Yeah......the mod community got tired of waiting around oblivion is coming to Skyrim next year. Like the whole game , it's gonna be a similar build to the tale of two wastelands mod for fallout 3 and Vegas.
What I think is that maybe Star Field was just a warmup for the team to learn about the new creation engine, and the Elder scrolls 6 will be the main goal...hopefully
Deep inside me I still have the small hope that they'll pull it out. Starfield is not that bad for the first time they're trying such ideas... On the other hand, imagine a hand-crafted world and it's not gonna be about exploring hundreds of empty planets. They must get it right. Perhaps that's just me trying not to lose hope though
@@kaydotcontent Yes it is that bad. Starfield shows 2 things. 1. That Bethesda does not understand what makes their games great. They focused all their effort and resources in the completely wrong direction. Most people knew Starfield was going to be mediocre at best the moment they announced 1000 star systems. There is just no possible way to make that into an engaging and meaningful game experience. 2. The DLC showed that even if they try to recapture that magic and make a classic Bethesda style focused experience, they are just not capable anymore.
It's taking so long because Bethesda needs another big fantasy movie or tv show to ride the coattails of. Oblivion had Lord of the Rings, Skyrim had Game of Thrones...hell, a lot of things in Morrowind were approved because Todd could be convinced it was copying Star Wars' homework. Now that Hollywood is just recycling old ideas, Bethesda has nothing to go off of.
I feel like 2026 should be the year it comes out. I don’t expect it in 25 and I hope they wouldn’t rush it. As long as 6 has around the same amount of content that Skyrim had then it’ll be fine. Bethesda doesn’t need to go above and beyond for ES6 they just need to enjoy making it and adding as much as they want. It’s been a long wait but if it takes longer to get it to the same level as Skyrim so be it.
There's a huge difference between Blizzard+ Bethesda and Square Enix in multiple ways. Bethesda is split into 3 companies (Bethesda/Bethesda softworks publisher/Zenimax), Blizzard merged with Activision and is now owned by Microsoft, so oops, running under another 2 companies like Bethesda is. Square Enix is still able to churn out Final Fantasy games and other games, while MS has to buyout game IP's rather than making their own (it's been years since Fable, years since the last Gears of War, years since nearly anything from them that wasn't utter trash). Blizzard is doing the same thing as well (Starcraft, Heroes of the Storm, Warcraft RTS, etc). Just having an MMO doesn't mean all games are stifled to hell, it just means the company is too big/ doesn't care to do anything else due to risk aversion (which is why MS just buys what works and then messes it up spectacularly). Bethesda doesn't have the rights to tell Zenimax what to do, because Zenimax is the parent company and on top of that parent company is MS, so ESO cannot just be "shut down" to get ES VI to come out any faster, that's not how this works. If anything, it's not the "golden goose", because I see plenty of companies out there with their respective golden gooses and they still manage to churn out games. The only ones who have golden gooses and aren't churning out games are the bigger studios or bigger publishers who have so much money, they feel no need to do anything (T2, who owns R*, who makes GTA, MS who owns Bethesda/Zenimax/Blizzard/Activision, Epic who owns Fortnite, that also owns Unreal Engine, one of the most used engines on the planet). ESO doesn't need to be shut down to get a new ES game, let alone faster. It's the creation engine that needs to go, and Zenimax needs to stop being the parent company, and MS needs to be broken up like Google will be, so the pressure can then be put back onto those respective studios and publishers (take a lot of what MS owns currently and split it up, and watch them having to work much, much harder to get anything done).
I almost think that they should have outsourced production on ES6, which makes me wonder where are their profits going? I would think between the success of ESO and all the various releases of ES5, they would be able to expand and have a second team of developers...
My friend said to me in the 7th grade we'd never see another elder scrolls release after eso came out and its been 8 years now im starting ti think Jason was right
I don't even want it until Bethesda changes DRASTICALLY. They need a change in management, to stop using the creation engine & to take a much different approach in their game design. Bethesda has been making the same game with a different coat of paint since oblivion and its just not good enough for people anymore.
