I feel like this is a sleeper track like "Just to Get High" is on Dark Horse. It's emotionally heavy and hits you in the gut. Chad's pain and regret really comes through. I think it has a great melody and I like the verses.

I think this song is about cheating on someone you are in a relationship with, but don't really connect with anymore. So, you try to find your "home" somewhere else only to realize "home" is where the heart is. Except the heart no longer wants to be in that home. So, (you think) you're better off by yourself in the end.

My new favorite Nickelback CD, Chad really out did himself allowing his personal life to inspire his writing giving us songs we all can relate to and shocking us with some really heavy tunes like The Betrayal Act 3.
"I did what I did! Can't say, 'Hey man, I'm just a kid!'" For some reason this line always hits me hard - and this was the line that, when I first heard this song, really nailed me to make me say "Okay I love this song already" - and the rest did indeed turn out so good, real good. I too would love to see this song get a music video one day! (However unlikely.)

I feel like this song is about someone you are in a relationship with and still love dearly, however a new girl passes by and you end up cheating on your love with this girl. Hence the part that goes "Shoulda told her to go, and i know it, but she tasted like home. ". Then throughout the rest of the song it sounds like he's hoping that his true love is still home when he gets back, only to find she left him, which is where the chorus begins:

He's calling himself a fool for cheating and losing someone amazing in his life, and a liar to the one he loved.
As for the last line of the chorus, the proof is in the first and second line of the chorus - someone you love so much becomes "home" to you, when your love leaves the "house" it just simply becomes a house, and is no longer a "home".
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if this inference is correct, this a terrifically tragic and deep song.

All these musics are truely amazing, but I am particularly in love with After The Rain, Home and Silent Majority. After The Rain as such a meaningful and interesting lyrics, beautiful chorus and music.
I'm portuguese, and I am aware of what happened a few years ago, but I would love to see you perform again in Portugal! I am a fan of your work and there are so much more like me that admire you. If you do a European Tour, please come here!! I would love to see you perform.

Thanks for uploading. This is the Nickelback that I grew up listening to and I love. I have their first 3 albums and LOVE them because the music was all raw, heavy and real. I stopped listening to their music after album 3 since it was too generic. I'll listen again since they are going back to their roots.

It's like 3 years after the last album was released named No Fixed Address, it got rightly wave of critical reviews and it's worst album they've ever released, in my opinion, there are like two songs I'm playing till this day and that's poor...Nickelback, the Canadian Rock band...today is 14.6.2017 and I had the honor, to listen to that LP two days before release, that date is today, first it was planned on 9th of June, but you know musicians, they like to change plans, just before release and Chad with his crew were not an excuse, I was not angry, yet happy, they changed the track list and added another track...
I keep standing on the ground and no, didn't hit myself into head, when I'm saying, that this best album ever, if not best, one of the best of decade and half :)) excellent job Chad Kroeger, keep it up and the hate will dissapear forever ❤

Feed The Machine - Debut and first single on the album, caught me harder riff and overall composition, lyrics are talking about nowadays political situation in the world, Trump related, easy, but catchy, not the best and I'm not gonna feed the machine!

Coin For The Ferryman - Keeping the harder page of the album and this one has really something to give, catchy riff and embracing solo, lyrics are pure Nickelback, chorus is nice and the run up force you to sing it with Chad too (4,5/5)
Song On Fire - Beautiful and emotional ballad about making a love song, sparks are blasting out of letters

Hard, but not that hard, how can I describe, lyrics are funny and it is talking about spoiled children and these that get everything in their lap for basically doing nothing at all...can I visit your fucking paradise too? (3,5/5)
After The Rain - This really caught my balls, some people are not gonna agree, because it's another ballad, but I got goosebumps, kinda like Satellite (5/5)
For The River - Fuck yes! That's mine! Great riff, drums and really catchy chorus, more Hard Rockish than metal, yet one of the best from album, that guitar... (5/5)
Home - Starts fresh and slow, holding the greatness high and holds the tempo too, next gem of this album, half-ballad, hand on heart, this has soul...Where is my home? (5/5)
The Betrayal (Act III) - Starts acoustic and then it kicks your balls, face and ass, lyrics are gorgeous, riff, everything, best on this album, if I was able, I'll give it 6/5! Metallica and Pantera vibe...Dimebag would be proud, solo and outro eargasm (5/5)
Silent Majority - This one got me by it's lyrics, one of the "softer", but still really good, everything sits on place, getting Red groove, less repeating (4/5)
Everytime We're Together - Photograph 2.0, after first listen it felt weak, but more you listen, more it grows into you, like roots...Mama always told truth, so listen (4/5)
The Betrayal (Act I) - Excellent instrumental at the end, this could be rather intro, than outro, but the ACTS maybe have some sense, we'll see, maybe Deluxe (5/5)

Dude, I loved No Fixed Adress! I mean, I prefer this album... but I honestly don't think it's possible for Nickelback to make bad music... Their music is soul music. It'll penetrate every corner of your mind, awaken parts of you that aren't used to being awake, that we leave asleep because it's safer this way when everyone around you is so cold and the world is cruel and filthy. It's just, like pure love. The real deal... ! and it hurts so good. OK so maybe Nickelback is like sex.
