Y'all are the best. Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching! If you'd like to support the channel even FURTHER, remember to hit that "Thanks" button under the video! Much appreciated :D Remember to like (helps w/ the YT algorithm big time!) and subscribe for more ESO content like this! Please comment below if you have any suggestions, questions or concerns! :)
Man just dropped all the videos he had lined up and wiped his hands..I respect it. Will miss the vids
I get it. I have all the same issues with the game that you have. I quit eso a month ago because it started feeling like a job. And I’m not missing it. Thank you for all of you content regarding eso!
You will be missed! I've really enjoyed your videos and I look forward to whatever's next for your channel.
Means the world man!
You nailed it with the chores and missing out. I've felt the exact same way lately. Busy with work and family but I keep feeling like I have to log in to get the seals of endeavor, but why? I re-started Baldur's Gate III and been having a blast. I finally hit a wall with ESO when I was feeling actual stress about not keeping up with the dailies, that's crazy!! Good to step away and well said! Will definitely still follow the channel and best of luck Sir!
What made me start having fun with ESO again is when I stopped treating it like a day job. Oh no my PvP build is 3 months behind? Oh well I'm still having fun. Oh no I'm missing events, who cares they rotate around anyway.
Exactly. This is the way. That's why I am still playing after years.
Did all of that stuff and then some. I’ve been creating different ways for myself to have fun for the last few years truthfully. Just kinda past that point now though ya know? No hard feelings, just ready to not be as bored as I am in a game I’m spending so much time in. Time for something new!
This is the key! If anyone read my long post on here, and wondered what the solution is... It's this (or quit). Otherwise, you will continue to feel like you're going to a job that you hate, every time you log on. As soon as you stop giving 2 f's about the grind, the game improves.
no one quits. They just come back at a later date.
Everyone quits, they just come back at a later date! :)
If you would watch the video, you would know he said he deleted his account.
Hard to come back if no account is there 😅
He stated that he deleted his account.
I call it the Skyrim itch. I come back until that's satisfied
This makes complete sense. There isn't anything I enjoy this game that I haven't used money on, and playing just isn't the same anymore. There so little being given to us, and they're expecting too much money for it it isn't a fair exchange what so ever. Putting time into this game has been some of the most fun experiences but its just not worth it anymore. I don't get the excitment anymore even questing where most of their effort goes into. PvP is dying, PvE is struggling, the market isn't as good as it was for gold and housing is getting its turn being screwed over. ESO ain't it anymore, and I've been looking for a replacement for it.
👍🏾👍🏾
Kaveex?🤔
Aww Cooper, I've enjoyed your content and videos, thanks for everything! Hope you find new joys (in games and in life)! I too find myself slipping away from the game again (the latest update notes were just very uninspired).
Thanks for your conversational approach to making ESO content. That was neither shill like or condescending. I haven’t deleted my ESO account when I found the fun lacking just in case a friend needed some help for some content, but I have definitely traded dungeons for real life interests like guitar and exercise. I support anyone who does something similar.
Sad to hear this, I did not expect it. Thank you for all the videos and guides you have created for the community, you will be missed!
Thank you!
Hey, it's really bad to hear that you're quitting ESO.
But I can understand you. I took a break from ESO for a year because I found the game so boring at times and it felt like work. Do the daily quest every day, etc.
Now that I don't take the game so seriously anymore and just concentrate on what I enjoy, I've found joy in ESO again.
Your videos have given me so much joy over the last few years and your streams have always been so relaxing to watch.
I wish you and your girlfriend only the best.
Much love from Germany ❤❤
I was thinking about picking this back up. Thank you for saving me 5 hours of installation
Personally I split my time between ESO, Magic Arena, and Marvel Snap. I like to revisit No Man's Sky whenever there is an update. I agree that as an adult, time is limited, so I appreciate you have the courage to take this big step. Wish nothing but the best and I'll catch your next video whenever it is. It may not be my cup of tea, but I might watch solely for the vibes. You have been pretty chill guy so maybe just watching you play another game might get me interested in it as well.