I disagree with the take on Bethesda making the same game over and over again. Their game design was never the problem because games like Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrwoind, still hold up while Starfield aged in week. The problem is that they keep stripping away what makes their game design good in favor of some experiment and it kept getting worse with each game on top of just in general regressing their game design. With Fallout 4 they experimented with a voiced protagonist which messed up the dialogue system and made roleplaying harder. With Fallout 76 they tried to do multiplayer for an engine that couldn't handle it and resulted in one of the most infamous and buggy releases in gaming. Now with Starfield they took out meaningful exploration and decided to make a new boring IP that nobody is interested in. If they had simply taken the feedback they got from Fallout 4 and focused on making Fallout 5 and ES6 an improvement from Skyrim and Fallout 4, they wouldn't be in the mess that they are in or at the very least, they wouldn't be a complete joke now.
Gotta love watching my dad play Skyrim on the PS3 when i was like 5 to going into college for meteorology and not even knowing when Elder Scrolls 6 will release
Obsidian wanted to make a spin-off game in the Elder Scrolls universe, Bethesda rejected the proposal. This event is evidence to support your theory. Uninterrupted cash flow with TES Online above all else!
I was never one of these people who were hyper-addicted to skyrim. Beat it once and then fucked around dor a few ours a couple of different times. Loved the game but my bar is pretty low, genuinely only want skyrim with a couple new features and upgrades. Its gonna be hard to disappoint with the new release
This certainly was a decent video. I look at the views and thought okay not bad, then I look at your subscriber count and was shocked. Looks like this is the first video that blew up. Hope this streak continues.
my most anticipated game of all time. people are saying it will be bad because starfield was bad but starfield was bethesda trying something new. as long as we have ONE planet and obviously they know what they’re doing with TES i think we’ll be fine. It’s like saying someone isn’t good at playing the guitar but instead of telling them to get better, you say to them: “Well you were bad at the guitar so you will ALWAYS be bad at the guitar, don’t bother trying to improve.” The fanbase is indirectly telling Bethesda to give up 💀
Don't get your hopes up, it will be garbage. Skyrim was a very mediocore game with no depth. Weak story weak combat shit RPG elements. Mods and nostalgia only high points. Check out the Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon that looks and feels like it has a soul and Passion behind it
"Trying something new" wasn't the problem with Starfield. Items were bad, quests were bad and illogical, no meaningful consequences for anything, completely useless base building. These didn't have to be this way. Nothing new in Starfield forced the quest designers to produce crap. It all goa back to how Bethesda is managed. As long as Todd Howard and his incompetent cronies like Emil "I don't care about the story" Pagliaruo as lead writer are still in charge TES6 will end up just as terrible as Starfield. What Starfield showed however is that current Bethesda is incapable of making a compelling game and that a big part of the compelling nature of fallout and elder scrolls was other people's design and lore work.
I believe it was three years from Morrow to oblivion and then four years from oblivion to Skyrim, it is now been 13 years since Skyrim with no end in sight. This company has tremendously letdown their audience, and no one should even be talking about them anymore. Anyone who is in middle school playing that game is now out of college and in the workforce probably with the family lol
Man i remember the first time I went to buy Skyrim I saw a trailer about the vampire dlc and how you can also be a werewolf so I went to GameStop got it and got thru the intro and as soon as I got out the cave got attacked by a wolf 😂 and the second time ran into the camp of bandits right by the cave exit in the beginning and immediately raged quit 😂😂😂 never to pick it up until like a year or 2 later 😂😂😂
I wonder if the setting for the next game will be in the borderlands between High Rock and Hammerfell, like Daggerfall. I feel that Bethesda want to explore a new biome (deserts) but feel that a move towards the Middle-Eastern/African setting would be too alienating for fans of Skyrim and Oblivion who have come to associate Elder Scrolls with a Medieval European aesthetic. A game set between the two realms would kind of solve this problem, while also being a 'nostalgic blast' for anyone who played Daggerfall nearly 30 years ago. Perhaps a 2026 release (highly unlikely) would serve as a type of anniversary reference too.
After SO many big-budget movies, shows and games have BOMBED these last couple years.. I think studios are starting to become gun shy. It's simply safer to delay, delay, delay (and keep your job another year or two!)
