To add to your point, IDF soldiers armed and in uniform ride buses and trains with civilians and use civilian infrastructure as the IDF doesn't have a separate transportation system. Israeli soldiers mingle more with the civilian population than Hamas, but hey every Israeli accusation is a confession.
I am not sure the reservist argument is proper. Those are people who have been trained to fight, not active participants. It is already grey ground to kill forced conscripts, much less people that have no direct involvement in a war.
Also, it is a very potent strategy, it was f.e. a major factor that strengthened the RKKA enough to absorb the initial onslaught of the Wehrmacht during operation Barbarossa.

Here's the problem with their claim that houses were targeted because they included a militant. At the start of the war it was estimated that there were 20,000-40,000 Hamas fighters. So far there have been 122,500 homes completely destroyed, and 269,700 homes partially destroyed. It is mathematically impossible for there to have been a militant in every home they demolished. At the most it is estimated that 3800 militants have been killed. That means that at least 118,000 homes completely bombed without a militant. That's not taking into account the building partially destroyed or the schools, churches, or hospitals.
Or the method being used doesnt actually take out hamas fighters. so either way they're targeting homes with no hamas, or even if they contain hamas, it exclusively doesnt kill them, which if it was the case you'd have to completely rethink who the chosen people are...

During the bombing of dresden during world War 2, dresden had a population density of about 3000 people per square kilometer. The allies dropped 4000 tons of explosives on dresden, and resulted in about 28k deaths. That is a kill rate of around 28k deaths ÷ 4k tons = 7 people killed per ton of explosives dropped.
Gaza has a population density of around 5000 people per square kilometer and Israel has dropped around 80k tons of bombs on Gaza--the last time I checked. Also there is no medical infrastructure or civil services working in Gaza--unlike dresden.
So assuming the death rate of Israel's genocidal bombing of Gaza is similar to the allied bombing of dresden--though I imagine it would be worse--about 7 deaths per ton of explosives dropped, then a reasonable estimate for the total deaths in Gaza--from bombing alone--would be about 7 deaths x 80k tons = 560k deaths. That is a reasonable estimate just from bombing alone.
Let's assume, then, that for some reason the people of Gaza are significantly harder to kill than the people in dresden--let's say half has many Palestinians die per ton of explosives. Then that would be 280k thousand deaths from bombing alone. And remember, the population density in Gaza is almost twice as high as the population density in Dresden, the Civil services and medical system are completely destroyed in Gaza, and the people don't have any food.
I just wanted to point out that there is a reasonable argument--based on historical data from past conflicts--that up to 560k people have been slaughtered in Gaza.
Even if half of that estimate is true, there would still be 280k deaths.
Lastly, the point I'm making with all of this is that 40k deaths is an obscenely low estimate the obscures the true magnitude of Israel's genocide in Gaza. This argument and these points need to be brought up more often, so I'm bringing it up here.

Bombing campaigns in world war 2 were FAR worse than the war in Gaza. In the bombing of Tokyo, between 80k to 100k people died in a SINGLE NIGHT. Look up pictures of the bombings. NOTHING was left standing. The ENTIRETY of Tokyo was smouldering ashes. Not to mention the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as the fire bombings of German cities. In Dresden, about 25k people were killed in the span of 2 days.
In the battle of Stalingrad, about 19k soldiers and civilians combined died PER DAY.
The war in Gaza does in absolutely no way compare to the absolute hell of world war 2. It doesn’t make Israel any less wrong, but you HAVE to stick to historical truth.
