@@resireg I find it can be done on this fine, but it does need a lot of listens for some people to tell, as the chorus also swaps and the 2 never sing together which is clever. Incidentally, this is the song where ONLY Agnetha sings the title of it, but in 'You Owe Me One'-recorded around the same time, only Frida does. Interesting huh? And in that song, Agnetha is singing AROUND Frida on the chorus but never with her. Very excellent stuff.

They sound as lovely as they ever did on this song. Thank God we got these songs later on even without an official album. Interesting sound here that kind of tugs at my heart to be honest. What wonderful wonderful ppl ABBA are.
ABBA all the time had the sensitivity in their songs, to show us the things of life as they are... Also these four swedish talented artists had the knowledge of the english language as it was their own.
"The Day Before You Came" was the last song Abba recorded on August 20 1982. They recorded "I Am The City" on May 8 1982, but disbanded before they got round to releasing it - which was a major blow for us!
Even though english was not their native language, they were better at meshing melodies with words that went smoothly together than the Americans or Brit's. ABBA always wrote the music first and then Bjorn would listen to the recording and feel what the song was saying. Then the lyrics would come. The lyrics serve the music. Many American/British songwriters seem to write the other way around -- the music serves the lyric. ABBA's song 'I Let The Music Speak' tells you how they let the music tell the story and the lyrics flow from the music.
I'm liking this song more and more. I wasn't crazy about their 80's stuff before, but now it's grown on me. Lots of interesting songs from that last period.
I feel the same, I now love more to listen to under attack, head over heals, I am the City, slipping through my fingers than the most popular Abba songs just because I feel the newer ones have a lot of experimental sounds and are very refreshing to hear and well made. that type of stuff in pop music is very refreshing
"I am the City" is one of my favorite ABBA songs. I am a city-boy, not only at heart, but born and raised. This song makes me feel connected to the urban environment I call home, and unashamed of my concrete roots.

This is a Great unrelease track taken from the More ABBA Gold Collection release in 1993, ABBA Should have added this to the ABBA Voyage Show playlist in London.
I think this song was released around the time they were about to call it quits. Seems kind of weird that many of their songs didn't become top ten, but it all depends on what most of the public likes
BroccoliQueefed, this song was not released until 1993, I'am the City was to be included in what would have been ABBA's 9th album around the times they called it quits, This song and other song including on the album would have been Just Like That, Cassandra and You Owe Me One Under Attack and The Day Before you Came were Mention in the Press, but were never released and ABBA decided to call it a day by releasing there greatest hits album the first ten years.
ABBAFANGLOSUK! Truly a great song. I did a lot of business travel for my company in the States for about 3 years at all hours of the day and this song expresses what I felt every time I was descending into each city. (especially at night) (too bad I never even knew it existed until last year) Great addition in the beginning with your mix. Downloaded this into my IPod last year and for about 3 weeks last Summer and played this version full blast every day as I drove around. (and I'm in my mid 60's!) What a tremendous group ABBA was/is. I wish Anni-Frid and Agnetha would collaborate on an album together of new material for all the umteen fans out here. Not ABBA rehashes but just something new, perhaps about their lives, fame and the last 30 + years. Every time I listen to them harmonize, it is a thing of beauty! They had that certain 'Je ne sais quoi'...
although i am what people would consider a "metalhead", i've started with abba, roxette, the queen and the beatles as a kid. and up to this day i still adore that music and this is still my favorite abba track
I wished Abba had continued through the 80's. I was 11 when they won the Eurovision Song Contest - which was just awesome! The week Dancing Queen was no1 was my 14th birthday September 1976 - my favourite song of all time! Little did I know especially walking home from school that some of the songs that were going through my mind were going to be so famous! Loved Abba then love them now at 57. School days don't get better than this.
I'am the City was suppose to be release song for what was suppose to be ABBA 9th album what was originially suppose be release in 1983 which never was release as they broken up by then and now 38 years later in 2021 we are excited about the release of ABBA Voyage.
This was ABBA original plan to transform into New Wave Band had they not had split up at the end of 1982. They would had competted along bands like Duran Duran and Thompson Twins.
Yes you're right, they could have released singles from their last batch of unheard songs like this one after they split to keep the fans happy for some time and make those songs much better known. Their songs became more technically complex as the group progressed, so later songs like this were well ahead of their time and still sound current. Their harmonious singing is superbly orchestrated with this fast paced music, as only Abba can do it!
ABBA' s the better and greatest music of all Galaxy . Så Fin Låt . Såååå Vacker . ABBA is absolute beauty and perfection in the world pop music forever . Those voices are of one angelic beauty .

This is a Great unrelease track taken from the More ABBA Gold Collection release in 1993, ABBA Should have added this to the ABBA Voyage Show playlist in London.
誰かが高校時代に、希望する大学の受験で合格祈願を兼ねて、希望に満ち溢れながらこの曲を聴いていたものだったのです。
What a brilliant, brilliant song.
I,m 55 and I love their music; it,s a shame music deteriated to noise -rap crap
a fantastic ABBA tune, not heard enough!
Best ABBA song EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i said it before i say again Abba produced REAL MUSIC.
J'ai du écouter cette chanson plus de 500 fois, je ne m'en lasse pas !
Fastforward to 2021...WELCOME BACK ABBA! 😁
İt's still a great work in the year 2022. Thanks to ABBA again.
It can be remembered that it was being played by a flute since this I often listened to this song in high school days, and I'm very homesick for that.
Nice musical hook and chorus. Another fun, cheery ABBA gem that I never heard until now.
One of my favourites high energy would go down a storm at any disco.
A most amazing song and sounds, great talent is ABBA !
Ohne Worte 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😍😘😘😘😘🤗🤗🥰🤗🤗🥰

なんだかんだと言って、ABBAのすべての曲の中で、この曲が一番好き。
oh my god. i thought abba ended with the visitors. everyone else in pop is an amateur. this is amazing.
I'am the City was suppose to be release song for what was suppose to be ABBA 9th album what was originially suppose be release in 1983 which never was release as they broken up by then and now 38 years later in 2021 we are excited about the release of ABBA Voyage.
Merveilleux.
one of the best bands of all time - can't mess with them
Love the overlay of chorus & verse at the end! Definitely under-rated
I really love how ABBA always inserts there verses at the end with the mane song, and they do it to almost every song. It fits wo well
Love hearing new unheard ABBA songs 🙂👍
Encore un titre ki aurait fait un tube sans aucun doute..du grand Art
Just by chance got to this!!! looking for ABBA lyrics....my goodness love it!!!
The song shows that ABBA could have transitioned into New Wave seamlessly had they not had their internal issues.
This is how they would have sounded if theyd kept going after the visitors.
