A great theme to cap off the year, hopefully you had some sort of growth in you, maybe you became stronger emotionally, maybe you graduated, got promoted, patched things up with someone, finally got to do that thing you'd been holding off for a while. I personally got to beat some of my inner turmoil plaguing me for years, so hopefully you get to overcome whatever's plaguing you too.
Honestly, I missed having to take advantage of the Glider from 7. That’s what makes Rock Rock Mountain and 3DS Rainbow Road stood out for me. Having to descend and then ascend to gain height.
If that’s still a thing, we’d still have the hidden item boxes under Saturn’s rings in 3DS’ rainbow road, but sadly MK8DX’s physics doesn’t accommodate for that anymore… That’s the best part of 3DS’s RR
Edited Opinion (original below) I like this a little more than the original too. I didn't initially, but it has grown on me drastically. It's more funky and upbeat than the original, but it still maintains its sentimentality, and I think it fits the 8 Deluxe track so well. It’s different for sure. I think the original suits the track more, but I like this one a lot too. It’s more electronic than the original version, but it still holds some of the sentimental value, still think the MK7 melts my heart much more though.
for a game like mk8 it definitely fits right in with the rest of the soundtrack, but i grew up with mk7’s version so i like it more solely because if nostalgia and it’s just good lmao.

I can’t speak for Mario Strikers and Switch Sports as i never had any interest in those. As opposed to last year where i only bought Valheim and Metroid Dread.

In my humble opinion, 3DS Rainbow Road is the single best course in the entire game. Maybe even in the entire series in general, but to be far, I hadn't played all the MK games yet. But still. No course has ever given me more or a magical feeling than this course. It's fun, creative, and just magical. I wouldn't mind if this course was the last course of the booster course pass. Dare I say, it might have better to put this as the final course than Wii Rainbow Road (that course is still a banger, tho). I can't of a better course than this one. Easiest S-Tier of my life, and my pick for the best course in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

I'm obsessed with this track. I play it every time, even now in Mario Kart 8. It's a childhood gem for me because I grew up with 7 (and Wii). I even say, "I own this track" when I'm playing with others 😂
To me there’s a difference between the words Best and Favorite in this case. SNES Rainbow Road is the best because it has lots of speedrun potential and things can get pretty tight by the end of the race. But 3DS Rainbow Road is my favorite because it has great music, a nice track layout that takes you to the moon, and what I think defines a Rainbow Road track, the feeling of it being a send off to a Mario Kart Game. I’m so glad that Nintendo decided to bring this one back.

SNES Rainbow Road is the best because it has lots of speedrun potential and things can get pretty tight by the end of the race.
But 3DS Rainbow Road is my favorite because it has great music, a nice track layout that takes you to the moon, and what I think defines a Rainbow Road track, the feeling of it being a send off to a Mario Kart Game.
I’m so glad that Nintendo decided to bring this one back.
