  • This was my entry into the Tokyo Skytree Contest! It challenged participants to create a roller coaster traversing the roof of the Tokyo Skytree complex (more info here: nolimitscentral.com/forum/top.... After finishing the coaster for the contest, I added more detail to the template including texturing and additional scenery items.

    Love the force annotations and very accurate with real world B&M forces. Not sure that they’d go this crazy with the layout but if they did this would be spot on force wise.

      I have a feeling that if a park was interested in inversions they would be willing to do it. A lot of elements on their more recent coasters I think shows that they are definitely willing to do some new things and it helps them to stay competitive with other manufacturers.

      You have to keep in mind that clamshells are not rated for inversions so they would have to either implement vest/otsr restraints or come up with a whole new type of restraint in order to do it

    I feel like b&m is too scared to get out of their comfort zone. If they saw this design, they'd consider it. I wonder what inversions with the clamshell restraints feel like.

    • @lukemeeson5314
      @lukemeeson5314 Год назад

      Not scared, they build a quality product that introduces new elements and ideas slowly so that when they are launched to the public they are in a finalized state. Unlike lets say Intamin who take a lot more risks and have now ended up with wide and impressive collection of problem coasters.

    • @jasonelston2707
      @jasonelston2707 Год назад

      @@lukemeeson5314 b&m had lots of opportunities to introduce us with new elements. They've been in business for decades and used the same elements ever since. I do like that wave turn on Orion, and that one weird element on Candymonium looks great, but I need them to produce outbreaks, stalls, ejector hills, and rapid fast transitions. If they did that, that would have you getting off one of their coasters saying "Oh that was nuts!". Instead, you're getting off of their coasters saying "Oh that was fun.", and that's not a bad thing. I personally love the old school b&m inverts such as Raptor and Montu. Those have some whippy transitions that are wild. Banshee, a newer b&m invert doesn't have that. It's layout is too drawn out (but there's nothing wrong with just a fun coaster, which is what Banshee is).

    how do you get the track mounted camera instead of just sitting in one of the seats when watching the coaster

    • @jacksongrace
      @jacksongrace  9 месяцев назад +1

      When seated press "Q" once. This puts you in "fly-by" view. Then adjust where the camera is by pressing W and S to move forward or backward, and space bar and X to move up and down.
      Also, if you press Q additional times you can see other views you have (target view is my favorite!). I'd also suggest looking through the key assignments in SETUP -> "Controls" to see everything you have at your disposal! :)

    I tought that hyper bm can't have inversions

    • @jacksongrace
      @jacksongrace  Год назад +4

      Well there's really nothing stopping them from doing inversions. There isn't actually anything special about inverting on coasters, it all just depends on the forces felt while doing it. For example, all of the inversions on this coaster don't have very extreme lateral forces (the clamshell restraints aren't good for that), and to keep with the giga style they are all pretty floaty, are speed based, or even sustain positives like on the NIL. While having inversions doesn't exactly follow the idea behind B&M hyper/gigas (taking elements of wooden coasters and improving them with steel, focusing on float and/or speed), I'm sure that if a park wanted an inversion or two they would be completely willing to do it. So, with this in mind, for this coaster I basically asked myself what I would do if I was B&M and was asked by a park to make a giga coaster with an inversion (which then turned into three).

    • @ogeboi4945
      @ogeboi4945 11 месяцев назад

      Clamshells aren’t rated for inverting (or so I’ve heard) so they would have to use a completely different type of restraint. At that point they would just be making a glorified looper. The closest thing to it is alpengeist and tbh alpengeist is too big for its own good so… it would have to be completely unique much like this coaster concept so that the inversions could work and not just be completely oversized

  • @ogeboi4945
    @ogeboi4945 11 месяцев назад

    Just a little knit pick, but only magnetic brakes for a mcbr can not work. Magnetic brakes are not capable of completely stopping a train. It’s an incredibly specific knit pick but friction brakes are mandatory to create a block zone, and knowing how to create/place your brakes is a small detail that can make elite coaster builders nod their head in respect for you. The more you know! I guess…

    • @jacksongrace
      @jacksongrace  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I already know about all of that, needing to have a small friction brake at the end of a magnetic section to make it a block etc, I just have always been annoyed by the sound of friction brakes lol
