Wow, this is an enormous amount of great info. This will be helpful to us and to other viewers new to the group. Thank you for taking time to do this! 👍
Dreamcatcher walked so other groups could run. They never reached the popularity they deserved because they were pioneers, but they made it okay for other groups to incorporate rock into their sound and be accepted. Regarding biases, DC is an odditie for me because when I decide on a bias I usually stick to it. But here Dami (the rapper) was my original bias, and although I still love her dearly, Siyeon (the different-colored eyes one) has absolutely taken me over...
It took them 5 years to get notice and won a music live show by south korean citizens. I guess koreans don’t like the rock concept that much. Took them long but im pretty sure they felt a sort of accomplishment.
@@JohnT20881924 days is still a gg record for winning after debut. Should have been much sooner if you believe in show numbers anomalies or counting error shenanigans on the times they got close.
Despite the genre and style of music not being popular in Korea I think the reason they were able to find success is because their music is actually really good if not great. Dreamcatcher is one of the few kpop groups who I actually buy their albums and listen to their B-sides in the car or around the house at the gym ect.
Its getting popular due to dream catcher though. Took very long but its getting somewhere. Tough for dreamcatcher though cause when they started this concept wasn’t a thing
*Dreamcatcher* is so amazing and extremely underrated, thank y'all for reacting to them. I will recommend you react to the song that finally got them their first win after years of trying. It deals with environmental issues: • *"MAISON"* by *DREAMCATCHER* --- 2 Other artists I highly recommend --- #1 - *SONG SOHEE* is known as the *"Traditional Music Girl"* is a South Korean Gyeonggi minyo, pansori traditional folk singer. She combines traditional singing with modern sounds, this song is an experience. • *"INFODEMICS"* by *SONG SOHEE* #2 - *THE HU* is a Mongolian folk metal band ( this suggestion is more for Coach's rock reaction ). This band combines Mongolian traditional instruments, sound and some throat singing with a metal sound. • *"YUVE YUVE YU"* by *THE HU*
Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher's Odd Eye! Coach, since you like the rock sound and Mrs. Coach likes the softer sound, you should check out Deja Vu next. The song was done as a collaboration with a mobile game called Kings raid and it's a beautiful ballad with a powerful rock chorus. If you decide to really dig into their discography, you'll find that Dreamcatcher has a ton of diversity. They've got great rock songs and some amazing ballads along with everything in between. EDM, Jazz, Reggae, Trap, Trance, Funk, and much more make up DCs catalog. If you do go back and start with their debut songs, the first two releases, Chase Me & Good Night, were both released as single albums which had an Intro and a Ballad attached. This would give both of you something to enjoy since your personal preferences would both be satisfied. Also, both of these ballads have special clips on their YT channel, so you'll have something to watch as well. The first single album is Nightmare and consists of the following tracks. Intro: Welcome to Dream Chase Me Emotion The second single album is Nightmare: Fall Asleep in the Mirror and consists of the following tracks. Intro: My Toys Good Night Lullaby Whatever you decide to do next, I hope you enjoy it.
1:06 This is Yoohyeon. 1:31 This is Gahyeon (Maknae). 1:36 This is SuA. 2:10 This is Siyeon. 2:16 This is Jiu (Leader). 3:58 This is Dami. 4:13 This is Handong.
I myself am a hard rock/metal fan, and while I appreciate the legends from decades back, I listened to more recent acts such as Five Finger Death Punch, Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless (Taylor Momsen is still my favorite singer in all of music). The problem was that most of what these bands sing about are anger, hopelessness or misery. K-pop tends to do the opposite, but often in a substantive way. It was a much needed breath of fresh air that pulled me out of the darkness. And I agree that we're not seeing anything like this coming out of the west. But I think it's good that there's now another global entertainment media hub.
To quote Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones: "If you think this is going to have a happy ending, you have not been paying attention." 😉 Dreamcatcher are going a bit into the future here, extrapolating how the world would turn out if we keep doing what we're doing. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher ask us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "plausible lies overshadowed by sweetness". Very deep, as expected. And the song is a banger!
