    They nail the "play as the protagonist" feel in this game. And I don't know if there will never be a successful open world cinematic game. Ghost of tsushima is the closest and even that game (easily a modern classic) tends to lose its cinematic appeal in several spots so it feels more like a "game" and less like a "cinematic adventure"....

    • @Jozombies115
      @Jozombies115 2 года назад

      That's the thing about games like Hogwarts Legacy. You're just some random wizard, when literally the whole universe centers around harry potter and he is the real protagonist. In Uncharted 4 its Nathan Drake is basically on that level.

    one of the things I love about this game is that the characters actually age and grow as people. sadly not many developers pulled that off in the past, but Naughty Dog knocked it out of the park here.

    In 56:00, that flickering, most likely is a form of z-fighting. It is not a texture issue. It is two mesh planes being to close to each other. Sort of overlapping, causing flickering bug/glitch.

    Excellent video. As much as I like the first three Uncharted. The fourth installment is in a league of its own. Thoroughly enjoyed playing it. If you are thinking about the game days after playing it, that means you really had a great time playing it. Might come back to it at a later date when they release it for PS5, I wont be grabbing it on day 1 for sure. Will wait for the price to drop as I believe that they should have given a 60fps patch for this game at no extra cost.

    I really hope that the PC/PS5 version is done properly. I've beaten the story 6 times (lol) and it's one of my favourite games from Naughty Dog. The combat system really allows you to choreograph some really awesome moments
    I also think that the choice to replace the composer for this game made sense; Henry Jackman nailed it.

    Wow.. This content blows anything else outta the water you've done.. Really good stuff here! (New to this video style) Enjoyed this way more then your reviews maybe it's the long-form content. I hope that this content can become more frequent, heck it's worth a decent patreon tier too! One minor critisim is your popup texts go away to quickly. I feel as though I'm listening heavily to what you're saying, and if I don't read them immediately it's as if they are gone in 3 seconds. Maybe increase the duration there, or keep them to when you're not speaking . This is really damn good content though.

Fixed all that now, picked up the first 3 in the sale so going to play through them all in order. Cant wait to get back to this one though, such a beautiful game and from what I experienced there's no 'monsters' which I appreciate as the adventure and exploration were the appeal to me.

    I noticed you skipped it so it might be a bit obvious but the attic itself is also an important insight into Drake's mind on a symbolic level. The fact he plays up there (shooting) underlines this. By TLOU2 you can see that ND and Drukeman are thinking how to construct these games on a more literary bases and it's clear Uncharted 4 is starting to explore these ideas.

      Higher res, better textures, higher lod, improved geometry, no load times, higher framerate. Maybe better draw distance and improved AI. They can push it further, definitely. Will they go that far? If it is ND doing the remaster, maybe. Bluepoint? Maybe not. The trilogy remaster was a mixed bag for me.
      It also depends how much time and money they want to spend, I suppose.

    Lately, I have seen so many rude comments regarding Sony's game but most specifically ND: "just walking sims", "boring Hollywood bait" and it is so disheartening. It's nice for a change that one of my favourite RUclipsrs talks about this game with the respect it deserves. I am honestly telling you I was no fanboy before Uncharted 4 but that game was like magic for me, made me love ND and Playstation more. I'm liking this video because I honestly thought so many people just didn't talk about all the small elements that contribute to such a wonderful story and atmosphere in this game. It's easy to miss them as the game has eye-candy graphics and good gameplay but there is so much depth in every frame. Thank you for this video!

    I bought my first PS4 because of the trailer I saw for Uncharted 4. But my first game was Just Cause 3, and I ended up liking that game a lot more than Uncharted 4. I had never played an Uncharted game before, and I wasn't all that impressed with it other than the graphics. It was cleverly scripted from a gameplay standpoint, but it didn't leave me with any lasting impact.

    Im glad youre giving this some attention. As objectively good as uncharted 4 is, i still feel its underrated. Watching this feels like an echo chamber, because i can only vigorously agree. Its just plain brilliant, and honestly worth buying a ps4 solely for this game, and lost legacy/nathan drake collection. Great video analysis. Thanks for the reminder to the world about why this is something that should be consodered a compulsory game to experience at least once. My fave part of uncharted 4, is the jeep drive in africa, and sully giving you crap continually about your bad driving. Id even intentionally drive off of cliffs just to ake him shut up and hear his scream of terror on the way down. Comedy gold, and its these kinds of details that make this shine so brightly.

    I recently had an argument with someone that said "console gaming sucks because aiming sucks". And I argued that if game only strength is flicking headshots, it's a bad gameplay and aiming a mouse at a point and clicking is not fun. Shooting by itself is barely a gameplay. And I said that playing with auto aim is ok or maybe even better as it allows to focus on more important gameplay mechanics and combat... not only clunkily aiming at headshots. Glad to see I am not the only one and you also use it here. You know - it's not gears of war that is focused on only shooting. You have so much more here