Bro! I feel like you’re breaking up with us😢
Never!! Just zenimax :)
It's a good game in small doses... I've been playing for years, coming back to it every so often and enjoy it when I do. MMOs and other grindy games should never be played full time otherwise it will feel like a job lol. Just come back after a while, then leave again, then back again... you get what I mean.
I'm a little sad to see you go, but I wish you the best and hope you are happy going forward.
Thank you so much!
Dude no!!! This feels like it is coming from nowhere - but looking back at it there were signs. I have gotten so used to your videos and you will be missed soooooo much! The fact that you deleted your account is very depressing. Good luck with your future endeavors. Since I only play ESO, here is to a very sad goodbye Coop😢...
❤️❤️❤️
Wish you the best and totally understand. These ongoing games are feeling more than ever like jobs. After spending almost 10 years with Destiny, I quit right before the final chpater and thinking ESO maybe next.
Thank you for all the vids you've done - and respect for reevaluating your IRL priorities. Family first, always :-)
Thanks for your videos, they have helped me immensely over the last year when I came back to ESO. I will probably be aging out of ESO as my PC is getting older and already struggles to run the game. The lag, drops, and latency issues are getting more frequent. Plus my RL is more my focus and the game has become like a second job just doing endeavors and dailies. I love Elder Scrolls in general having played since Arena, but sometimes life leads in new directions. Cheers - I look forward to seeing where you land.
Been pondering this myself. Zos over here monetizing everything while also having a subscription service. Meanwhile square enix is over there doing things right in ff14.
You filled the void for me that brah we got this did a year or two ago before he switched his channel and stopped uploading ever since. I really enjoyed your content!
Even if you choose to upload games I don’t play I’ll still watch and support ❤
I'm on a break until the end of the year. GW2 has my heart and soul right now and is my home MMO.
After ESO I tried to give a lot to GW2, but I just don't know. Something is missing from that game for me. I had a lot of fun, but I can't call it a home MMO. It may be interesting, but I dont enjoy their combat/class systems, that's why I spent a majority of the time flipping at the trading post. I got a lot of gold, which I didn't even use, it is like cookie clicker inside the game 😅 Now I'm taking a break on GW2 and still looking for an MMO
@@aranyidaniel After 6k hours+ over 10 ish years in GW2 and now playing ESO more it is tough to compare. GW2 has better combat but almost zero rewards even compared to ESO, which honestly feels pretty rewarding besides some crates etc.. ESO just feels like a complete ecosystem and livable world too (if I don't overdue it and burnout). Both are fun but its easier to sink your teeth into the world and lore, and unique ideas in ESO
@@ckrafty4 I did like ESO more gameplay wise. I think it's more engaging in combat and PvP especially, even the flipping part where you have to travel to traders to get good deals :D The biggest turndown for me was, that I've done too much crafting, I was a "master crafter" with 6 traits done on most gear parts. And you cannot really enjoy that with no subscribtion, that is Elder Scrolls Inventory Management Online. I did subscribe sometimes, but when I set new goals ingame, I bumped into a paywall or timewall, which I really dislike.
Psijic Order skills - You need the chapter (now it',s dlc)
Movement ring - You need the chapter
Maxing out Mounts - A lot of logins
Etc...
In summary, it meant no real life is allowed because you have to grind to get a lot of things. But, I'm really thinking about checking back to see what's going on.
Dude you have to do what makes you happy!
You have become one of my favorite content creators for eso, you will be missed!
I can't wait to see what's in store for your channel and will still watch and support it no matter what kinda content.
Here's to a brighter tomorrow my friend and good luck in your future endeavors!
Thank you for the Service, and VoD made over the years! Farewell For Niw!
PS. I quit 3 weeks ago, after 2.5 years, and 4000+ hours Play Time.
🤝🏻
That's insane because I just quit a week ago myself lol. Also, you should try out Guild Wars 2. It's one of the most casual MMOs on the market (great if you're busy irl) with easy and fast progression along with no sub fee etc.
wow. im legit sad. mad respect though and am wishing cooper the best for him and his family. will still continue to support the channel and am looking forward for some positive updates.
