    Chrystal, I have been crocheting for well over 40 years, although I am prominently a knitter. I have to say, you are a wonderful teacher. Your instructions are very clear, you go at a great speed and your style is very relaxed. I do believe that after knitting over 65 years and crocheting over 40 years, you are the best tutor I have come across. Thank you, so much for doing this.

    This washcloth has a lovely texture. I turned to YT to look for more patterns for washcloths, dishcloths, wash rags, etc. I'm glad this one showed up in the recommended videos in the search. Long time subscriber here & one more project I'll happily add to my list of wash rags I'm looking to make. The 100% cotton ones I've made held up far better than any store bought washcloths ever did... and the ones I made still look brand new, despite more than 20 years of daily use & 2 children later lol. Trust me, make your own... they hold up way better & clean far better then the mass-produced factory-garbage sold in stores. They also make great gifts. Such a simple thing but our family & friends really love the cotton items I've made for their homes, even the kids & teens love having their own items in their favorite colors... no arguing or squabbling over whose cloth or towel it is 😉

    You know, when I watch tutorials for other projects, I oftentimes find myself thinking “I wish Bag-O-Day had a tutorial on this specific project so that I could understand it.”
    You present things in such an easy, detailed, clear way without any fanfare. You have an understanding of the kind of things inexperienced crocheters might have problems with, and you very clearly point out exactly how to identify things.
    Thank you for all the time you gift to us!🥰

    I’m new at this and learning from RUclips thanks for this one I was able to follow along and it turned out better than most things I have made so far! For some reason even though my stitch count is even my project is never square. I love the texture on this one too!!

    • @char8059
      @char8059 3 года назад +5

      @Karen Allen. If you're fairly new to crochet, your washcloths are probably not square due to your tension. It just takes practice to develop even tension. Before you know it, your items will start to get better and better. One thing I had a problem with was my foundation row being too tight. Then as I continued to crochet, my tension would loosen up and I'd end up with an oddly shaped square, rectangle, whatever. One thing I did (and still do) is to crochet the foundation chain with a hook one size larger than what I'll use in the rest of the pattern. Switch to the smaller hook after the foundation chain and continue on. This helped me not have a finished project that flared outwards from the foundation row. I hope this helps a bit. The key is just to keep on crocheting. Your tension will improve with practice..... It's like this for everyone in the beginning. Don't despair! This is normal. 🙂🧶

    When I first watched this video, I thought to myself, "there's nothing easy about this pattern!". Reluctantly I decided to try it and it really is easy. I did use stitch markers to mark the ch 1 and ch 2 stitches just to help
    me go into the right stitch at the end of the row. Thank you for your videos! I've made a couple of your projects.

    • @char8059
      @char8059 3 года назад

      Stitch markers are great! They make things so much easier! I use them all the time, whether the instructor recommends them or not. We're all different.... Some people don't use stitch markers very often, and then others (like me) use them whenever they'll make crocheting easier for me. Anything to make crochet easier is a "plus-plus" in my book! Char from Phoenix 🌄🌵🏜️ 🙂👍

      @Beth Staton. I totally agree with you. Just watching Crystal's videos lifts my spirits whether I'm having a "down day" or not! So unassuming and "normal"! Someone who I'd love to be friends with if we lived close. A sweet, sweet girl! Love you, Crystal! You're really special!! 🙂💕🌵🏜️🌄 Char from Phoenix. (Yeah, yeah, me again! Lol!!)

    Love it, it looks like the cabbage patch stitch. I was just watching and this was the next video. I was looking for ideas for. Graphghan without having all the traditional stitches everyone uses..

    Very nice Crystal! I think I’ll make one today! I have so much cotton yarn that I usually have one crochet and one knit cloth going all the time. They are so much fun and a great way to learn new stitches. Not to mention we use them all the time. I love the way you clean up the edges. It’s not so hard when you don’t have to have a certain number of stitches. As long as it lays flat and looks good that’s what counts. Thanks for sharing!
