I think the overall structure of the gold system is to blame. 3mill for a faction house, no open auction house, guilds being greedy, gold farming, and lack of interest in the game play key factors.

I’m one of the more active traders on Xbox NA and both sales and prices are down dramatically overall. Also, rare and expensive items always took me multiple weeks to sell. Niche items like Praxis: Khajiit Enchanted Brazier generally took most of the month to sell as only collectors, and fellow flippers were buying these items. Now speculators are just not buying anything at all as these items are too volatile. The changes may have been necessary but they’ve destroyed the high-end motifs and rare item market…on Xbox NA at least.

I think they should give players the option to list items for 1, 2, or 4 weeks and scale the listing fees accordingly. This would give us options for items of different values/rarity and also act as another gold sink to help balance the economy.
Select a 1 week listing option for items that sell quickly and we can pay more for rare or expensive items that may take 4 weeks to sell. Just a thought.

Most of my ESO income comes from furnishing plans and motifs. These items typically sell fairly quick. I've been undercutting everything and only sell 1 to 2 items per day. This is way down from 10 to 15 items per day. I do agree that if an item doesn't sell in the first week it likely won't sell. However, I feel that there has definitely been a drop in trading. I honestly believe it has to do with the number of people playing ESO.

Usually games make luxury items gold sinks.
ESO made a gold sink out of acquiring skills/spells.
Really bad idea because usually the players that are buying unknown recipes are those who are casual enough not to have them already.
We don't have a lot of gold. We have to choose between a skill and a furniture recipe.

You are 💯 correct. I'm on Xbox and I've been playing for almost eight years. The market is ALWAYS changing in one way or another and you have to adjust accordingly. Does it suck? Absolutely. I used to make my gold on furnishings, motifs and plans. Then they added the "writ boxes" that killed plan farming. Furniture became more expensive to make and more players can craft them now. Jubilee event hurts the motif market. Gold mats have always went up and down for different reasons. You either have to price things to move or sit on em. There are more gold sinks now too, more players are into housing, crown buyers, scribing etc. Just hang in there guys, it might take a little longer to make gold now but it's still possible! Get a trader in Mournhold, Wayrest or Grahtwood.

I have been farming Merits in IC for years. Every 50 days, I purchase a Timbercrow Wanderer runebox, check the prices in TTC and list it for if not the lowest price then the second lowest price. The longest I usually had to wait for it to sell was 1 week. Since update 42, I have had to relist 2-3 times before I get the sale, even if pricing it lower than anyone else. So no, it's NOT just about the flood of mats following the Zenithar and Jubilee event. People just aren't buying, even things that are relatively scarce.

Well I mean sometimes what sells best really depends on the zone your trader is in too I find? I notice my resources sell best and writs do but the writs have to be cheap. I’ve been trying to sell an Assaults staff for over a month though, the high items don’t sell.
The market crashed in the anniversary jubilee event, hasn’t recovered since. The amount of resources I got in an hour was insane farming portals in Craglorn. Easily 1Million in supplies and other stuff.
People may have better luck with auctions perhaps. I have ok luck with getting what I want.

14 days is fine for most things but I've had some furnishings and rare mats that don't get noticed right away. Most people don't just look at the entire trader menu. They look for specific items so they may never see the other items

  • @1Apep1
    @1Apep1 4 месяца назад

Ink dropping from resources is not the only change that affects prices negatively. Farming dailies for scripts drops a bunch of stuff from older zones. The script trader in the scholarium is an additional gold sink, that is objectively not huge, but might cause some people to be more careful with their spending.
This also did not start with scribing. The change to jewelry crafting platings last year took a lot of volume out of the market. Releasing only two instead of four dungeons per year reduced the number of new styles dropping from relatively difficult content. Overland drops from Infinite Archive added supply and reduced demand for overland set items. This may have not been felt quite as much, but earlier this year prices for carry runs were lowered, so there had already been an effect.
About a year ago people were expecting chromium platings to hit a million and there were concerns what that inflation would do to the game. The current development does not feel good, when you are trying to sell stuff, but maybe it is at least healthy for the game in the long run. It has to become more stable at some point, though.
P.S.: 3:36: Pay attention to that heavy attack indicator bar! :D

Food recipees are so many, that they are literally unsellable, same for blue furniture scripts etc. I even have many rare purple items not selling because?----Well probably they are not rare in any way because literally everyone gets them? And now putting in items for only 2 Weeks is literally pulling the remaining money from you pocket. Prices are so down that I do not even bother anymore to enter green and blue writs. For me as a newer player, that is a massive problem, housing (for which I play ESO in the first place) is expensive and now you cannot even earn money to build up the gold amount you need for good housing. For people who earned tons of gold during the good times it is not s bad, but newer players have no chance.

And, I’m already sick of clearing expired items out of my inbox. Item that it feels I literally just listed

Your analysis is a bit skewed, though not necessarily wrong.
At 3:28 you quote ZOS that most items not selling within the first week typically won't sell during the listing period.
This refers to all items, yet you are using it as an argument for a subset of players with more unique sales patterns, like, for example, expensive items.
It could very well be that it's true for these sales as well, but this can't be deduced from ZOSs statement.
Anyhow, the changes shouldn't be an issue for most people, but I also noticed slower sales recently.
Not sure why it's slower, might be seasonal or simply post expansion / event fatigue.

