soldiers are being well cared for back home. How many field hospitals did Israel put up in the refugee camps to take care of the wounded Palestinianss? Imagine Hamas really would have significant presence in hospitals. That is purely hypothetical and quite an accusation that needs quite some solid evidence......
But if you then destroy or make dysfunctional that very hospital, you have the responsibility to provide any critical civilian service you have taken away.

Even if it’s merely a forlorn hope to achieve mitigation. From a legal perspective, it’s not possible to prosecute if you can’t also defend. And, from a personal point of view, even if any of the lawyers in that room disagree with their case (doubtful), they are making a name for themselves and raising their fees for the future.

I would just like to say, as a British person, I and the vast majority of the British public do not condone or support the actions of our own government. We can't even make our own government treat its own people like human beings, so trying to make them treat people of another nation, like anything other than human cattle, is next to impossible. There have been many protests in support of Palestine, but it has all fallen on deaf ears.
And on the issue of northern Ireland, if this was the 17th century, just after Ireland had a brief stint of independence. I would not hesitate in saying that Britain should pull out of the country. But because it has been so long, and the majority of people who live in northern Ireland want to remain British, it would not be democratic to go against the majority's wishes. I just hope that the next time they have a referendum, that the majority vote to leave the union, and finally Ireland will be reunited as a whole country.

Apparently in Russia when they went around the Yiddish-speaking Jewish communities to take census, they just asked the local rabbi what people's names were. Since the traditional naming convention was only name + patronymic, and the Russian officials wanted name + patronymic + last name, the rabbis just made stuff up on the spot, usually like 'carpenter' or 'goldsmith' or something based on profession, but if the rabbi didn't like you, you might end up being called something insulting lol

In a time where I have to look around on the Internet and constantly see people cheering for the death of my people and minimizing their very real suffering (the suffering that caused us to flee our home in Lebanon in 2006) and people saying even that the innocent children deserve it, to see a light in the dark brings me hope.
