'When conversing with Settra in diplomacy, players must verbally address him using his entire title-train, regardless of any embarrassment this may cause due to the presence of family members.'
Must be damn slow game to play against Settra as it takes around 2 hours to say all his titles based on the lore for his main herald ;)
@@SampoPaalanen Actually, it's impossible if you're not undead to say all of his titles. Your throat would dry up way before you're done, and you can't pause, ever, because that would be extremely disrespectful towards Settra.
Quick bit of info for the casket of souls for you, Lionheart:
It's basically a magical prison housing the souls of those who have been caught transgressing in their cities. Each city has one. When it's taken out for battle, it expels the souls, screaming in agony. Upon hitting their target, the souls rend the minds of the victims and drastically age them. After the battle the casket sucks back all of its souls, as well as the souls of those killed by it in the battle. The only escape for the souls is if the casket is destroyed, in which case they explode out, damaging anything in their path.
Hellcannon eat your heart out.
Jesus, it's so weird coming back to this after 4 years of Warhammer 2 development and seeing the absolutely tiny number of legendary lords available after game launch. The roster is now so freaking massive, it practically induces choice paralysis.

Much harder in mortal empires
Just like vamps people struggle with factions that fare better on a tall instead of a wide empire. High tier units require high tier buildings and that means pooling surpluss into capitals is much more viable than pumping up minor settlements just for province control. (For Vamps that goes for their major gold income buildings. Same goes for both skaven and dark elves - they can be played both ways but thrive and snowball out of control if they are played tall)
Settra starting position is very good and enjoyable. Kathep on the other hand... you get -40 diplomatic relations with your neighbors the dark elves, get assaulted by beast-men hordes and there is chances for skaven populating the ruins close. You only start with one army, have fun.
zzxp1 yea Im playing with kalida, she is in a similar boat with dwarves, lizardmen, high elfs and beastmen hoards on your borders from the start. Its pretty mad but loads of fun. The skelly spears don't have a good time against sorus warriors

The Nemtoph Books 1....
“Arise.....”
The word was like a whisper and yet loud as a shout but as the stone above him was rolled away, Nemtoph the Honor emerged into the large Tomb of the Tomb Kings as he was anything but happy. He could feel his bones that were covered in ragged strips of rotten flesh, his bones seemed brittle and his armor that was on him seemed rusted.
And thus as the Skeletons around him slowly backed off from his personal Sarcophagus, he reached out and dragged himself out as he then threw the khopesh at his side at the wall and the brittle metal snapped with a crack! while the skeletons backed off.
“Damn that Nagash! We were suppose to be Immortals!!” He hissed out as his eyes burned this blazing blue while he soon came out of his personal resting place and as he stood, he glanced around him.
His personal unit of 50 Tomb Guard Halberds were slowly being brought out and while he looked at them, he then looked to those around him as he lifted his hand before dashing one against the nearby sanded wall.
“Why am I awake to this Hell! Where is my promised life that Nagash told we would have?!!”
“You are awakened because of me, Prince Nemtoph the Honored...” said a familiar voice and as Nemtoph looked up, he soon gave a bow before his lord.
“King Settra the Imperishable!”
Settra looked at the Tomb Guards that were being slowly unearth from their resting notches in the floor as they were being give new weapons and armor as a few skeletons came to give Nemtoph his new armor and Halberd and shield.
“Shall you serve me, Nemtoph the Honorable?” Asked Settrain a low hiss.
“I shall slay as I once did for our great lands of Kehmri and people...” His Bones clattered and clanked as the armor of the Tomb Guard as he soon was handed a Halberd that glinted with fresh steel.
“Then March with me... and let us find the books of Nagash!” Said Settra.
“His books! My Lord, did he not damn us with this Unlife?” Asked Nemtoph.
“And his books can undo it at the Black Pyramid! I am Settra the Imperishable! None shall stop me!”
And as the Tomb King slowly turned to walk away, he then said to Nemtoph, “There are Greenskins who defile my temples and dwell elsewhere but the Necarch Brotherhood is leaching my power so I want them dealt with as well.” Commanded the Tomb King. “Purge them all!”
And as Nemtoph took up his weapon and his armor and shield, he then gave a skeleton grin.
“It shall be done, my King Settra the Imperishable!!”

