Thank you for the truth of your video very helpful for me. I used to live in Leicester and I really appreciate your work. I agree about the graffiti a great shame!
Those abutments in the river were actually supports for the old railway line that terminated there and was the Swannington line which bought coal in from the mines out in the Coalville area. A link here worth reading en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leicester_and_Swannington_Railway
Thank you and thanks for watching. I had a feeling it was but the area has been so developed now it's hard to see what goes where! My next film covers more in the area and that line so I will feature it in that. Thanks again 👍
Great video. Looking at Railmaponline, the abutments at 7:30 seem to be from the former Midland railway to serve the industrial area now being turned to flats!
Thanks for watching . I thought they might be but dont seen to line up with anything now when on the ground! the area is changing so much its hard to visualise it when there.
So surprised and sad to hear that about having to constantly look over your shoulder in your own city Not the best area to be after dark eh?. Seems like Leicester has changed so much,Thanks for update.
The quality of engineering on the Great Central was second to none , despite theirs being a tight budget.

There was a lifting bridge over canal too leading to coal wharf.
Probably from Swannington line
Thanks for the update Middy, it's just a shame that there isn't more of the GCR in Leicester
Thanks for watching and I totally agree 👍

Thanks for watching. The area around the station wasn't too bad but under the bridge and the other side has an uneasy feel to it
What’s being built in the space where the demolition is happening?
Thank you for watching. I am not too sure to be honest but looking at the area I would imagine houses or more flats unfortunately.
Didn't take long for the local Bankseys to get to work 😢
Thanks for watching. its unbelievable isnt it? they have all the other brickwork thats already spoilt but they carry on making the place look a mess.
If onlt they were as good as Banksy!
