Thank you so much for teaching the following rules, Rules; 1-separate Prefixes and Suffixes of the root words.(working =work /ing) 2- two or more consonants between two vowel sounds (object = ob/ject) 3- one consonant between two vowel sounds ( a-first vowel is a long vowel: robot = ro/bot ,ro =rou;..b-first vowel is a short. Vowel brother = broth/ er. ) 4-two vowels sounds together; (diet =di et) 5- words ending in-ckle. (Tickle= tick/le) 6-words ending in consonant +le ( table =ta/ble)
I am not a certified teacher, but teach English to young adults in Central America. This is a great tool!! I would love to get a video on Prefex's, and suffex's. I will start following you 😊
SINCE MANY YEARS I THOUGHT UNDERSTANDING SYLLABLES SYSTEEM IS A MIRAGE, BUT THAT WRONG NOTION ENDS HERE WITH THE HELP OF YOUR VIDEO. MILLION THANKS FROM INDIA- KERALA
SERIOUSLY THANK YOU!!!! I spent 2 hours trying to figure out why in Meditate a CVCVCVCV word was divided after the d instead of the e. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!
Thank you. I thought this was an easy way of showing how to go through the different syllable types in order for someone to learn without the unnecessary technical terms.
I have just a doubt about the word "result". You say in the video that the first vowel sound is long, but in the transcriptions of all dictionaries I've consulted so far I see that it's actually a short vowel sound. Shouldn't we divide the word in syllables but after the "s", according to the rules you've explained very well in the video? On the other hand, if we want to divide a word into syllables, should we only look at the duration of the first vocal phoneme, regardless of the duration of second one? At least that's the conclusion I've jumped at after watching your video. Thanks very much in advance and I hope you or someone can answer my question.