The Sands of Time swirled around the Gran Army of a Settra as there were Skeleton Swordsmen, Spearmen, Chariots following the Great Tomb King, Nemtophs own Tomb Guard, and even a reverred War Sphinx as across from them were the accursed Greenskins of the Top Knotz Clan.
Nemtoph looked at his own To,b Guard as their Halberds and armor glinted in the blinding sun above them as they faced the remains of a grand Kehmri City the Greenskins defiled and as Nemtoph looked at the Chariots in front, they better do their job for being lowly riders. Tomb Guards were the finest of Khemri’s Sons and warriors.
And then the War Horn was sounded, a raspy noise echoing over the field and as the Tomb Guard advanced, some lowly Skeleton Spearmen were joining them to simply soak some damage.
The terrain before them was going to past a great chasm of the bridge they were on and though neither of the units even blinked at the shifting sands beneath the Nemtoph wanted to taste blood on his blade.
The cries of the Greenskins were suddenly before them and as he glanced over, he watched as the main force of the Great Tomb Kings army clashed with the main units of the Greenskins as the War sphinx was slaughtering all before them.
And then he noticed some Greenskins archers nearby and he pointed his Halberd as he hissed, “Slaughter them!”
And the Spearmen and Tomb Guard all silently charged forward but as they ran, suddenly those blasted Chariots stole Nemtophs chance at killing Greenskins and hissed his fury to the sky as he wanted the head of the charioteers before him now.
But that wouldn’t do anything for him in this Unlife and he knew he would have his chance soon enough.
Settra the Imperishable soon appeared next to him and Nemtoph looked at his lord and bowed as Settra hissed out, “You will have your chance soon..we have more Greenskins to slaughter.”
“Where to?”
“Gor Gazan.”

The day soon came and as Nemtoph looked at the Top Knotz charging them, these filthy Greenskins had come for them it seemed after they had arrived at Gor Gazan. He was on the flank now to keep his Great Kings army safe from the enemy cavalry and also keep the archers a safe flank.
The Orcs charged and as the War Sphinx charged some Savage Riders, Nemtoph soon watched as the enemy came fro his flank.
“Stand tall!” He hissed our and as the enemy smashed into his flank, he then ran to the front with his men as blood flew from the Greenskins. He slashed and hacked with his Halberd as he bashed with his shield but it wasn’t long before his units was nearly half gone from the Savage Orcs and the Savage Riders attacking from both ways.
Orcs had no honor in a fight, being the basest of savages ever known to mankind and and thus he fought as savage as them as his men held their lines through it all, knowing neither fear nor pain.
And then the Orcs began to flee as it seemed their savagery was no match for the cold, hard ambitions of Nemtophs men and as he slew another, he looked at his men and hissed. His unit was half gone and that meant they had gone soft and he was going to have to represent that soon.
But time was something he could do. He was a Patient one.

My lore is rusty, but Im pretty Settra was long dead when Nagash was born (yup, his actual birth). This part im unsure, but ironically I think Nagash was defeated by the time Settra was awoken, so he settled on beating up Arkhan instead.
And, it was Khatep who awoke Settra.
I really did enjoy the writing tho.

A Tomb Prince, Necrotect and Liche Priest enter the bar...
The Tomb Prince commands one of the others to get him a beer, the Necrotect starts making a pyramid of beer mats, and the Liche Priest orders all the drinks in order from largest to smallest (but no one gets what they actually wanted). No punchline, Settra does not jape.
...and the bartender tells them they can't get a drink, because SETTRA DOES NOT SERVE

loved the little footrace between the necrotect and the army when you were moving up to the greenskin settlement
also although all add it to the QT you prob you should call the casket of souls "the lost arc" and your necrotect Indiana Bones
Love the ubshabti that one that picked an ork up with both blades...Orks body slips down then the ubshabti lowered it to the floor and basically scissored him pulling both blades to the side. I'm in love xD

For future episodes Lionheart, the king to the east with the red standard is likely pronounced ‘Nek-ta-nee-bow’ , I’m assuming the name is taken from the actual 30th Ancient Egyptian dynasty king Nectanebo 1st. I may be an Egyptology student but best not to quote me too much on this one👍

i am eternally envious of people with good enough computers to play with full units. my 30 man squads just dont compare to the carnage of a monster crushing hundreds with a single blow
I like the little details across the Nehekhara, the oases and rivers that are inland are all full of blood and not water.

The Casket of Souls looks epic!
Lionheart, judging by Settra's lord effects, his special equipment(Crown is an AOE item) as well as his spells, I think Settra is supposed to be spec'd out to be a commander rather than warrior. I think it would be a great shame if you wasted this opportunity, because the potential for Settra to buff his units is insane.

And the Tomb Kings *NEED* unit buffs. I was watching an official livestream, I can't remember which channel it was on, and they were showing us Khatep. Every time he went up against Mazdamundi and the Lizardmen, even when he outnumbered them more than two to one, the player still only barely pulled through, if he won at all. Sure, they were the Lizardmen, they're even more brutal than the Dwarfs in some cases, but still. TK line forces *suck* and with the restrictions on your constructs keeping you from getting them in any bulk until later, you need to make your line tougher than they are, even if it seems like it's a waste of skill points in the late game, at least there'll *be* a late game.
It looks like even in the late game Tomb Kings are going to be stuck with their sub-par line infantry.
@@DiZtheJedi You only need to put 7-9 points into unit buffs (Armour for tomb guard, archery, then cavalry)
The rest, I'd recommend putting into character levels, as his stats will become skyhigh later on in the game when you've gotten a ton of traits. Also, his final mount, the Chariot of Gods, will give him a really high charge stat, but will drastically lower his melee defence, so it'd be good to increase it.
Btw, almost every dynasty gives stats to your units, so no need to worry too much there.

