A good rule to remember is when two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking.

I have just a doubt about the word "result". You say in the video that the first vowel sound is long, but in the transcriptions of all dictionaries I've consulted so far I see that it's actually a short vowel sound. Shouldn't we divide the word in syllables but after the "s", according to the rules you've explained very well in the video? On the other hand, if we want to divide a word into syllables, should we only look at the duration of the first vocal phoneme, regardless of the duration of second one? At least that's the conclusion I've jumped at after watching your video. Thanks very much in advance and I hope you or someone can answer my question.