From what I understand, they didn't want to just be the studio that alternates between TES and Fallout because it becomes creatively limiting and the games can quickly become turgid and samey. I know many will say that all their projects since F4 have been terrible but I'd argue that F76 actually was nowhere near as bad as people complained about, even in the beginning, and Starfield is a new IP that as well as needing to find itself also struggled with its extreme scale. How do you fill a galaxy like that with enough content that it doesn't begin to feel empty? From a technical perspective, there was little inherently wrong with Starfield.
While I enjoyed some aspects of starfield I’m mainly pissed that starfield was the reason we haven’t gotten an elder scrolls 6. Maybe it’s for the best starfield struggled and got well deserved criticism that I hope will influence Bethesda going forward.
At this point... idk if im even excited for it. Used to be a huge Bethesda fan, but they don't seem to be learning any lessons from their mistakes. Not convinced anymore that ES6 will be great enough to warrant just a huge delay.
Counterpoint: MMO players are a different subset of players than Skyrim/ES6. Multiplayer online games and single player RPG are completely different games.
I kind of see the ESO curse as a potentially good thing. If ESO is making steady money. It doesn’t put as much pressure on the development of ES6 (clearly). But often we see games come out being shells of what they could have been because of time constraints and investors/publishers wanting their money asap
Yeah, but that also means the single-player games become a side objective to them. Basically, putting their other projects on the side burner, none of the people working on it, will be passionate about it. Because all that effort goes to ESO and 76. The game ends up horrible, just like Starfield.
Bethesda feels like a studio that would benefit from having games released more fast from having different teams for each IP because their games sure feel like it is consistently made with quantity over quality in mind. There's no way Starfield should've taken 5-6 years with the way the content is snore inducing
Because its possible the devs have been plotting there new devious methods on how they might "appeal" the needs of console mod advancements and there players for TES V...
My guess is that the company is already making lots of money from ESO and the creation club content for Skyrim. They problem don't want ES6 to interfere with that. Otherwise, this game would probably be out by now.
If they want to milk skyrim and eso, they just need to open up the ip. Star Wars games flatlined, thanks to EA's death grip on it. It got revived, albeit distastefully, but it did. I would love to see CD Projekt Red take the reigns on ES6
Whats up with milking the 5th entry in a series? lol we got ES 5, GTA 5, and Persona 5 just off the top. I wonder if there's even more with the same pattern
I was hopping when Oblivion came out each DLC would be another province, They could still done that with Skyrim too so we would in the end have the whole of Tamriel to adventure in. I watched a video not long back in which a Guy stated to a point true, the Tech advance's from Morrowind to Oblivion to Skyrim where leaps and bounds, but have slowed quite a lot in resent years, SO Beth could in fact make a base Elder Scrolls world and put out a year or two later a game sized DLC that built on that expanding that world and another a couple of years after and so on and still make great money based on the same tech and still be bloody awesome and maybe even return modding back to what it was back in the Morrowind, Oblivion days, a way for young up comers tp learn 3D skills for free and get known. sadly by the time we get the next game I'll maybe be to ole to play it and even Gopher will to too ole for me to watch rofl
The biggest issue was that Bethesda committed to Starfield. Todd Howard specifically said that ES6 wouldn’t release until after Starfield, and that certainly implied that their entire team was focused on it, while a smaller portion started small bits of ES6. It would not be so sour if Starfield was successful, and if Oblivion had some sort of graphical update (not Skyblivion). Now, people are questioning whether ES6 will even be worth it… that is not the preconception we want. It means people will go in thinking it’s bad without even playing it. I’m calling it now - the game will be AMAZING - but it’s going to get thrashed around so hard that people will review it poorly. Good luck, Todd.
At this point they should give us a Skyrim 2 or re release it yet again and give us 4 new expansion like the dawn guard and dragon born dlc but this time make the game with the updated engine since it’s the best game the arguably have released until we get the next main line like a elder scrolls 5.5 or something
thats the issue I have...ESO players will still continue to enjoy and play that game. The elderscrolls 6 needs to happen, the game play is entirely different.
4:45 ESO has had a total of 24 million over it's lifespan, that's not how many people are currently playing the game. Steam charts shows ESO has 20,000 players on average. In total including Steam, Xbox, and Playstation, ESO has 800,000 players per month. ESO is not preventing TESVI, BGS' incompetence is.
