Two badass guitarists…and people here are painfully critical. Steve loves distortion. Leave him be. If you want to plink, then plink. Gents…there are NO rules.
Seriously, these studio guys are awesome, reading/theory/arranging/performance. It becomes part of their Zen awareness of the oneness of everything. The more you know the more you know the less you know. These two guys Listening to each other... That's what it's ALL about. Never treading or repeating. Equally uniquely especial... And honest.

In another reality after the shock and awe settles in about mid jam Lukather says "Oh.. That was the R9 59 copy." Sets it down and grabs the "real" 59" and continues jamming much to the disbelief of the guitar nerds. Own 2 LP 59 reissues, played a few original 59s... Also Lukather could write / perform / win Grammy on a Chinese sawdust LP copy. A bad one!!
what is the point of having such a tone monster if you put skinny little strings on it and cover up all the sound with so much distortion and other krap, it becomes just generic.
You can make most guitars sound surprisingly close to each other… its all for the player. Thats what folks dont seem to realize with shoot outs or why x guitar is more money than y guitar but sound the same. Its all about the first person experience. Lots of cars can drive fast but the one that feels good for you is all that matters since thats the one thatll inspire you to do cool shit
Pickups and hands are the most important elements to guitar sound. Everything else is inconsequential. Put those 59 pickups in the cheapest Epiphone and have Luthaker play it and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
Luke is THE guy that took the driven sound of an electric guitar combined with his melodic approach and got it onto so many pop records. His tone is fine but you may want to clean the turd out of your ears.

チャーの嬉しそうな顔が、いいね。昔のUSJを思い出しますね😂😊😊
Only way to get Steve to stop talking is to get him jamming on his guitar 🤣
Should of done some blow with him in the 80s 🤣
FOOOCKING AMAZING JAM BRO!
Steve is the absolute man, and that 2nd passage that Char played up on the high end was so sick.
Amazingly good

Should've played some more 80s funk rhythm. Steve's rhythm chops are so good

What song is that?
it's not a particular song, it's just a Jam.
Like to hear it with out. The fuzz. And overdrive. Or cant they play with out of it?
That char bloke has pretty damn clean sound
You can always go listen to that jazz put you to sleep music if you don't like distortion
Pity their guitars aren't in tune with eachother
ya it's hard for my ears
@@jeremidumais6769 Thank god I'm not the only one hardly listening because of tuning !!!! Although I love Luke's playing

Obviously you're not much of a guitarist if you think heavy guage strings adds improved tone

Please, this is Luke. Just stop the whining. He is one of the best to pick up a six string. The End!!!