I watched almost all your content and videos and truly enjoyed your authenticity. Happy that you are living your best life and enjoying it! Awesome that you are training for a marathon. Its been a pleasure and honor to have watched your journey along the way. May you have a wonderful journey!
❤️
I’m with you brother, I have lately felt the same way, I’m a predominantly PVP person, and I find myself struggling to log on. From home tours to card games.. I appreciate your honesty.
I totally get what you're saying because I reached that point (for the same reasons) a few years ago and I haven't looked back and I know I made the right decision. You won't regret it. To be honest, at this point ( a few years after quitting) I don't regret playing the game the way I did ( I no lifed it lol) but I do regret not leaving sooner. Like a year or 2 sooner, but at least I finally did leave.
Yea it’s time to cut the chain for me for sure. Deleting my account solidifies that too. Agreed 🤝🏻
"I find myself logging in to do chores to not fall behind for what?" Exactly how I felt, I was making so much gold, and buying all of the dlc for free, but then I realized...the quests and dlc weren't worth the work. ESO has become such a bad game from design aspect that I won't even play it for free.
I get busy. I get lazy.... Then I get motivated and hit the gym again. Sometimes I get deeper into music production. Sometimes I'm busy rehearsing for shows. But I ALWAYS come back because it's my favorite game ever. Enjoy your break dude. Whether it's short lived or eternal. Thanks for the content 😉
I enjoyed your ESO content a lot, so I'll miss it. Best wishes on your new journeys!
Thank you!
I somehow saw it coming. Others have done this before. I'm still enjoying the game and the stories.
I wish you luck and happiness in whatever you choose to do.
I hope you continue to enjoy it! It’s a pretty fantastic game! Just not for me anymore :)
I am happy you are doing what makes you happy. Sad to lose you as a content creator for ESO. Excited to hear maybe one day you could be a WoW content creator. Good luck with whatever road is ahead of you, though.... as for your question, I still play WoW. It is fun and in my opinion, really getting better with each day that passes in recent years.
Sad to hear, but expected. You've been great to watch. I've been back and forth between this game for years but I don't have the guts to delete the account. Guess I'm afraid all the days and money spent will be for nothing if I did that. Best of luck with the family and whatever you decide to pursue in the future!
I only ever play ESO on the test server. I don't have to pay for new mounts or anything like that, most of the collectible costumes and a nice chunk of mounts are available, all the homes, and the only reason I'd ever pay for ESO+ is to have the craft bag, but that isn't even necessary since they have the crates of infinite resources. Basically just play once in a while to test new things and then bail, that's all I do anymore.
Great video.I only played for 3 years and can say that you nailed everything. From the FOMO and aggressive monetization to the lack of rewards and worsening performance. Not to mention the change-fatigue with the existings sets constantly getting tweaked along with the additional sets all the time. I quit shortly after High Isle as it finally dawned on me how it is truly a game that does not respect your time. It was great for a while, and I made some great friends, but it's run its course for me
Much respect to you, Coop. Thanks for covering ESO the way you have. I am actually impressed that you deleted your account. If you play other games in the future, I will stay tuned in for more content. Cheers to you and yours, always.
Thanks so much! I love RUclips, just need a new game to create content for! :)
@@Cooperharley0204 Maybe the content you could make next is your search for the new game: reviews.
Another ESO creator gone it’s been a blast cooper thanks for the videos brother you was a new spark in the eso content creator space the last year I thought you was gonna be Nefas’s replacement when he finally gave up with it I guess not I hope you enjoy whatever you end up playing brother thanks for everything 💜
Ive been following you since we have the same situation. 33, work at the hospital picking up shifts too. And crown crates being expensive to get radiant apex's is just not satisfying. I've also been furnishing my place since I just moved last year.
Already have dabbled into everything in the game including infinite archive, PvP, scribing/scrying/excavation/trials/vet arenas/vet . At this point I'm just collecting(buying) cosmetics really.
Take your time, mate. Life happens. I'm sure most of us here understand!
