bought a used T8 for a steal, upgraded the rear shock and will add a couple volume spacers to the front shock. I'm a bigger guy at 6'2'' 205lbs. It's been a blast riding this bike and I don't feel like I'm outriding it after 2-3 months of every other day riding. Take those tubes out!

The T8 rips. Putting on SLX brakes with 200 discs and an SLX chain took it from great to outstanding, for me at least. (I knew I'd be doing this before purchase, so no surprise expense.)
The only reason I can see for people spending twice the money for the same or lower specs is "I have the money and I like the colour better".
The NZ retailer - NOT Bikes Online - offers consistently poor service, so take it to an actual bike shop if you need anything.

Im in the same boat as you, been thinking about buying it and Im new to mountain biking. Did you end up purchasing the T8? Everyone talks about upgrading the bike out of the box which makes me think if I would need to as well. At least for now I dont plan on doing insanely steep jumps, drops, etc, mostly sticking with beginner and intermediate trails.

@@cupofsadge8359 I ended up going a completely different route and chose the Velotric Summit 1. Unfortunately, the bike I want doesn’t exist on the market yet, so for now, I had to compromise. Though I wish the Summit was a full suspension, it has been more than capable for beginner and light intermediate trails. However, I mostly use it for commuting during the week.