Well if doesn't matter how many people are playing it necessarily. Its more the 2 billion in revenue they've made. If anything less players are easier to manage while they are also a cash cow.
I seriously can't understand why no AAA studio has made a game as in depth as RDR2 but in a fantasy style like Skyrim with all the loot systems and character building aspects. Hahah the intro to this video is brilliant. Lol😂
Yeah......the mod community got tired of waiting around oblivion is coming to Skyrim next year. Like the whole game , it's gonna be a similar build to the tale of two wastelands mod for fallout 3 and Vegas.
Many soldiers have died waiting for the release
I got serious kicks watching this 🤣
Mint video bro, very well done!!! ❤
Obviously.
This has literally been said 😂
@@Xalantorbro you have no idea what you’re taking about.
Starfield doesn’t have anywhere near to 1000 systems.
@@TheParagonIsDead where has that been said?
-They have no idea where to go with the story.
-Most of the previous characters before the Dragonborn weren’t power fantasies
Nerevarine being a gigantic exception. The most chosen one of chosen ones. Nerevar is such a Chad.
What is the profit on the 2 billion gross for an MMO?
It's taking so long because Bethesda needs another big fantasy movie or tv show to ride the coattails of. Oblivion had Lord of the Rings, Skyrim had Game of Thrones...hell, a lot of things in Morrowind were approved because Todd could be convinced it was copying Star Wars' homework.
Now that Hollywood is just recycling old ideas, Bethesda has nothing to go off of.
I'm to the point where all I'm actually hoping for is that they released the IP to a decent studio.
This video blew up! Your videos are really good man. Im definitely subbing. Keep em coming!!
Man's sounds like Johnny Bravo 👏 good video on all reasons why we did not get ES6 l..
Im just gnna wait for elder scrolls 7
This was a very well made video and I could tell you have a real passion about Skyrim like most of us
The True Detective shit at the beginning broke me
I feel like 2026 should be the year it comes out. I don’t expect it in 25 and I hope they wouldn’t rush it. As long as 6 has around the same amount of content that Skyrim had then it’ll be fine. Bethesda doesn’t need to go above and beyond for ES6 they just need to enjoy making it and adding as much as they want. It’s been a long wait but if it takes longer to get it to the same level as Skyrim so be it.
why did the mmo list have baldurs gate 3 on it
There's a huge difference between Blizzard+ Bethesda and Square Enix in multiple ways.
Awesome video brother!
did you just assume their gender?
My ball zack is gonna burst the day it gets a release date
I LOVE THIS DUDE !! GREAT CONTENT !!
I almost think that they should have outsourced production on ES6, which makes me wonder where are their profits going? I would think between the success of ESO and all the various releases of ES5, they would be able to expand and have a second team of developers...
My friend said to me in the 7th grade we'd never see another elder scrolls release after eso came out and its been 8 years now im starting ti think Jason was right
What's astounishing is when an entire gaming community want next elder scrolls.
but they lauched starfield.
why not just give what players want
Literally your problem

Gotta love watching my dad play Skyrim on the PS3 when i was like 5 to going into college for meteorology and not even knowing when Elder Scrolls 6 will release
Obsidian wanted to make a spin-off game in the Elder Scrolls universe, Bethesda rejected the proposal. This event is evidence to support your theory. Uninterrupted cash flow with TES Online above all else!
I just hope i will still be around when its actually out.
This is a well done video
I was never one of these people who were hyper-addicted to skyrim. Beat it once and then fucked around dor a few ours a couple of different times. Loved the game but my bar is pretty low, genuinely only want skyrim with a couple new features and upgrades. Its gonna be hard to disappoint with the new release
oblivion and morrowind are better. if you playd those you were hyped, then dissapointed with skyrim. lol.
@ yea tbf i loved oblivion much more than skyrim haha morrowinds beginning is by far my favorite out of all of them atmosphere wise
It’s like saying someone isn’t good at playing the guitar but instead of telling them to get better, you say to them: “Well you were bad at the guitar so you will ALWAYS be bad at the guitar, don’t bother trying to improve.” The fanbase is indirectly telling Bethesda to give up 💀
I fwu lookin at the issue the way you do, i'm very eager for the 6th entry
@ yeah fair point
just let us cope in peace
I believe it was three years from Morrow to oblivion and then four years from oblivion to Skyrim, it is now been 13 years since Skyrim with no end in sight. This company has tremendously letdown their audience, and no one should even be talking about them anymore. Anyone who is in middle school playing that game is now out of college and in the workforce probably with the family lol
I miss the elder scrolls.