That one thing about FOMO you mentioned in the video, I agree fully. Just look at Jubilee event box farms, Zaudrus mask page farm, or any event box farm for that matter… the feeling of anxiety and uneasiness looking at others getting good loots in chat is the worst. I know those thoughts aren't healthy but still you know…
I'll stay subscribed even if you won't be making any more ESO videos. Maybe when you're actually free, you can consider recording some of the footages of other games you've been trying out lately!
The feeling that you're giving the game more than you're getting from it is relatable. It's how I feel every time I'm getting burnt out. At one point I was logging in just to get my 3 endeavors and then stepping out to do something else
It's not a consistent feeling, but when it hits, it's strong. Seeing people farm the style pages at Summerset geysers for 8 hours straight and not get the staff they wanted felt bad. Seeing people commiserate in zone chat about how many geysers (many over 100 without the drop), how many hours of grind all for a possible drop that couldn't even be traded
As a player, it felt disrespectful
How are we 10 years deep and we're just now getting curated boxes? And now that we're getting curated boxes the Undaunted boxes are costing more-it's hard to get excited about a 2 steps forward 1 step back situation. I'm similarly conflicted about Infinite Archive. Sure, the challenge can be fun but the rewards are so low and the cost for everything in the shop is far too high, not to mention the random drops which have very low drop chances (but then again, one common thread on this channel is the problem with ESO's reward structure, which even improved is still a problem)
Yea ultimately I’ve been waiting years for changes that still haven’t largely happened. And frankly that aren’t addressed by the devs often. I’m grateful for the HUGE amount of experiences and relationships they’ve provided me with via ESO, but I just know it’s time to cut the chain here and wish them the best! :)
After 6 years in ESO, I still love the ability to build /custom/ houses, but honestly? I don't really enjoy any of the other stuff. It's become stale with each new expansion basically being the same old same old with different cosmetics. If you come across a game with great housing, please post a video about it. Cheers!
I absolutely wish you the best. I 100% know how this feels. Destiny 2 did me in.
I’m super bummed you are leaving though. One of my favorite content creators in eso. Well if you ever come back come hang out on Xbox NA you will be welcomed back. 🤘
I only just found your channel but after hearing your reasoning. i get it. I've been dealing with the same thing with games in general lol. it's not just ESO that has bad rewards. I feel like a lot of mmo's are that way. I use to play a game called Marvel Strike Force. I spent 6k on that game in 4 years. I don't really regret it as it was what I needed at that time in my life, but no more. I deleted my account as well. I don't want to go back. I feel you man.
good luck on training for the marathon! I hope to see more of your content in the future.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that! Yea I just felt like it’s time to break those chains and remove the opportunity of returning. Gaming currently is pretty incredible and I’m ready to not feel shackled to something I’m not enjoying
Thanks for all your videos Cooper. sad to see you go but I can absolutely see your reasoning. All of the points your mentioned are problems that have been plagueing this game for years. instead of working on those they keps on adding new system after system and with every chapter that would also silently increase their workload. They just kinda bit themselves in the ass by not tackling this earlier and now I feel it's too late. Good luck on whatever you plan on doing next!
I'm not here to bash ZOS either, but i agree with most of your points. I had a back and forth relationship with the game. Always played alone, never really had friends interested on it for long or really grasped into a guild really well. PvP is a favourite for me, and you can imagine where i come from with this. Always trying to create new and interesting builds, always trying to play what i wanted instead of what was meta and being crushed everytime by the huge gap.
I see myself today doing writs on 18 characters everyday and really having no hope going foward. I'm wasking myself the same question you did. Probably i need to set things straight and stop waiting. I've been for long enough and it's too much time wasted. Life is calling me.
Thanks for the video, i believe many others needed to take a look out their window.
I have loved your video's, but I seriously get it. You have to play what makes you happy... otherwise it's just work. I will miss your videos.
