All you need is a group of friends buy the land and build each other a small home use as much wood from the land share the work and the cost, rent free and don't forget grow your own food.
I'm with you brother in buying the land and helping everybody build their home and planning the food that is my thing that is next to happen to me to do all those things just love them thing love to be in the wilderness and love log or wooden cabin and is Heaven to Me and to ride my horses through the woods with my dogs at my side. I'm very very good at raising livestock and horses Train police dogs for years have wonderful Gardens and a lot of livestock including chicken at the lots of sitting hens that is my world and would love to go in with somebody and buy land and work together on home that would be Heaven to me let me know how you feel about that
The cabin is beautiful.....I'm reading the comments because I wanted to see if anyone else noticed that the windows & doors didn't have any King & jack studs, our header plates to distribute the weight of the roof across the doors and windows......🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️

Got some Danes and one hell of a nice cabin... what more could a man want. (besides a hand built throne and animal hide rug to go into it). lol Not entirely sure about that stove pipe but meh... awesome work
The title would have been more appropriate if it said how to timberframe a small cabin and use milled log rounds for siding. To bad they covered up the roof timbers inside-could have used foam board outside and metal roofing showing the timbers upstairs in the loft.... Framing is an art!
Nice job, very beautiful. I hate the bricks though, stone facing much nicer. That's just a personal problem I have. Everybody is a critic you know : ( I'll bet there will be a lot of nice naps in that loft.

If it would have been me, I would have extended the chimney up a bit (at 6:48); I hope you use that area over the deck roof, as another deck space (at 6:25) and the live tree you have on the backside of the house (at 1:32) looks like it's way to close to the house... but as this video was made in 2016... you probably already figured all of that out. Really fantastic job on this tiny cabin. Well done :-) Thanks for sharing.