After following Dreamcatcher since their "cult favorite" days, and then falling into the larger K-Pop rabbit hole; a few contrarian points. This first is that rock music is not as unpopular as implied, it's just not broadcast or promoted internationally, mainly due to the July 30, 2005 MBC Live Music Camp incident. DKDTV explains it pretty well in "Worst Day in Korean Music History". Dreamcatcher's "trilogy" expanded into an seven title series. Most will parrot that the conclusion, Japanese release "Breaking Out" is an alternate ending; however, my theory is that since it was released at the same time their King's Raid collaboration "Deja Vu" completed, and a few months before their first full album (Tree of Language containing "Scream"), a Korean release would have been a distraction, especially since "Deja Vu" was doing well in Korea. It's all speculation aside from SuA's comment and JiU explaining her hair in the "Breaking Out Making Video".
This is your 1st look at the full group. Handong was in China for the first 2 MV's you watched (Youth with You Season 2) Lisa from Blackpink was the Dance mentor. Great reaction folks!
@@biohazard737 Han Dong went to China for the show Youth With You Season 2. She got to visit her parents in her home town of Wuhan. While she was there, THE WORLD'S MOST STRICT and LONGEST LOCKDOWN happened. This completely took her out of doing anything in the Entertainment sector for almost a year; she was not allowed ANY travel at all. It was almost like a Self-Quarantine (not quite because she eventually could actually visit her parents) but instead of lasting two weeks, it lasted for NINE MONTHS. While STUCK in that state of things, she made a few reaction videos; she got to see what OT6 DC were up to without her (you can find those reactions on DC's official channel).
Sua is my bias first because Dreamcatcher was my second KPop group I saw live and our corner of the stage was her spot and she kept interacting with us and joking and made it fun even though I was super new to them. Since then I have appreciated her vocal and choreographer skills more. That said, Yoohyeon keeps catching my eye. She’s had so many really cool hairstyles that frame her face perfectly on top of her unique physique. Who am I kidding though, they are all wrecking my bias half the time. This song will always stand out because that simultaneous spin and land move toward the end surprised me on stage.
DREAMCATCHER is not one of the most popular groups out there but it is one of the most unique ones. They are one of my top 5 favorite kpop groups since 2018 , they deserve more than what they get in popularity. If you like rock and metal please keep reacting to dreamcatcher, they deserve the attention 🤘🏼
I definitely recommend listening to Dreamcatcher's b-side tracks. Their discography contains many genres including jazz, r&b, ballads, etc. They also had an acoustic concert called Crossroads where you can hear their vocals shine through a lot more.
Thank you so much for getting back to Dreamcatcher! I really do appreciate it. You have only scratched the surface. They have so, so many great songs of different variety. Even some softer ones that I bet Mrs. Coach would love. Check out Siyeon's solo "Paradise". It really has great vocals and Coach will appreciate the visuals. Coach, if you lean to the Rockier songs then you should definitely check out their debut song Chase Me. It is also the 1st of the Nightmare series. It's not a trilogy. It actually has 5 songs. 6 if you include Breaking Out which is an alternative ending for the series and is a Japanese release of their which tend to be harder on the rock side. It is also probably in the top 5 of my favorite Dreamcatcher songs. Thanks again Coach and Mrs. Coach.
*New to Dreamcatcher??* Top Favorite: Silent Night, Eclipse, Deja Vu and Whistle Popular: Deja Vu, Odd Eye, BEcause & Maison Known for their: Anime vibes and jpop/jrock inspired Debut song: Chase Me Anime vibes: Eclipse, Silent Night, Full Moon, Starlight, Over the Sky, Deja Vu, Chase Me, I miss you, R.o.S.E Blue Other genres: Red Sun, Black or White, Wind Blows, In the Frozen, Daydream, Entrancing, July 7th, Lullaby, Emotion, 4 Memory, Poison Love, Alldaylong, Starlight, Sahara, Jazz Bar, Mayday, Sleepwalking, Diamond, Locked inside the door Evanescence vibes: Break the Wall Rock Theme? : BOCA, Rising, Breaking Out, Endless Night, Tension, Curse of the spider Title Tracks(MVs): Chase Me, Goodnight, Fly High, You and I, What, Piri, Deja Vu, Scream, BOCA, Odd Eye, BEcause, Maison, Vision, Bonvoyage, OOTD
As you have only reacted to this trilogy, you may not have noticed that Handong was back after a year in China. She initially went back to take part in a singing competition and was the stuck furthwr due to Covid. Ironically she is from Wuhan in China. I know the girls well as I have been an Insomnia for five years. Sua is my Bias and my Bias wrecker is Siyeon. The Agency they have are superb as they do put a lot off effort in and they treat the girls very well. You should start with the group Minx first with the songs Why Did You Come to My Home? and Loveshake. All the members of Dreamcatcher except Handong and Gayhyeon. You should then do all the Korean Title Tracks from Chase Me up to OOTD and then do the Japanese songs Endless Night, Eclipse, No More and R.o.S.E Blue. They also have home made Parody Videos of Poison Love, Break The Wall, Sahara and July 7th. I almost forget they have two Anniversary songs for the first and second Anniversaries called Full Moon and Over The Sky.