As for other games I play.... Star Citizen is the only other MMO. I do a round robin of Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim... DA:O, DA2, DA;I (pre-ordering DA:V ) ... Fable 1, 2 & 3 ( 4 I'm debating hard on pre-order )... RDRevolver, RDRedemption, RdRedemption2... DMC ( all of them ), Neverwinter Knights 1 & 2, Gears of War ( all of them .. looking forward to the new one), & Mount and Blade.
Totally get it. I’ve been in ESO since Morrowind and got excited for the past few chapters only to play through the questing and move on.
Currently into Baldur’s Gate and The Witcher - compelling stories and no micro transactions.
Thanks for your content and best of luck to you & yours! 🎉
Take care man! It’s like saying goodbye to a close friend from school… Peace and Serenity 💜
Take care my man! :)
I can't see leaving this game. Not until something better comes along and im having a blast with midyear mayhem.
I fully understand, the consistent fomo makes the game feel like a chore. Skipping 1 day of gameplay means you lose out on a whole lot, which gives a sense of dread, and it shouldnt be like that. I am excited to play, but i dont enjoy the fomo
I'm really sorry to hear this but also entirely agree with you mate. I haven't been able to play for a few months due to pericarditis, finally had a bit of strength to return and I see you leaving, but I get it bro, it's your path, tread where it makes you happy. I took a long break from 2016-2020 to start a family, best decision I ever made. Peace brother.
That’s horrible! Sorry to hear that and hope you’re ok. Thank you for the kind words!
Good for you! Completely agree and left months ago. House tours? What a joke, no one asked for that. All they care about is their cash shop. I'd rather support a game that gives back to the players that support it and respect their player base. Zos doesn't, not even close. Loved your vids and you'll be missed!
I just came across one of your vids, then I clicked to your channel and I saw this vid lol.
I had exactly the same feeling as you, I play this game by accident in 2020 during Covid and got instantly hooked. Now, after 3-4 year of eso, back to reality, I just can’t spend the same amount of time and money investing in the game and the joy I had with this game isn’t really there anymore no matter how many content they release. And life have gotten so big and complicated then just eso. So I get you and “time” are only things that matter.
Enjoy your fresh start in life and I think you will missed this game later on but glad you moved on. 🎉
every time i come back to this game I quit in a few weeks. I played a lot in year 1 but went back to other games. I've returned to ESO 4 times now then just loss interest
WoW war within looks like a more appealing game, and so is Oldschool Runescape. Haven't played ESO in a few months now and don't really want to play again any time soon unless they redo the combat system in ESO
Aw man it was a good run. I really liked watching your videos. Your reasoning is solid though and I hope everything goes well with the move
Good luck in your move and life. Thanks for the info you have given us.
Hey man, I’m a big fan of yours and I quit eso 5 months ago and haven’t looked back, please don’t let this experience ruin your passion for creating RUclips content, there are tons of other amazing games out there to be played and you have me as a viewer for any and all future content no matter the game. Do what’s best for you and your channel.
I quit too, I like your channel you should cover other forums and reddits on different games it makes your channel unique.
I have greatly enjoyed your ESO videos and look forward to Warcraft. Have not played WoW yet and might make the jump too. Glad you are looking after what is best for you and family.
❤️
I respect the choice to delete your account. I just came back to the game, played for 2 years and quit for similar reasons. Now 5 years later I'm back, with the intent to stay casual and only play when I know I'll enjoy it. I have a lot to relearn and I've been spending too much time on it, but this video reminded me that I can't let it become a big part of my life because it will just end the same way.
I understand, I quite do. ESO was never my main MMO, and I feel its the problems you mentioned with it that prevented me from delving deeper than I have. Its been a casual curiosity if anything. I saw that the PVP event was going on, and initially I was thinking of preparing characters with quests for tickets. Then I just stopped. I asked myself, why would I want to do this? It wouldn't be difficult, or time consuming. However, what enjoyment would I gain? Collecting for the sake of collecting? Maybe if I was more invested, or the reward structure was more varied and accessible, but its not. Like wow I can get 1/3 of the Anchorborn Welwa this event doing the same stuff I did earlier this year and then add it to a mount roulette for when I'm running around Vivec doing writs.
