See you on track!
*Great job managing to film during an earthquake.*
At last another simracer who talks the truth about high end products. THUMBS UP
Wow an honest simracing hardware review for a change :)
Great overview. Ordering my Simcore unit tomorrow with large GT paddles and 1 funky switch, still undecided on colours, will go well with my Ascher FC28
I think it is carbon. It just has a diffrent look to it. There's are quite a few diffrent types of weaves of carbon and also surface finnishes (matt, shiny, half matte) I honestly hope it is, otherwise it was a rip off and a half. Edit: Pretty sure the button covers are aluminium too.
its definitely not carbon
SRG took it apart and it was a carbon piece that goes all the way around. He put it right up to the camera. Unless you got a last gen wheel??
Dude if you watch Barrie’s Video he takes it to pieces it’s just all carbon plate solid one piece, it’s the style of the carbon and the finish, don’t hate on stuff without facts.
Greg's is painted carbon look 100%, it's so obvious. But Barry's wheel is real Carbon those are the facts.
Mick Squires well I ordered one about 3 weeks back from Simon I’ll take a look over it when he sends it
You can see it at about the 24:20 mark in this video - ruclips.net/video/eIwAQVETnq4/видео.html - it's a small ring of carbon but it sounds like the box itself is mostly aluminum.
buttdyno mines been shipped just waiting for it to arrive, tag me again in 2 weeks I’ll report back!
Waiting for mine. Can't wait. Using a sequential shifter for now. I went the large gt shifters.
Sweet, I went with the regular ones but my next set will be the large. Share feedback on the shifter feel once you get it up and running 😁
Will do Greg!
Just bought the Sim Core button box this morning 👍
Bought mine around the time you commented here too. Amazing button box.
Zero Velocity Racing I’m still waiting on mine. Seems to be taking a long time.
The wait will be worth it.
Slow down that camera movement, I’m getting seasick.
Roger that!
Thanks for the honest review! I used to want a PSE wheel but the price has always turned me off. Even if it was real carbon, their wheels are just too expensive. Their LM-X looks amazing but it's something like $3200. I feel insulted by the absurdity of their pricing. LOL
Yea, I have no idea what they are smoking. Completely overpriced by double at least. Should be a $700 wheel, there nothing precision about it. The leather wrapped wheel is basically the only good thing about this wheel. I encountered significant connection issues. It looks pretty tho. 😏
@@GTGREG Thanks for the reply! Just recently discovered your channel and really enjoying watching the back catalog. Keep up the great work!
@@glendavis4580 thanks, I'm working on a shifter vid now I hope to publish today, it's tougher than it looks😂
If the sparco rim on the simcore starts to wear out. Can you just buy another rim that has the holes for the red buttons? Or do those buttons come with a new wheel?
Edit, Nevermind you went over that. Great video
Hey Greg how you doing?
I’ve ordered the Turn R20 rim, do you think the sim core would fit that rim ok.
The adapter you used on the sim core to mount the simucube qr where did you get that from? Or is it the simucube adapter?
Thx for your help. I was going to buy the Asher button box but this has given me more to think on.
O yeah and painted carbon fibre...I hear your pain, wtf is that all about for that price.
Just been on there website and this would only cost me $15 nz more than the Asher I’m waiting to order. A lot of food for thought. Those shifters sound Awsome.anyway thx for the video.
It will fit the turn r20. I just bought the same rim today myself.
Ricky Wall thanks for the reply. Going to order tonight. Just paid customs on wheel base, should be here in 2 days. Rather excited lol
Hi there, the turn r20 will fit perfectly. Here a gallery with a few shots of the r20 on + simcore. photos.app.goo.gl/U4z8KLUHqXxZNpox9 The qr system is the standard one that you buy with the simucube system, you shouldn't need anything else. Ur gonna love the shifters 😁
GTGreg thx that looks great
Great. First I was going to buy a Sparco 310 and button box from HRS, then I changed my mind and decided to go with the SimCore one instead (the same one here in your vid). Then I changed my mind again and thought I'd get a Turn R20 with the SimCore button box but then decided I'd use the button box from Ascher Racing instead. Now I'm not sure at all what I want!! hahaha. Is the SimCore button box really that much better than the Ascher? From everything I've seen, Ascher Racing is referred to as being the benchmark for quality etc...
Also, great honest little review/rant there!
The Ascher and simcore are close in quality. You really cant go wrong with Eithger to be honest. The benefit the Simcore has over the Ascher is the funky switch integration and the shifters are significantly better than the Ascher's. I also prefer the buttons on the simcore. Ascher was the original wireless button plate and they did a terrific job with the b16m. It comes down to how important is a funky switch and good shifters to you. I also quite like the BB Ultra button box and its a great value. The new one has dual funky switches which is great but the position isn't the best for funky switches. Maybe have a chat with Joe Sullivan @ supersonicmfg.com , he is the US distributor for both Ascher and SimRacingBay. Hes a great guy and get get you on track. I will finish by saying out of all the boxes Ive had, I have 2 that ill never get rid of, first is my p310 / SimCore and the other one is my SimRacingBay wireless GT3 wheel. The SRB is the best wireless steering wheel on the planet in my opinion.