This combination of things is having serious negative effects on every trade guild I'm in, but it's not reducing the costs...in fact, what the people bidding are saying is the traders are costing MORE to bid on. A shitload of people are being purged out of these guilds because they cannot make the minimum sale volumes and aren't getting enough to make the dues worth it.
The mats that I've farmed and sold the entire time are selling for _less than half_ of what they used to. Your point at 4:50 is completely wrong in my opinion. I'm not some "high end trader". I don't flip, I don't target big ticket items. I sell alchemy and crafting items and the odd pattern/recipe/ good gear item that happens to drop and it's not only _clearly apparent_ it's _transparently_ a problem.
It's not just a high end trader issue.
ZoS's changes are going to kill off a whole lot of lower tier trade guilds with their incompetent bullshit.

The market in eso doesn't correct itself because zos is always manipulating the market. This isn't some well thought out game where professions help one another and there are predictable market changes...no, zos will literally just spam every inventory with free items during quarterly or yearly events, change loot tables without patch notes, remove and add gold sinks, remove and add gold values. There will always be ways to make gold but the market won't necessarily make sense.

if it forces the players to sell at lowered price, i can only be happy about that. i played on ps4 for years. all these years all i ever saw were prices far to high. anything i saw i would have sold for either half the price or even lower. dreug wax, recipes, gears, etc. the vast majority of what i saw, i considered it as a scam.
dreug wax? i get those free easily from both mails and daily quests. thanks to the daily quests, i may as well say i was paid to get them.
recipe? i got hundreds if not thousands of them by simply playing/looting. didn't even farm. why would i pay 10k for a blue furniture recipe, when i can get it for free by doing any thing i actualy have to do in the game? again, i could technicaly as well say, i'm paid to get the recipe.
gears? again, i get paid to get them. why would i pay 50k for just 1 pieces of the set. was saying this when i started getting good. my opinion on this got all the more true when sets got to be recreated in the collection.
i may have millions, but i won't waste my gold on a scam. if i have to pay far too much, i'd prefer buying a house, like i already did lots of time. it's a efty price to pay for a teleportation spot, but at least it saves time on future characters. i'm happy to have the dominion's remarkable house, so i don't have to walk all the way to reaper's march when starting. + plus it's great as a storage for any furniture i loot. guild merchants need to lower their price? great. maybe they'll at last stop scamming, even if for just a short while.

It took me one year to learnt how read the market, what stuff is demanded by buyers every season, what stuff sale fast, what stuff sale slow, what stuff looks good but is just crap, what stuff looks crap but is really good stuff, THE ART OF RIGHT PRICING, etc. I think many YT videos about "get rich in teso in half hour" are just a big big scam and lie to noob traders. Many one day teso players want to get millions. I am a rich TESO man but it took me three years of hard work to get all my houses, my furniture and my bank savings and vaults for sale later. Sorry noobs but TESO is like real life, you need work hard to get the gold.

Is anyone other than item-flippers sad to see them losing-out? Scalping and flipping is economic cancer. So, personally, I'm thrilled to see these results. Regarding the TTC addon (and exe); its ability to export data from the game to a 3rd-party database, which is then utilized by a website, is fine; no TOS issues there. But its ability to _import_ data back into the game, for use by its in-game addon aspect, is against the TOS. If you don't believe me, read it yourself. Third-party software which lends players an in-game advantage over other players is a clear violation. And before you say that all addons are 3rd-party software; that's not the same. Addons run _within_ the game. TTC's exe runs _outside_ the game. The fact that ZOS looks the other way and chooses to do nothing about it doesn't mean that it isn't a violation of their stated rules. It only means that the rules are selectively enforce.

On another note, and this may seem like a hot take to many on pc, but not to me, i wish they would ban ttc and similar addons. This was not how trading was intended and im not sure why they allow it. You said it, "the problem is supply and demand". All of the factors you mentioned tilted the scale in the side of more supply than demand. Added to that is a big factor that I don't see being mentioned much online anywhere. However when you have the fact that now that Zo$ only releases new playable content once per year, you have a lot of people who have played the game for a long time but now only play when the new chapter is released due to there not being a lot to do in this game on a day to day basis. These people show back up, farm materials thinking that is a nice/easy method to make quick gold, play the new chatper, and then bounce when the content is done. With all that said, I think the market will correct itself soon, maybe a few more weeks before things get back to normal.

    • @Cooperharley0204

Yep 👍🏻 said in the video, listing prices sucked due to listing times being halved but listing prices remaining and that supply is generally drastically higher with inks and recent events as part of the celebration. So we agree and that’s what I said.
I still stick by what I said. My sales are not down - initially, sure, but generally with higher supply and lower demand, you have to adjust prices accordingly. So things are selling FOR less not selling less.