I've always been an FF14 player foremost when it comes to MMOs, but I've always been open to other games to see what they do well. While ESO has things that I do like, it frankly doesn't have enough to keep me engaged as a consistent player. Also I've been playing FF14's Dawntrail why would I spend time on a pvp event in ESO over that?
It's great that you have improved your real life. I too survived through escaping rl stress by playing ESO. I finally found myself disengaged after housing became so crown heavy. I tried FFXIV's free trial and I have been playing that since and so glad. I can go back to ESO but my friends have moved on too to other games and there is nothing to keep me there. Developers have not listened in years. FFXIV made a whole gender for a race due to fans insistence. Good luck in your new travels.
Check out the indie scene bro. Truly the perfect panacea for the plague that is modern gaming. Good luck man, thanks for all videos. Will stick around to see what you do next.
I sure will! That means a lot thank you so much!
Wow interesting. Makes me realise how little do we know what's going on inside people's minds :) I think it's cool, sounds good to me. It's just a game anyway and life is more than that. Plus all stuff ends at some point. You seem to be a decent guy. I enjoyed your content cause you are honest with it. I wish you all best wherever you go and if you happen to create some content, hope to find you if our interests still match :) Take care, good luck, say hi to the doggo :)
❤️
Thank you for the vids. I enjoyed them. I hope you find your passion in future endeavors. I will miss your insights, but wish you well.
I feel this. I've been burnt out for a while on the game.
I've just recently got into ESO and while I'm having a blast with it (storytelling, gameplay, RP, etc.). I completely understand and see other side of thing too. You pointed it out quite well, so I don't need to repeat it.
And WoW has made quite a bit turn in the last year or two, they are making great content too I think...
I just think you made right decision, IRL is always more important, especially with a family.
So I wish you great journey further, may you enjoy whatever comes :)
Take care there and thanks for all .
I will miss u really. You had produced great videos, your comments about patches notes were refreshing. It is hard for many people find a good reason after many years to stay in TESO. For me is easy: i am a books, houses n diagrams friki collector. From Obilivion, ESO is about that to me. In the last year the motif sticker book is another good reason to stay playing. And someday i will learn parsing/weaving technique and became a trial vet lord master. Go ahead dear Cooper, the life have many good thing waiting for you!
Cheers :)
Just subscribed. Seen a lot of your vids, appritiate the honesty. I knew I was not playing ESO for long so I never subscribed, looking forward to where this takes you. The final boss was you all along, gg.
Damn... Well GL on whatever you do next. I had just discovered your channel and was planning to sub. I do hope whatever you do next is something you enjoy.
i am training for my first marathon in fall too^^ i hope you will get there injury free and have a nice race! marathon training is taxing your brain too so dont forget about that xD i had to learn this too and i am currently still learning since i am 7 weeks out ^^ you got this lets gooo
We* got this!! Cheers to you! You’re gunna kill it!!!
I know how you feel brother! I was on GTA5 online before I switched to ESO. That game was fun and I greatly miss it , but it was like coming home from work to getting on line to work. GTA online became too much of a grind… play other games. Get ESO out of your system and play something else for a good minute. Pursue another passion and see where that takes you-- And if this-is-it- for you take care…
I totally understand you. I have been playing for 7 years and taken a 2-year break just came back this April and all I do is just do writs, surveys, sell stuff for gold like a job. Which eso economy is about to bottom out. Im feeling the same way, that the game is just not fun anymore.
When i first saw the title i was like wtf is this out of nowhere?! but, hey i get it. Ironically im shifting from ESO to WoW because its a game ive always wanted to play but, never got the chance to play when it first came out. id love to see WoW vids for noobies like me lol
I’m sure I’ll see ya around! I’d consider myself a noob as well since I’ve been so on and off but once I get my feet under me in wow again I’ll probably make vids for it :)
Played for 8 years on 2 platforms. Was heavy into score pushing raids and trifecta groups. Got all the titles up to Swash, then realized I HATED the direction the game was heading. They hide this mismanagement under the guise of accessibility and making the content "easier" for casuals. When they made account wide achievements that really sucked the life out of the game for me. I enjoyed getting Raid titles on alts on different roles. The skill overhaul when they messed up all the dot timers was also a big reason I quit. It made combat way less interactive. Most of my raid team also moved on to other games. Not sure if I will ever return.