@@CoachCastTV Thankyou. I could give you more, but I didn't want to write a novel. Oops, I missed out another Japanese song Breaking Out. It's the alternative ending to the Nightmare Series (the first six Korean Titles).
@@bobby666666 Don't worry, you are not alone. I also have huge memory problems. I am amazed that I can keep the information straight but I do listen to Dreamcatcher every day. My Ult Group. :)
Dreamcatcher is one of my favorites because they've found a unique niche and nailed it. A lot of K-pop fans, especially the haters, base groups worth on how popular they are in Korea, but K-pop has become an International "genre" and is becoming more so. If you want to go rogue, I'd recommend IU's new song "Love Wins All" - it's a beautiful song (a warning Coach, it's a ballad), but I've been watching music videos since there have been music videos and this is one of the most amazing music videos I've ever seen, hands down. Lastly, since you try to keep your channel clean, you might not want to talk about artists "thingy", just saying. ;)
Well someone has to bring something new and as time pass the local south korean citizens will like it. Rap wasn’t a thing decades ago in korea but its very known now. Same goes for rock and metal. Tough for dreamcatcher but i bet if another new girl group tries this concept, it will be much more appreciated now in the 21th century
The Korean Entertainment Industry must be all the same stuff with a few twists here and there. They love all being THE SAME. In order to stand out, Shows, Actors, Soloists, Groups and Idols need to be at least slightly different. What Happyface did with Dreamcatcher was a HUGE RISK at the time. They are deliberately on the 'fringes' of the Entertainment Industry.
Some Call Her The Shadow Warrior ⚔, Some Call Her The Dark Knight ⚔, Some Call Her The Rebel Angel ⚔. She is a Guardian of Dreams , " She is and They are the first and always" , Eternal Legendary Dreamcatcher ❤🔥
WELCOME TO DREAMCATCHER WORLD...TY FOR REACT DREAMCATCHER. PLEASE REACT ALL THEY SONGS. THEY HAVE ALL GOOD SONGS. AND PLEASE GIVE THEY CHANCE TO UP TOO... IF YOU NEW, I SUGGEST YOU START FROM THIS SONG: 1. SCREAM 2. BOCA 3. ODD EYE THIS SONGS PART FROM 'Dystopia Trilogy Storyline'... Ty😊🇲🇾
Coach...if you want a rick song from them...."What"...or Endless Night...great rock songs...doesn't sound like kpop...that you are used to...love your reactions...just subbed...keep them coming
I loved the reaction and this band is cool, I loved their rock concept. I responded to you in a previous message about Taeyeon's music, so she is popular in Korea, but she does versatile styles and has an excellent voice, and if you like rock styles (and maybe also jazz and blues) then you might like her songs: Better babe, devil cry (live), Can't control myself, Fire, i'm ok (you need the live) Curtain call I, LOL, Rain, I found you, Signal, Stay , Rescue me, I'm The Greatest (LIVE).....Some of what I suggested are side songs and not popular/hits (and they are amazing). Basically, I suggest watching most of the songs in the live performances. Maybe start with this video, some of the songs are there. "Taeyeon TOP 12 Emotional Singing (Concert Edition)" ruclips.net/video/-40E_sb86Og/видео.html
In addition to this girl group, I really like their songs BEcause, Scream, VISION, MAISON etc and I also recommend Sunmi (another singer I really love and also does concept of indie, electronic, etc. ) and also Day6, Bibi, The rose, the volunteers, Drag restaurant etc
