It used to be at most older hardcore gyms but it wasn’t popular so it started getting replaced with hack squats, v squats etc. now that it’s been made popular again(rightfully so) it’s slowly being added to the commercial line up
Holy sh*t this is the best educational and thorough demo ever! You explain everything so well & keep it short and simple. 👍 Now, I’m gonna go binge lol 😂
Thank you so very much for the videos you have been putting out of late, the biggies, squats, chest press, and deadlift! So informative, clear crisp instruction! Looking forward to so much more instruction……
I've been binging your content since coming across your channel. Watching you I realized I'm stepping out too far away from the bench when doing split squats. made the adjustment last week & wow, I havent been sore like this in a while. Subbed.... thx Kelly
I've been struggling to understand how much rest I really need for my muscles before moving to the next session. Could you do a video regarding recovery from your experience and perspective as a woman please? Thank you! Also lifting in my early 30s, and so much love from sunny Singapore.
Just discovered your videos. You explain everything so well. Plus , and please don’t take this the wrong way, but you have amazing legs. It shows me that you practice what you preach. Looking forward to more videos!
I really liked your enmphasis on the last exercise, it is an exercise you can even do at home, if you do this one wrong you can get back sore, as you said directing the waist is very helpful to release the pressure of the torso and back.
Kelly, I used to love doing the leg extensions, but I no longer go to a gym and haven't got the equipment. What's the best alternative exercise that builds the exact same muscles from leg extensions, and is there anything I can do to build monster quads by using resistance bands?
I’m a long femured guy myself. What always has help me is making sure my stance is wide enough and making sure I open my hips as I go down. Making sure your knees are slightly pointed out also helps with depth.
Get up more on your toes using that block angle she has, 6'3" all leg and when I squat on a plate or a wedge it helps us get lower into knee flexion. Don't widen your stance, it's gonna take a lot away from the vastus lateralis which is the biggest muscle of the quad and gives that sweep and places a lot of tension on the tear drop or inner quad muscle. You can also squat in the smith machine rack and use it's fixed angle to help you lean back so you don't fall👑💪🏽
What is the difference overall in barbell vs pendulum/hack squats? I only have the option of Smith squats and dumbbells at my gym currently, and will occasionally do a day pass at one with barbell and hack machines. My back prefers Smith or Hack though.
Question I have longer femurs so my body bends more forward during a back squat. Does this mean this isn't the most optimal exercise for my body if I'm trying to focus on quads. Should I focus on other exercises that don't compromise my form?
Ahh I can't do heavy squats because of lower back pain (I do staggered squats instead) and can't do leg extension because of knee pain (it cracks and hurts like crazy immediately) so I've been focusing on deadlifts a lot to not feel down every single time and now I need to do more quad work💪🏼🔥👺
Kelly, thank you so much for sharing with us the best exercises for quads. Also, thanks for all your demonstrations on how to execute the best form and movements. Let me compliment you on your beautiful legs. I hope you have a good Easter.
I'm able to deep squat with no problem, I can sit in an Asian squat very comfortably with zero issue. When I back squat (flat footed), I go ass to grass. Iv started elevating my heels with small weights while still going to the floor, basically because it makes it harder to do (requires more all around effort). Because it's harder I'm assuming there's more benefit. I'm just wondering if this is true. If I already squat as low as possible flat footed, is there any reason to elevate my heels?
I am so off balance it's not even funny. I think until I get stronger and more balanced maybe I just need to squat with dumbbells, instead of a barbell for now. I just feel like I'm not really going to get any gaines with dumbbells though. If anyone could help me.
Skip the Goblets and use a dumbbell in each hand and rest on top of shoulders. Much better for a front squat. Holding the dumbbell in a goblet will be limited by having to hold it up in front of you. You can load it much more with 2 dumbs resting on your shoulders.
if you pre-exhaust your quads with leg extensions, the back squat comes very naturally, taxes your core less, and lets you really focus on driving through your heels and hitting those glutes in the squat motion. Why would you want to tax your core less if you can handle it? So you can do more dumbbell romanain dead lifts :)
Never found a gym with an actual pendulum squat. I love hack squat machines but the pendulum is like an elusive unicorn for me.
you and me both
Majority of us 😢😢😢
Mine has one. You don't have to even use weight and it smokes you at 10 reps.
It used to be at most older hardcore gyms but it wasn’t popular so it started getting replaced with hack squats, v squats etc. now that it’s been made popular again(rightfully so) it’s slowly being added to the commercial line up
It’s the hardest squat I’ve ever done and barely used weight 😅

I’ll listen to you; those legs don’t lie!
i always feel barbel squat more in my glutes, and as a tall girlie who has longer femurs getting that deep is reaally uncomfortable
You can try low cable squats

Wow Beautiful Quads/Legs. Very impressive. Thank yup for this workout video
I sick at barbell free weight squat and in hack squat if i put my feet downward my heel lifts up i am sad how can i fix this 😢
Question... For quad days is it great to incorporate as one of your compounds exercises deadlifts?
Yea as if you really care.
Ahh I can't do heavy squats because of lower back pain (I do staggered squats instead) and can't do leg extension because of knee pain (it cracks and hurts like crazy immediately) so I've been focusing on deadlifts a lot to not feel down every single time and now I need to do more quad work💪🏼🔥👺
Would all these workouts be considered a leg day ? Workout or split them up
Jelly which collagen you use?

You could try Caroline Garvin. She has and app and here on youtube
@@marlapadilla7913 I already have her app lol. Been doing her work out for years. LOVE HER!
I stole your lunge lean, works 💪🏾
Well balanced 👍
I use heel inserts from the dollar store. They provide 20mm (4/5 inch) lift. It works well. For a buck.
The leg extension the weights were light
Don’t I have to lift heavy to get the bigger quads like yours??

Would love to see your weekly workout split
I’m finding it hard to grow out my outer quads. Do I need to specifically focus on That area or will these work for overall ?
Can you do quad with dumbbells video?
Great video, inspired already

Barbell front squats vs goblet squats? I like front squats more.
