I love your videos James, even for teaching American English ESL students. In this lesson though the only phonetic sound that is very different between British and American English is the one for "on", which Brits pronounce more as "aw" like in "paw". Thank you Didier! Your English appears to be very good 👍 Pronunciation can be difficult but my advice is to really try hard to “imitate” native speakers. For example try to copy the exact mouth movements, tone, face shape until you are confident that you are making the sounds correctly. Another way is to listen to audiobooks and try to repeat what you hear as close to the reader as possible! Good luck and nice to meet you!

Never look at spelling it only confuses you. Hear the sound and the difference, good is shorter but food is longer. If you think about it food the vowel is stronger and long it doesn’t end as quickly as good. Less effort when pronouncing the vowel in good .

It's because *food* has a long sound like that ( fouud ) and good is shorter when u spell it (gud) that's how I learned it
