These are working line German Shepherd dogs (GSDs), typically used by police forces and militaries across the world, as both Patrol dogs and also as dual-purpose working dogs. There are also a few Black&Tan working line GSDs, but they are structurally different from the typical showline B&T GSDs. There are also variations in the sable coloration too, with some of them being "Black Sable", "Dark Sable", "Patterned sable" or even the lighter sable. "Boomer", the male 1.5 year old puppy (they are still puppies until they are 2 years old) who is shown in the video, is more like a combination of a patterned sable and a regular sable......he will darken when he becomes an adult. The female "Blacky" looks like a dark sable. The other female is more like either a Bicolour or a Melanistic Black&Tan. The small puppy shown, will eventually become a black sable, once he gets his final coat. These are very stable dogs and since they have FAR better nerve strength than the showline dogs, can settle down completely when inside the home (they have an "off switch" when inside the house !), while being able to deploy their biological drives (prey, defense, hunt etc) with great persistence and determination, when out working in the field.