Whether it's burn out or you just need to move on to something new. I've definitely been there. I've been enjoying pushing through all the dungeon trifectas with friends so that's been fun for me. One of the things preventing me from burnout has been my work. I'm in the Navy and go underway for months at a time. I hope you find something to re-invigorate gaming for you. Don't feel bad dude. It's just a game. It's just about the people more than the game for me I guess.
Doing the daily grinds has become theraputic. The problem i have now is i have so much stuff that i dont need anymore like at start of game. Eso peaked between Vvardenfell and Elsweyr. After that guild participation has been declining.
performance, communication, monetization, and reward structure. The core pillars of everything wrong with this game. And its gone on and on and on. Its unreal how out of touch they are with their community. Ive heard from many people over the years that eso could be close to as big as wow or ff14 if they would just fix these issues. Pvp has been thrown into the gutter because of poor balance, but mainly terrible, laughable, performance. Almost every pvp player ive ever been friends with in eso, since 2016, is gone.
It just sucks. Eso has so much potential. Im not a quitting type of person but i do take breaks, and i find myself taking breaks more and more since 2020. Playing wow, playing other mmos. Even now i havent really played in a couple months. And zenimax will never admit they are wrong. Another issue with eso is a lack of substantial change. They dont want to switch things up in a major way. Scribing was mid. Every update is more of the same that we've gotten over the last 10 years. Things we dont want like TOT or this housing BS.
If performance was better, pvpers would be happy. We could actually play the game. There is nothing worse, in a fast paced action combat mmo, than to have your skills be delayed by lag. Its miserable. And pve and pvp players would be happy with actual rewards and incentives. Rewards for big achievements, mounts for killing bosses, rare items to sell. But what we get is just pure greed, plain and simple. Eso plus, the crown store, the furnishing tab in housing, dlc sales, garbage crates, etc, should be more than enough.
But no, they are too blind to see that the small amount of people that may not spend as much money in the short term, if they could get better rewards in game, would be well worth the amount of people they would pull into the game to actually stick around and buy things in the long term. And every year this goes on its less likley it will change, and drives more players away. Would be players, new players, vet players. And every content creator, vet player, and community leader, they lose only hurts the game.
It is what it is man, many of us are resigned to this. Its just sad to see it happen over and over and over. GG
if you're looking for suggestions of other mmos btw, guild wars 2 is pretty great. Its different, shares some good qualities with eso without a lot of the negative. Ofc every game has its issues, but i think its pretty great.
Good for you man, I play on Xbox and it's been hard for me as well to keep my interest in ESO. I mainly stay for the camaraderie and what not with guildies, but everything you said is totally understandable. Congrats on the move and future congrats on the family (lol) wish you the best 😊
Thank you very much! :)
Your arguments are very well stated. I talk to a lot of people who leave and think about 70% of the new players quit after three or four weeks, just because of the ceaseless grinding at $15.00 a month. It's boring. People think it is a form of stealing. Think about it. Six months to Level up a Horse? A year or more to level up all the levels of crafting? All this while they never fix anything. Even the fishing is still bugged. The truth is that they don't care about the game, they just care about the money.
Game is just boring, still has horrid social tools and persistent bugs and has no real challenge for long time players. There's so many good games on the horizon, ESO will struggle to keep itself compelling. Gaming should always be supplemental to your life, not the sum of your existence. I'll keep watching your content, because you have a great attitude and clear delivery. Best of luck in your new ventures and hobbies.
