As for Muhammad Ali himself, he appeared to believe in Islam properly despite being associated with a very deviant sect. I did read that he eventually followed the correct Islam before he passed away but I don't know how true that is.

In the last 5 years my dad was alive we could always judge his health condition without questions based off his humor.