There are multiple choices as far as DC content. I am sre you understand that they have a decent sized discography for being around since early 2017 BUT there is more than you know... I am SO SORRY this turned into such a LONG post...AGAIN... DOOR NUMBER ONE: Do you want to see the 5-member group they were BEFORE they were Dreamcatcher? The group was called MINX. They had Teeny-Bopper content, the usual sweet-girly-cotton-candy sound and look that K-Pop Girl Groups were famous for in 2014 (which is really why MINX failed; they sounded just like everybody else and did not stand out at all, even if the content actually was solid. They have always been at least 'good' if not GREAT, but they were not good enough to stand out and get noticed by enough people; it did not help that their mid-sized company, Happyface Entertainment, could not afford to promote them like the bigger companies could afford to promote their groups). In 2014 MINX had 'Why Did You Come To My Home' as a Single and that is ALL they released that year. In that MV, you may not recognize three of the five members as the same people! JiU and Yoohyeon look the same now as they had back then, the friggin' Vampires are easily recognizable! For 'WDYCTMH?', the OLDEST members (JiU and SuA) were only 20 years old that year (by the Western Calendar way of thinking about it; in the Traditional Korean way to think about it, they were both 21) so EVERYBODY was really young. Main Rapper Dami was only 17 years old and Yoohyeon was born the same year as Dami. Yes, our beloved WOLFIE, Siyeon, was 'the middle child' for a time and Dami was the maknae! In 2015, TEN MONTHS after MINX debuted, they FINALLY released a comeback title track and MV called 'Love Shake'. 'Why Did You Come To My Home?' was re-released on that EP. DOOR NUMBER TWO: Would you like to see what happened when they re-debuted as a 7-Member group and freshly became the Dreamcatcher that we know and love today? They were suddenly creepy, dark Rockers with a fun/ Horror storyline that NOBODY was expecting; completely ahead of their time. The Nightmare Series gets a little long, though, which may cause you problems; there are SEVEN songs in the series and all of the MVs are connected and need to be watched in order. On Friday-the-13th of January 2017, their creepy horror Debut song was called 'Chase Me' and a couple months later it was followed up by 'Good Night' (the 'Good Night' MV picks up right where 'Chase Me' left off). Then the Prequel called 'Fly High', happened, which somewhat explains certain reasons for things that happened in the debut MV. You COULD decide to watch 'Fly High' FIRST if you want...maybe you will understand 'Chase Me' and 'Good Night' a little better, or maybe not... Then there are three more MVs that are just as confusing as 'Chase Me' was. 'You And I', 'What?' and 'Piri', which most Koreans see as the end of the story. BUT THEN, there is an 'Alternate Ending' to the Nightmare Series that is a Japanese Language release called 'Breaking Out' (and like all their other songs, there are parts that are English). I personally find that MV to tie up the Nightmare Series very nicely. Then there are some stand-alone music videos and songs that are un-related to the Nightmare Series. DOOR NUMBER THREE: Would you like to see more of their Social Change Platform material? Their next Trilogy (after the Dystopia Trilogy) is about saving the Environment before it is too late. There are some other un-related songs and MVs in between the Trilogies but 'Maison' is the first MV of the Apocalypse Trilogy and is followed by 'Vision' and 'Bon Voyage'. There are songs between the Dystopia Trilogy (what you just finished) and the Apocalypse Trilogy. There is also a Music Video they made for their Sixth Anniversary as Dreamcatcher, aimed directly at their very supportive fans. The song is called 'Reason' and it has an AMAZING emotional Music Video (be sure to have tissues on hand and some water for afterward). 'Reason' appeared between 'Vision' and 'Bon Voyage'. And there are songs that have come after the Apocalypse Trilogy as well. :)
Jeepers, creepers. That's a lot of info, and important, so we can hopefully not mess anything up in terms of order. Wow. Quite a complex history they have.
