    My fix was a simple tightening of the positive connections. Check engine light turned off. However, it didn’t fix the radio restarting during eco start. Changed the rear battery and it in turn fixed that issue. Moral of story, start with the cheaper and simpler stuff before buying unnecessary parts.

    I recommend disconnecting the negative on the aux battery first because when you disconnect the starting battery, power is still running through some of the systems. I learned the hard way. I had to replace the high voltage fusebox, and I let one of the positive connections touch a bolt and it sparked.

    Replaced both batteries and alternator. Engine light still on and has trouble starting cold in the morning. It worked well for a week and now it’s doing it again. Completely drained the battery last time. Also, seems to shake a little bit and RPMs rev up and down.

      I replaced my battery and I have code p3055 and p3056
      I looked online they say it’s this part # 13514044
      Just ordered it it has to do with the auto stop/start

  • @SweetestNya
    @SweetestNya 3 года назад +9

    So why does the engine light come on and not the battery light? So basically I need a new small battery? The code p350f says control module... is that an actual part?

    • @Rock_Reggae_Riff
      @Rock_Reggae_Riff 2 года назад +2

      The battery light pertains to the charging system, aka the alternator. The control module (Multifunction Power Converter)is responsible for the start/stop feature, and supplying power to essential systems when the engine cuts out when you're at a stop. The module is just complaining that the auxiliary battery voltage is below the minimum threshold, which is 12v.

    I had the same code on my 2018 Chevy Impala. I pulled in the garage to check the wiring on front battery under the hood and everything looked good. I closed the hood and tried locking up the car and nothing happened. Now the car will not start or turn at all. I can't even use the button in the car to open the trunk. It's dead. Tried jumping it. It started for like 5 minutes and then just turned off. If I replace that small battery in the trunk will that solve the issue?

      @@westganighttrain5166 I changed both batteries and it fixed the check engine light. I think they were testing fine because they are wired together internally and together had enough juice, but both were worn out. If you never replaced, that is likely the issue. Mine lasted 6ish years, so not awful but not cheap to change both agm batteries either. Def gonna avoid auto-stop cars moving forward tho...

      @@westganighttrain5166 Glad that solved it! Definitely seems like a flaw in the engineering not to have a separate low-batt warning for each one, but that seems to usually be the problem when this code gets tripped. Hopefully changing them every 4-6 years will keep it at bay...

      @@princessc1521 if your small battery is fine it’s probably the cables are loose or bad/ worn out. I had my main battery replaced in November and it solved the engine light but screen still did this. Last month the light came on for the same code and it turned out the cables were loose and old. I got a new small battery too( even though I didn’t really need to just so I won’t have to worry about it anymore) and that solved the problem. Not super pricey for the cables.