Thank you for the uploads
Over the last 2 years, I have done the same thing. I switched to Diablo for now
So this video is almost two months old at this point, but I'm gonna say what I'm gonna say anyway. I agree with you full heartedly that the game has really become stale lately. I've been playing since launch and I have had my time going all in as well as my time away from the game, the longest being close to a year. I bring up how long I've been playing for one simple reason, and that is to say I wish we had a channel like this when I was new. The one thing you do in your guides better than I think any other channel does is include new players when you talk about anything in this game. I'm not a content creator or have any experience when it comes to RUclips, but I would give this bit of advice no matter what game you cover with this channel. Keep doing that. Keep including the new players in these discussions. Keep them in mind when build crafting, or giving out tips and tricks to get the most out of whatever it is being covered. Thanks for the ESO content buddy. I'll definitely stick around and see what you end up doing in the future.
I feel a lot of the same way. Hung up the game about a month ago. Tired of poor performance that gets laughed off by zos if you're a pvper. Frustration hit its peak for me after i got a temp ban from their twitch channel after I lightly criticized their performance during their big live stream revealing housing tours (their main source of money).
There's lots to do for a new player. Someone could pick it up and have seemingly endless fun. I rarely play anymore, because what's there for me to do? Make more gold than I'll ever spend from writs?
Taking away the sense of achievement from mounts and armor is pointlessifying the entire concept of an MMO
I took a break from ESO for two years, i came back recently and have been having so much fun. Its important to have a healthy relationship with games.
Totally understand i really enjoyed yr videos even though i’m pretty new you take care 👍🏾
Thank you for the videos and best of luck
I stopped playing in January, came back for gold road, lasted about a month before the game started me feeling “unexplained grumpy” while playing. Then zos announced changes to warden Arctic blast and I’m done again. Now I spend my gaming time getting freaky with minthara in the sword coast 😂 … not going to delete my account with eso, but not going back, my eso+ is canceled. Feels good to not be “unexplained grumpy” during my gaming time :)
Best of luck for the future.
Same here, also played from day 1 now im about 2 years clean. I can't get hooked up again. For me the game died the moment it got level scaling, it was the first step
I quit dayz a few months ago I honestly had Stockholm syndrome for ages as I’ve played it non stop for years and was getting very bored and depressed with the game and the devs ,been happier ever since I stopped 🖤, hope you stay away and discover new games 🖤
This is how it always ends for anyone that plays long enough. Tired of 99% grinding and 1% pleasure, seeing through the reward system failures and wallet manipulation, exasperated by endless and pointless item and set bloat, let down by broken promises of improvement that deliver fixes no one asked for while the real problems don't even get acknowledged (much less addressed), and realizing that ALL of that is not only never going to change, but be purposely added to, just for the purpose of taking even more fun out of the game in favor of getting at your wallet and bloating player activity statistics. Eventually, all that's left is the social aspect, but if you voice these issues to your guild mates and game friends, you will get shamed, humiliated, and ostracized, as your social circle turns into an angry mob mindlessly defending it with cries of how the constant grinding is the best part, and how they give us so much, and you are just being unfair, negative, ungrateful, etc... Not every friend you have will turn their backs, but enough will that you'll be running solo content most of the time and eventually avoiding groups altogether. All of that said, I still play here and there, mostly only with family though. One thing I personally would never do, however, is delete my account. I get why you and some people feel they have to... so you never go back... But for me, I put the work in, I paid for everything, I created and collected myself to death on it, and it's MINE (Not legally or exactly technically mine of course, but MINE all the same), and I ain't gonna just give it back to them. I built a fully stocked guild hall, for example, that some of my friends and family still use, and I keep it updated. But even if I never played again, it won't hurt anything for it, or my account, to just sit there. I can respect why someone would delete their account though. Everything you said was right on the money... Best of luck to you!
Thats a brave decision, respect for that. Me personally, slowly step away from eso, and play WoW bit more too...
It is so true what you said: if you let it, this gane becommes a second job!
This winter I experianced the same thing, ESO Burnout.
I lost interest. I never enjoyed grinding for revardes. I enjoy playing a story and earning the rewards along the way.
I understand and respect you for the cold turky decission and wish you and your wife all the best on your next chapter....NO, STOP thats eso talk! 😉..... in your new house, your family and New games!
Thank you.❤