@@baron2062 Yeah, I know, I've played a bunch in the year since I watched this video. Still though, it's boring min-maxing an army in campaign. I like a variety of different units, and that means I need a front line that can hold itself together against more than a mild breeze. And constructs are the most heavily restricted units in the game that aren't unique. Conversely, making an army of constructs is useless when the rest of your armies running about are just skelly's getting stomped.

Khatep wants to get back in Settra's good books and Khalida's on good terms with him too, so logically it should be possible to confederate both. Arkhan, no chance because basically all other Tomb Kings hate him. Ditto for Vampires - the TKs despise them.

A usefull tip i've found effective is: Always use a favorite unit to kill enemy lords/Heroes as they give lots of xp... never use your lords or heroes as the xp is wasted...

You should be able to make Arkhan your vassal by capturing his last settlement and then trying to confederate him after you break off the vassal agreement.

Making sure to build defenses in every settlement, major and minor, will really be helpful.

The war sphinx is the best starting unit in my opinion. It's health pool and charge attacks are insane. With a necrotect the additional damage etc is just great
You run a lot when it isn't needed, fatigue is pretty important so you could also just march when you don't have to run (mainly at the start of every battle).
There is also a mod called "cultural settlements" or something like it that remodels settlements if you capture them to your culture. It should be updated for tomb kings very soon I guess.

Settra is one of the only figures in all of Warhammer lore to have been offered everything he could want from the Chaos Gods... And then promptly tell them to Fuck off. Settra is up there with Karl Franz for my favorite Fantasy characters. He's such a bad ass.

I just found and finished your Clan Angrund playthrough last month
Ought to add a Gromril resource, much like the Canopic Jars, with certain settlements unlocking increased generation through unique buildings (Brightstone Mine at by Mount Gunbad, IIRC). Then, you can use the Gromril in combination with strategic resources to forge powerful Artifacts. Also be interesting, though this is surely beyond the scope of what they'd do retroactively to a game one faction; have the ability to outfit a unit with Runic equipment, boosting their Armor, Weapon Strength, Melee Characteristics, generically turn them into an elite unit.
Lionheart. You may want to keep a couple units of cheap expendables that you throw at the enemy to die just to summon the Ushatabi.
did anyone see the all star joke in the gold mine "all that glitters may not be gold" 12:42 I'm 90% sure it referencing all star.

If you want help with some of the pronunciations for Three Kingdoms, there’s a TV series from 2010 called simply “Three Kingdoms” that should help. Awesome series, and if you pay attention to the dialogue then you can catch the pronunciations for names and locations without too much issue.
That and cutscenes from Dynasty Warriors 8 - was the first one in the series to get the pronunciations right in the English voice track.
If Settra owned a shop, you'd never be able to buy anything. You'd go to the counter to buy it of him only to be met with SETTRA DOES NOT SERVE!

@@settratheimperishable7800 just finished fully painting the map green with the Wood Elves and loved it, great fun to play! Many people bitch about the Wood Elves too, it's a tough start for sure. Many people bitch about the Tomb Kings, so I reckon I'm gonna love em🤣
@@skabbymuff111 Yeah the main reason I think that people dislike the Tomb Kings is their lack of flying units but they do take out other flying units quickly with their strong ranged units like the Ushabti with great bows. Also the Wood Elves may lack armour and artillery but that doesn't mean they're a bad faction.

In mic adapter playthrough I was having a hard time so I completely abandon out the north when I had three armies with the tomb Kings I sailed all the way down the coast Camry and set up my Empire right next to cetera we were allies the whole game
A bit of advice with your basic units: after a battle, instead of trying to replenish them, you might try just combining them and then recruiting more, since they're free. At least while you're still in your own province anyways.
Arkhan does indeed start with one book, but its unique to him, nobody can take it away from him (as its that book which allows him to recruit some units of the vampire counts. So when playing as the tomb kings but as anyone else other than Arkhan the maximum amount of books you can get will always be 8. Only Arkham can complete the whole set of 9 books.
Just a lil lore for egyptians. Shabti were statutes burried with the dead to serve them in the afterlife
i think a crafting system could really help the skaven (presumably for experiments by the various clans) considering it is often hard for them to trade. everyone seems to hate them, and probably with good cause... they kinda have to attack or starve to death, so they tend to annoy people :P
Interesting that everyone is after the power of Nagash's Black Pyramind as in the original warhammer lore the tomb kings hate Nagash for creating the undead and in extension their cursed existences.

P is generally silent in Nehekhara which btw is technically pronounced Neh heh Karra :P any other pronunciation issues if you are curious I could make a little thread here on what I know as I watch the video. Not to be critical but you always seem appreciative of info on the Fantasy world and its lore/pronunciations :)