@@CoachCastTV Yeah. Sorry about the flood of information on them but there is just SO MUCH to cover because their original debut was more than nine years ago, same year as Mamamoo debuted.
dreamcatcher \:D/ basically, social media is no utopia ;) so don't fall too deep into it check out their newer apocalypse trilogy which imo much better musically :D - maison, vision, and bon voyage
Hey I have a ariana grande suggestion it won't dissapoint its a cover of somewhere over the rainbow at one love manchester You will love it but she was very emotional as she was singing for a benefit concert due to the bombing in 2017 ❤
Dreamcatcher has an interesting story, but they definetly change a bit the style of their music, since their first win in korea they went to more mainstream kpop sound, if you want the rock sound back you should stard from their debut song "Chase Me"
They have not changed their style, they just incorporated different elements and sounds to diversify. Idk why people started saying this and they have been since the "Dystopia" era, as hard stan insomnia its honestly kinda annoying. Their releases after their first win with "Maison" those being "Vision", "Bonvoyage" and "OOTD" are still very much rock, rock doesn't only sound one way there's a lot of sound variations. People will argue about "OOTD" but there's is definitely rock elements to it plus it was also in relation to the meaning of the song. Not to mention that they still have the "typical" or "expected" rock songs as their b-sides their latest being "Rising" from the VillainS album.
Dreamcatcher is utterly unpopular in Japan primarily for their aesthetic appearance which doesn't appeal to many, but then who is the most popular singer in Japan? ( Beauty is in the eye of a beholder as proverb goes; different from 1 continent or race to another? ). Much to your surprise, the answer is " Taylor Swift " who held her concerts at Tokyo dome on Feb 4-7, 2024, & congregated over a quarter million!!! of Japanese audiences in just 4 days according to Japanese news!; its admission fee ranges from $ 2,000 up to well over $10,000, believe or not! ( No wonder she resides in Beverley Hills! ). K-pop isn't so popular there on the ground of hapless history btw the 2 countries; of course, Japan being an aggressive state since the end of 16th century ( 1592 to be specific ); latest one Japan invaded Korea & occupied Korea was from 1905 to 1945. The atrocities they incurred during the 35 yrs of the occupation was beyond words & defy description. But Girls Generation & Kara, these 2 K-pop groups, however thanks to RUclips or the US invention, established a new page in the history in 2011--they were hugely welcomed & grasped Japanese hearts, primarily of younger ones, appearing numerous times on TV, they were even engaged in Japanese famous game shows for numerous hours & had several concerts there. But it was short-lived lasting only for 3-4 yrs, though. Back to DC, they had been invited to S. America, England, & some other European states in the past. Currently, Twice rules supreme in Japan as a K-pop artist. As always, I enjoyed, admired, & appreciated to the full at the comfort of my residence in the afternoon of Feb 15, 2024. Many thanks to you 2 for that.

Dreamcatcher is actually very underrated in Korea. I highly recommend Dreamcatcher’s Reason to you. This song shows Dreamcatcher's struggles in K-pop.
Dreamcatcher Dystopia Trilogy :
1. Scream
2. BOCA
3. Odd Eye
*Dreamcatcher* is so amazing and extremely underrated, thank y'all for reacting to them. I will recommend you react to the song that finally got them their first win after years of trying. It deals with environmental issues:
• *"MAISON"* by *DREAMCATCHER*
--- 2 Other artists I highly recommend ---
#1 - *SONG SOHEE* is known as the *"Traditional Music Girl"* is a South Korean Gyeonggi minyo, pansori traditional folk singer. She combines traditional singing with modern sounds, this song is an experience.
• *"INFODEMICS"* by *SONG SOHEE*
#2 - *THE HU* is a Mongolian folk metal band ( this suggestion is more for Coach's rock reaction ). This band combines Mongolian traditional instruments, sound and some throat singing with a metal sound.
• *"YUVE YUVE YU"* by *THE HU*
Very interesting suggestions. Thanks!
Intro: Welcome to Dream
Chase Me
Emotion
The second single album is Nightmare: Fall Asleep in the Mirror and consists of the following tracks.
Intro: My Toys
Good Night
Lullaby
Whatever you decide to do next, I hope you enjoy it.
Fantastic information. Thanks for telling us this.