Bethesda is very important to me and its sad to see what theyve become. I really hope they can figure it out.
I hadnt realized until now, but TES6 really is the new Half-Life 3.
I don’t want the next one to look ultra real. That’s all I ask. Something similar but better to Skyrim. Same story but continued
Bro blinked
Fortunately for me, I'm still playing Skyrim now.
Good video brother but please upload in at least 1080p
After seeing Starfield, I don't really know if I care about Elder Scrolls 6. But Oblivion is on its way, and I've never played oblivion.
“cuz they’re still making it.”
Anyone that associates the elder scrolls with classic medieval aesthetic is not a real fan. The lore and world is so much more than that.
At this point I would be happy with good remasters of the old games. I don't want the actual Bethesda to trying anything new for a while
I remember when they added the loot boxes 😭and removed all the good mounts from the store
4:45 i don't know who made this but apparently diablo and bg III are mmorpg now.
After SO many big-budget movies, shows and games have BOMBED these last couple years.. I think studios are starting to become gun shy. It's simply safer to delay, delay, delay (and keep your job another year or two!)
7:24 This KILLED ME!! XD
I had to sub after that 😂That made me genuinely laugh out loud
From what I understand, they didn't want to just be the studio that alternates between TES and Fallout because it becomes creatively limiting and the games can quickly become turgid and samey.
I know many will say that all their projects since F4 have been terrible but I'd argue that F76 actually was nowhere near as bad as people complained about, even in the beginning, and Starfield is a new IP that as well as needing to find itself also struggled with its extreme scale. How do you fill a galaxy like that with enough content that it doesn't begin to feel empty? From a technical perspective, there was little inherently wrong with Starfield.
At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if we got Elder Scrolls 7 before we got Elder Scrolls 6 😭
Multiplayer online games and single player RPG are completely different games.
mrs viking im your number one fan🤭
I kind of see the ESO curse as a potentially good thing. If ESO is making steady money. It doesn’t put as much pressure on the development of ES6 (clearly). But often we see games come out being shells of what they could have been because of time constraints and investors/publishers wanting their money asap
Yeah, but that also means the single-player games become a side objective to them. Basically, putting their other projects on the side burner, none of the people working on it, will be passionate about it. Because all that effort goes to ESO and 76. The game ends up horrible, just like Starfield.
When Skyrim came out I was about 24 fresh out of college... Now I'm goddamn pushing 40 with 3 kids and still haven't got a sequel 😐
Bethesda feels like a studio that would benefit from having games released more fast from having different teams for each IP because their games sure feel like it is consistently made with quantity over quality in mind. There's no way Starfield should've taken 5-6 years with the way the content is snore inducing
This is my first video I've seen from you, love it man keep it up! Subscribed
He sadly passed away. rip
Because its possible the devs have been plotting there new devious methods on how they might "appeal" the needs of console mod advancements and there players for TES V...
I’m kinda glad it’s taking so long. If it came out and was a let down like fallout and star field that would be worse
Longer you work on it, more expectations go up....they made a BIG mistake
Remaster morrowind it’s already written just needs to be reworked, loads of people haven’t played it
I just need an Elder Scrolls game that stretches all across Tamriel 😖
Eventually we all just will stop to expect the game, like happened with hl3...
The real question should be will it be any good
My guess is that the company is already making lots of money from ESO and the creation club content for Skyrim. They problem don't want ES6 to interfere with that. Otherwise, this game would probably be out by now.
Happy 13th! Yeeeehaaaw!
Me: Mom, I want elder scrolls 6!
Her: we have elder scrolls 6 at home
Me: but it's the dollar tree version
😢😢😢😢😢
We’ve gotten 2 presidents in a half since they release that trailer
If anything less players are easier to manage while they are also a cash cow.
why would you want it after seeing starfield
After Starfield... i've pretty much already written ES6 off
