Facts. Improvement is always great, but I feel FL isn't doing enough.
I'm glad their doing it though, I started out on FL but moved to Ableton because of the lack of quality of life features they're just adding now. However, this is great for the people who already make slaps on Fl already 🙏🏾

Really wish they added something so we didn’t have to keep making cut audio clips and pressing “make unique as sample” being able to cut something and just drag it to a new channel so it becomes it’s own thing that we can level would make fl even better to me

Come to the Darkside brother! Ableton takes one step to do something where I always felt in FL it was multiple steps. But then again there is stuff in FL that I wish ableton had.
all other daw's do that i wish fl would tho im coming from cubase . that make unique features is to much work

Can we all agree that crossfade will help us so much when mixing kicks and 808s? Yes, I know, sometimes you can leave them to clip, but, sometimes the beat can benefit from a crossfade( and i believe its the cleanest way to make room )

Themes is all I need, idk what it is, you know I literally am a mix engineer, producer, and soon to be independent artist, but I need themes for my brain to just sit there and pretend this is different every so often by some color changes

I have developed a knack for knowing where my tracks are in my library when i need to search for all of my favourite samples that its become like a muscle memory for me… now thats gone now

i love fl. imo it’s one of the easiest daws to learn. they listen to their users. beautiful thing

I really wanna go back to FL because the piano roll and just the vibe I get from it is unmatched but its workflow in terms of actually making a record is still decades behind all the other DAWs. Manually linking to mixer channels, no pre-fader metering, no real decent workflow for recording live instrumentation (I.E. Comping), having to manually make samples/patterns unique just to make changes without affecting the whole track, no quick shortcuts to rearrange tracks vertically in the playlist, having to use a separate audio editor Edison) to make more advanced edits before putting audio tracks in the playlist... the list just goes on and on. And I'm not even trying to bash FL or the people who use it because for making beats quickly is amazing. The many shortcuts in the piano roll is something every other DAW can learn from. But it feels like Image-Line just don't intend on making this DAW the game changer it really could be.
FL actually has a lot of these features now. When was the last time you used it?
@@jeanmichele3843 I've used it about a week ago. Haven't checked this update yet although it deffo seems a step in the right direction. I couldn't find any of these features being updated?
For example they have audio and instrument tracks (have had them for like a year now), which link automatically to mixer. Just drag a plugin/audio clip to the track header and select instrument or audio track and that's it.
For pre-fader metering you can make a template with a metering plugin in every mixer track.
As for having to make samples or patterns unique, there are big changes coming with the FL21 regarding that.
You can just alt+scroll a track header in the playlist and it is definitely a quick way to rearrange tracks.
I personally wouldn't call Edison separate. It is included in FL, it's just in it's own window. It's literally 2 clicks to open your clip in Edison, it ain't slower than any other daw.
The comping is the only thing in your list which is true (maybe the pre-fader metering as well as my solution is kind of a workaround).
To me it sounds like you just aren't aware of all the features FL has nowadays, or don't know how to use them to create a smooth and effective workflow. The workflow might be different than other DAWs', but it definitely isn't objectively worse as you make it sound.
I have made tons of FULL songs with FL and Ableton and I can't say one is absolutely better than the other. They do have strengths and weaknesses, but they both get the job done with the same standards.
To me it sounds like just haven't found a workflow that fits you, and that is absolutely fine, no one needs to use FL if it doesn't work for them and quite frankly, they shouldn't.
@@adammedzavorian2737 what I will say is, FL has a lot more going for it now than it did not too long ago. But the problem with FL has always been finding where the damn options your looking for are hidden.
There's just so, so, so many parameters listed in vanilla graphics text menus and lists. It's a jungle of wrong moves, and nobody telling you where the right one is.
But, for its purposes, I think FL stands out as the single most powerful DAW I've used. So many options, and amazing included plugins. It's really a bundle from hell sent to make us hate making music because of how complicated they make opening up a single vst.
FL is a little behind Ableton but i feel like FL is really going for the people and not in general which is a good thing in my opinion

Yo do u know if there’s a way to export individual drum tracks to fl from the mpc software
@@kay7beats428 you can split the the drum program by track and then export the stems and open them in FL as audio tracks. You can also open MPC software inside FL as a VST and use the track export button (the little tiny button on the top right of the track view window) and just drag and drop the audio from each track into FL right inside the FL software.

Hi Sauseware, how do you setup your audio tech mic with no feeb back from your speaker? I had to move mine far away to prevent feed back.
People trashing on FL Studio because of quality of life features and not the things that matter, which is its amazing collection of top of the line plugins. Of course that's what you look at if you use downloaded loops and serum presets to make your music lol

You can use the beta separately... I would recommend if it's an important project do it in 20 and if your ok with some of the potential bugs then do it in the beta...

FL doesnt really have a good freezing feature compared to ableton tho. it has consolidate but its not the same
I would like to see an easy way to make pitch bends on vsts that aren’t native to fl and samples
Thanks. I really hate pitch-bending with automation in FLS. That's one improvement I also want in the new upcoming version - to pitch-bend just like with native plugins.

I'm going to use both... Because beta still has some bugs I will use 20 to do anything super important and I'll use beta to fool around and make cool samples with... I wouldn't use the beta if it was important cause it could crash and you could lose your project file.

@@francisgutierrez9674 So far I haven't had it crash on me so it seems pretty stable.. but the big warning here is that it could crash and I wouldn't want you to be working on a project you love and then it crashes and you lose it. So try and render the items as a backup incase that happens

Wow the things us Reaper users take for granted. FL is just now getting around to fade envelopes? Yikes! I must admit that is one hell of a stretchy envelope in a "Looky what I can do" kind of way. The merging feature is pretty neat.

4:30 could you put multiple tags to the same item so you could easily track your sounds while working wih different projects? Like imagine if i made a tag for a specific project, i would like to tag every sound/drum/sample i used in a single project, them make another tag using almost every item i selected for the previous project for the recent one. Is that possible?
tags are always a single word. adding space in the tag field result in multiple tags

Still no auto assigned tracks so we don’t have to connect playlist to mixer manually also there should be an option to work linear or non linear
Control L can do that for you man
You can just drag the sample or vst onto the track header in the Playlist and you'll get the organized Playlist like in other daws man, the stuff will be automatically routed to a mixer track, this was already implemented in FL 20.