@@GTGREG hey mate, really appreciate the detailed response. Think I'm going to go with the simcore box.
I actually also ordered the Precision Sim Engineering GT3 Wireless, but for some reason the unit i received was very poor quality. Stickers were worn out and off centered, additionally my wheel did not have the red and black rubber portions on the switches on the top like yours. Returned it immediately the day after.
What did you swap to? I anxiously waiting for the hybrid racing wheels to try as well.
@@911greg I actually was planning on swapping out my Fanatec GT3 Cup wheel out with the PSE. But after receiving the PSE wheel, i decided to keep the Fanatec wheel. The combination of the Podium Button Module and podium shifters makes it feel much more better quality than the PSE. I also have a Cubecontrols CSX2 that I use as well. Both are much better quality than the PSE.
@@911greg Haha, just watched the video and was screaming at the screen "You need to try a HRS wheel!!". Have you ordered one yet?
@@mrnismo75 I'm trying, they are changing their wireless wheel to the updated boards so I believe they are waiting for redevelopment on their wireless wheel before taking orders. I'm super anxious to grab one of those 👍🏾
@@EverydayGT3 I have a PSE LM wheel which is rock solid and I also had a podium before, the GT paddles on the podium felt like crap to me. They would flex and felt like they could snap easily. I had the cube formula wheel too, that was nice but the magnets fell out of the shifters, I had to glue them back in, stickers where crap too. Overall the PSE LM Pro is the best wheel I have ever used, although I think the shifters could be better as well as the stickers and they are V expensive. I also had an SSRG porsche wheel that was really nice but heavy.
I have the PSE LM Pro wheel its rock solid. I agree with you on the shifters I feel they could be better although they are very good. Also the stickers could be better, but I got a spare set. Overall its the best wheel I have used to date, it feels great to use with no flex whatsoever. Here is a little video I made showing it. ruclips.net/video/flC_MnuOaUo/видео.html
Did you ever review the BB Pro 32?
As always overpriced as hell, these „companies“ have huge profit margins. Dont get „scammed“ guys, dont support these guys
I just bought a turn r20 and idk what shifters I should get. I wonder if the large will be too big for an open top wheel.
I wouldn't think so, I have another std24 coming in that I'm going to be using with the turn r20 evo in the near future and also trying the large gt paddles on that rim. It feels like they should contour with the r20 nicely. I have some pics of the r20 with standard paddles located here: photos.app.goo.gl/U4z8KLUHqXxZNpox9 message me on FB of you can't access and want me to send them over. 👍🏾
@@GTGREG Bro could you help me, Turn R305/320 or Sparco P310 open! (I found open type) for the grips which you liked more Turn or Sparco. Thanks.
@@amigoz3201 p310 over almost everything. 👌🏾
Hi, did you try cube contorl's gt wheel? How does it compare to simcore one?
Nope, Ive been staying away from cube to be honest. I didnt like the feedback i saw from some of the owners and i see a lot for sale all the time. I dont think ill play with cube unfortunately.
Cube controls is really good. I have a sparco gt. Very good quality. Good price in comparison to the overpriced precision sim engineering. Nice quick release design. Etc... By the way... You don't see a lot of people complaining about cube controls. Most people are spoiled idiots.
@@GTGREG do you like anything?
@@chrisstaples182 Ya, I like the SimCore, Ascher and SRB wheel boxes. The gomez wheels look interesting as far as wireless goes.
You’re telling me I can put simcore shifters on my Ascher F28 SC??? How easy is it?
The install is very easy, it's just a matter of removing the bolts securing the shifter and tying the new connections in.
@@GTGREG thanks that will definitely be a future upgrade, wish you showed it on video before you sold it!
@@BobbyDuwitz I'll do you one better, I wish I never sold it😂😂
@@GTGREG I feel ya on that one! It sounds like a winning combo
Brother, I really feel for you! I watched half of SRG review and I stopped it right in the middle because I felt something is very wrong and I started loosing my trust on his reviews! How it looks is absolutely subjective and I really don’t like the look of this one but that’s just me ...talking about quality, brother I hurt just hearing your pain talking about this shit really! WTF man 1400$ for painted carbon???? Are those guys out of there mind??? Precision Engineering, you guys have some really great wheels but this feels more like scam 😕 we , the Simracing Drivers wort more ! I’m sorry for you again bro and I can really feel your pain 😔
Barry is a shill. He likes EVERYTHING. His job is to sell you a new item. Thats why he NEVER tells you something isn't worth buying
@@chrisjohnson261 he does so give negative feedback on things. I saw his review on this. He took it right apart and it's a carbon piece that goes all the way around the face. He held it right up to the camera. Unless this guy got a last gen wheel, he is out to lunch
I thought the same to, I watch Barry's reviews to see how things are constructed, software etc but in terms of a review he is overwhelmingly positive about everything, definitely shilling.
@@chrisstaples182 I find he only tends to give negative feedback on the lower end items, anything high end and pricey he raves about it as he probably doesn't want to annoy the people giving him all the free stuff
@@BASHERSKINZ such as? Since these comments iv seen him give negative feedback on plenty of expensive items and it suggestions
