only unlocked two Speed Champions cars that are officially in the game. I'm surprised they didn't add all of them, seems like a no brainer.

Right now, they have pre-built chasis to start off. If they added custom chasis and parts from the Speed Champuons series, the possibilities would be out of this world.
Unfortunately as it stands right now, both the "Straight and Narrow" and "Street Champion" chassis bases are 100% inadequate for custom Speed Champions cars.
"Straight and Narrow" is only four studs on the side, not six; while "Street Champion" has an incorrect rear.
I was trying to build the Nissan Skyline from the FAF film collaboration Speed Champions set; I got to step five and couldn't go any further. Any of the old six stud cars is a no-go.

Honestly I kind of love the creative workarounds people are finding to recreate Speed Champions and other things in this game, the limitations add their own certain charm. Like, the specific wheels you have to use in-game remind me of the kinds of Lego cars my friends, family, and I built as kids, but then there's a cleverly-built and recognizable top on it. It has a very classic nostalgic vibe to me combined with certain modern building techniques, and I for one love it. It makes me want to play this game that much more.
Recreating the Mystery Machine for all three vehicle types must've been a pain in the butt. XD

You can group multiple bricjs and save them, so they probably just copied the group and placed it on the different bases
If they add an option to make custom bases for cars, as well as more Lego pieces (grille and fender arches), this game would bring so much creativity!
The only good truck I made so far is Grave Digger from Monster Jam and the engine noise I put was icing on the cake

A small correction to a statement you made early on. You do NOT have to include the mini-fig on the build. You can literally just not add them, and the car/boat will work just fine.

"Gull Wing doors" is the type used on the Delorean
2:45 that's not entirely accurate. A lot of critical pieces that would allow for perfect 1 to 1 replication of existing sets are missing. A big example, there's a fender piece that's used in a ton of Speed Champions and City sets that isn't currently in the game. Plus the Street Champions base that you would use for most of those is basically backwards.
I assume a lot of parts will be added by the battle pass, but most likely all the important ones will be on the premium track.

It's very nostalgic and great gameplay. People have complained about the microtransactions and the price but I think it's worth it just to play the main story!

I love LEGO, but this game is a stain on their record. It looks so cool and the concept is there, but the grind as well as the microtransactions are a no from me.

Ive made a custom gtr r34 but it was so hard to get and the wheels stick out like a stud, hopefully they will have more customisable chassis in the future
I wish they had more of a created by other players menu.. kinda like trailmakers.
I took the tiniest platform and put just a windshield, seat and steering wheel on, no guy on I but it's fun to zip around, the lego games have always been a blast and fun to play
I think this is a Fantastic game and for someone that loved to build with Lego as I kid this game lets you properly build a vehicle and actually use for racing at least, However my only downside to this game is the fact that you can't make vehicles from scratch and have to use one of the pre made Chassis or modify one of the in game cars to get a bit more of a custom layout to the vehicle but saying that the game has not even been out a month at the time of making this comment and I hope very soon hopefully that they add that feature to make a vehicle from scratch as let me tell you giving people that freedom will allow for some absolutely Incredible builds.
Yeah it's kind of annoying that the sports car base isn't available unless u modify the sports convertible coup.
And even then, they intentionally added a couple parts to the base that can't be removed... so it's not possible to really recreate some cars

Im confused about the blue and orange supersonic jet boat because I have that set, its a 3-in-1 and one of the alternate builds is a racing speed boat.

One of the cars is a collectible within Lego games like pirates of the Caribbean, star wars, marvel and lego batmam.
The game’s player count has dropped immensely. The horrible predatory microtransactions in a game marketed/rated towards children, the inclusion of a battle pass system potentially including FOMO elements down the line, the exclusion of sharing vehicles with others, the premium price tag ($120 for the highest edition) despite what I’ve said above has made what was a game I’ve been looking forward to the most to one that is nothing a failed live service.
Definitely understood, and agree with what you are saying. Super disappointed in the price point and especially the microtransactions. The gameplay is great, and gives me immense nostalgia for LEGO racers, but I hate that so many issues have prevented it from having bigger success.
@@NewBrickerton 100%. I was truly hoping this would be the next Mario-Kart that wasn’t bound to Nintendo. So much potential, gameplay is awesome, customisation is awesome, but it’s sad that greed got the best of it.

Pretty cool builds. I love building and racing games. Went and looked this game up, but sadly I don't feel like paying 50 bucks just to build things. The reviews on steam are mixed, citing this game tries to nickel and dime you at every avennue. So unless this game comes out on Game Pass or something, I'll most likely never play it.

Some of them you can unlock through quests and challenges in the game, you can also buy part packs in the store with the in-game dollars

Is the game worth buying. If I do end up getting it. I would definitely have to try to design the Thousand Sunny as a boat. Not that it would probably work all that well. But if I do, it will likely be on sale, though.
If you like the idea of the game, it is worth it. The gameplay is addicting and the story mode takes about 8-12 hours depending how many side quests you do. People have said $60 is a steep price for this, but if you like building in the garage this game has hours and hours of content.

Yes they should! Some of them are builds that LEGO already makes, but some are totally unique and need to be made in real life. Especially the seagull boat!
The base pieces are intentionally attached to additional parts so that u can't really make official sets without altering them somewhat
Yeah, I had to make some tweaks to my Skyline build as I was pulling straight from the Speed Champions instructions.
Hopefully the devs can allow full custom platforms at a later point.

You can drive 2k drive while being play in 2k drive driving 2k drive drive
You don’t need a minifigure to drive at all
The bat mobile is a tutorial
Luke’s landspeeder is also a tutorial same for skyline gtr also Mario kart one is a tutorial
The car from min 9 is a ajdi quatro
You mean Audi Quattro s1 Group B
So I don't know if it's been said but you don't really need the minifig to "drive" these creations so the Marty migfly didn't need a minifig
