I fished Bowman"s back in the early 2000's...we always caught a bunch of fish. My money combo there was a Charlie boy hopper or a stone fly with a size 18 fly formally known as prince on the bottom. I just watched three of your vids...It nice seeing my home waters fished. Keep it up guys!!!
Hey guys, I regularly go to Bowman's Island and have a lot of luck. Especially where the 3 big logs that make a triangle shape in the middle of the river is(caught some 3 lb bows). I only use spinners, I was there this past Tuesday and caught a lot (especially the fingerlings) - TIP: They usually stock Mondays at that boat ramp. KEEP ON MAKING GOOD VIDEOS I enjoy them!
Stumbled upon your channel while deployed. I’m from Ohio where we don’t have many trout streams, but I’m living my fly fishing life through your videos. Keep up the great work
Hey bud not sure which part of Ohio you're from but if you ever wanted to take a drive 50 or so miles east of Pittsburgh I have extra rods and there are TONS of fishable streams.
Bob Price I appreciate the offer. I have plenty of rods. Mostly 5-7 weights. I’m sure I’ll get out there sometime soon. I get out in about a year and I’ll be heading back to good ole carp rivers in ohio
Thanks for the comment. I used to live in Wooster, OH about 25 years ago. I wasn’t a fly fisherman back then but I would assume there would be some close to Erie.
Just found your channel. Great content and production, guys. Gotta be honest, thought it was all just a "crank bait and bass show" in Georgia. Nice to see there's some fly fishing there. Keep up the great work and "tight lines" from Central Oregon.
Welcome to the neighborhood! Jones Bridge is probably your best bet to get started. It’s pretty straightforward: lots of good runs and a few deep holes. Not much of a dry bite there, but you’ll do fine with streamers and nymphs. Let us know how it goes!
Was at Bowman's on Sunday. Gorgeous day and we caught some trout in the couple hours we were there. A lot of small guys though. Went over to Island Ford and hooked a monster (must have been 2 pounds or so) and lost it... really disappointed but a great story after. Hopefully I see you guys out there one day!
@@GoodBuddyFlyFishing we were exploring it for the first time and there is very little access we could find to wade out.. Too many swimmers in the few we could find. That was the only bite there but I definitely want to float that stretch and give it a hard fish.
$40 last 9th cast for John by the way. That's Karma. However, Syndicate is awesome. They will get you out a new ferrule quick, for such a reasonable price. Love my 10' 3 wt.
Love the vids as always. Just wondering why you guys aren't wet wading? Planning a trip up around there soon but just always wet waded if it's earlier than October.
Great footage as always. Nice fog coming off the water. Wonderful to see you both on so many fish. Very unusual lol :), your words, not mine. Question though. What editing software and camera do you use. Always curious what good creators do. Keep up the good work guys!
Thanks man. The fog was a gift for sure. We use a Canon SL2 to shoot (and a GoPro every once in a while). We’ve also used our phones if it’s raining and we can’t use the DSLR. We use Premiere Pro to edit and After Effects for any animations (none this time). What are you using up there?
@@GoodBuddyFlyFishing Glad to see a person using a camera that is reasonably priced. I may need to look into one. As of right now, I use a Go-Pro Hero 5 Black, and I have a second Go Pro Hero, it was being used with my Catch Cam Net, but recently I have not been taking it out because I find it to be a bit bulky. For editing I have Premiere as well, but not pro. I think I am going to look into buying Premiere Pro/After Effects, or just buy their online subscription for $20 a month for teachers.
Post more videos! :( I literally watched every single video today 😂 such great friendship and fun y'all have
That’s awesome! Check out the one we uploaded today...

No virus can stop two good buddies from fishing together. Glad to see you guys again.
It was great to get to fish and film together. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video guys! Keep it up. looking forward to watching more.

Sweet, epic day! Love the commentary, keeps me smiling through the whole video:)
Been there a lot. This is exactly what happens at Buford Dam. You guys come fish with us. Castin' And Cussin'!!!
I love it!! One last cast! I can relate to that phenomenon
Sitting at work watching trout fishing videos and Steve Heimler pops up lol.
Could you recommend some summertime fly patterns for bowman’s island ?
9th last cast! Great video guys. I was rolling at all the slips.
Pretty awesome videos, pretty cool we got to meet you the other night. Tight lines gents...
Thanks Cameron. See you again soon.
best fly fishing youtubers!!
We really appreciate that. It’s super busy for both of us right now but we hope to get another video shot soon.
Happy Holidays! Hope we can expect another video under the tree for Christmas!

Thanks for watching. Yeah, Georgia has some pretty great trout fisheries. North GA especially. The Chattahoochee is a great tailwater fishery as well.
Hey guys! I just moved to GA and am new to fly fishing. Any tips for fishing this river ?

Glad to hear there are still fish over at Island Ford. We haven’t had much luck there the last few times...

Okay, that’s been our experience too. It’s sad because that used to be our go to...

Agreed: Jon deserved a cracked rod. But I know the Syndicate folks will help him out... they’re great.
How do you get to Bowman's Island?
Love the vids as always. Just wondering why you guys aren't wet wading? Planning a trip up around there soon but just always wet waded if it's earlier than October.
We both had places to be after fishing so we needed to stay reasonably dry...
Also, the water coming out of the dam is typically in the 50s all year around so that contributes to the decision to wear waders as well.
Jon? Steve? Come back!
We will. Hopefully this spring we can start back. Steve has been working like crazy on his Heimler’s History channel for his students. I miss it.
GOOD BUDDIES WHERE YOU AT
Super busy but we will be back soon.
Hey its alright Jon I mumble also! Great fishing video. I wish I could come fish with you guys or show you some good places in Utah.
If we’re ever in Utah, we’ll look you up. Do the same if you’re in Atlanta...
Sorry I missed out on that trip guys. I won't burst your bubble about the stocking thing, you still gotta catch them.
Yeah we missed you too. Next time, sir.
Y’all should make a blooper reel Of y’all falling and snagging each other
For real. It happens in every video.

I’m hitting it up today wish me luck!!
How is the CABELA’S waders working out
They’re working out just fine. No complaints thus far except the belt isn’t attached. I always get to the river and realize I didn’t put it on...
Good Buddy Fly Fishing which model is it
Where is the parking for this spot?
Look up Lower Pool Park on a map and you’ll see it. From the parking lot it was about a 10-15 minute walk downstream...
Hope all is well, hadn't seen a video in a while.
All is well. I am selling my house and going through all that mess and Steve is pretty busy too. We hope we can get out and film something soon.
You guys doing ok? Haven't seen anything new in awhile?
Just put one up today...
Did you guys walk in from the dam or hatchery? Been wanting to go to Bowman's for a while but haven't had the chance.
We walked from the Dam. Took about 10-15 min, but totally worth it.
I liked it better as angling satire.
Don’t worry: I’m sure we’ll get back to not catching soon enough
Please
Do a umpqua video
Are we we supposed to wear life jackets while we are up near the Buford dam?
Yeah. You can get a ticket without it
Who ever disliked this video is a disgrace
You can never make everyone happy. But there was one guy who commented on this video that felt like we messed up his secret spot.
What happened to you guys?!
We’re back, baby