1:31 This is Gahyeon (Maknae).
1:36 This is SuA.
2:10 This is Siyeon.
2:16 This is Jiu (Leader).
3:58 This is Dami.
4:13 This is Handong.
Good info
100% agree.
Good observation on their part.
100%!
I read she was stuck in China cuz of covid
This song will always stand out because that simultaneous spin and land move toward the end surprised me on stage.
probably my favorite kpop group, and im so happy that they are coming to Finland next month, have tickets :)
That's awesome!
Oooh, those hard rock riffs incorporated in always appeal.
Those last 30 seconds or so leading up to that decidedly NOT happy ending, spectacular!
Dreamcatcher the face of rock in KPOP. They may not be the biggest in Korea but man they are big around the world
Thank you for the Dreamcatcher reactions (Yes start from the beginning) and enjoy the Dreamcatcher story line & journey. Thank you, Love Insomnias.
Thank you too!
7:11 *From left to right* :
Handong, Dami, Siyeon, Jiu (Leader), Yoohyeon, SuA and Gahyeon (Maknae).
This song is my favorite from Dreamcatcher! loved the reaction! seeing them live in 5 days for the first time, i cannot wait!
That's fantastic! Have fun.
Coach.
Thanks for hanging out with us!
the live band ver of this song are even more sick

Finally Dreamcatcher!!
Yes my girls dreamcatcher
Gotta love that dirty 🎸 melody on the chorus. Siyeon is absolute 🔥 in human form. 🤘
You should then do all the Korean Title Tracks from Chase Me up to OOTD and then do the Japanese songs
Endless Night, Eclipse, No More and R.o.S.E Blue.
They also have home made Parody Videos of Poison Love, Break The Wall, Sahara and July 7th.
I almost forget they have two Anniversary songs for the first and second Anniversaries called Full Moon and Over The Sky.
Great info. 👍
@@CoachCastTV Thankyou. I could give you more, but I didn't want to write a novel. Oops, I missed out another Japanese song Breaking Out. It's the alternative ending to the Nightmare Series (the first six Korean Titles).
@@bobby666666 And they have another song for their Sixth Anniversary; 'Reason'. :)

@@bobby666666 Don't worry, you are not alone. I also have huge memory problems. I am amazed that I can keep the information straight but I do listen to Dreamcatcher every day. My Ult Group. :)
DC 🙌 my favorite girl group thank you ❤❤❤
My Ult Group in K-Pop and in any other genre.
Lastly, since you try to keep your channel clean, you might not want to talk about artists "thingy", just saying. ;)
😆 🤣 We actually did react to IU's new song recently.

Look, I'm old. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!

Agreed.
Some Call Her The Shadow Warrior ⚔,
Some Call Her The Dark Knight ⚔,
Some Call Her The Rebel Angel ⚔.
She is a Guardian of Dreams ,
" She is and They are the first and always" , Eternal Legendary Dreamcatcher ❤🔥
I'd recommend their new songs: OOTD, Shatter and Rising (all of which have live performance videos so you can hear their vocals better).
Love me some contact-lens-thingys 🤣

Appreciate that info, and welcome aboard!
Thanks for the suggestions!
Great reaction! please react to Raye- Oscar winning tears live from Royal albert hall
Reaction to Siyeon Dreamcatcher - spechless please.
There are multiple choices as far as DC content. I am sre you understand that they have a decent sized discography for being around since early 2017 BUT there is more than you know... I am SO SORRY this turned into such a LONG post...AGAIN...
DOOR NUMBER ONE:
Do you want to see the 5-member group they were BEFORE they were Dreamcatcher?
DOOR NUMBER TWO:
Would you like to see what happened when they re-debuted as a 7-Member group and freshly became the Dreamcatcher that we know and love today?
DOOR NUMBER THREE:
Would you like to see more of their Social Change Platform material?

Dreamcatcher has an interesting story, but they definetly change a bit the style of their music, since their first win in korea they went to more mainstream kpop sound, if you want the rock sound back you should stard from their debut song "Chase Me"
Good info. Thanks!

This was a very interesting read. Thanks for taking time to comment. Appreciate you as always!
