  • Are you curious about how Starlink Internet is performing in a remote and unspoiled wilderness forest? Then watch this testing video to find out!
In this testing video, we use Starlink Internet to streaming HD video and 4K video in a remote and unspoiled wilderness forest. See how the technology performs and see if it's the best option for you!
I test out the new Starlink internet from the largest wilderness in the Eastern United States while doing a portion of the Georgia Traverse in my 4x4 Mercedes Sprinter Van

Starlink for RVs is ideal for customers traveling to locations where connectivity has been unreliable or completely unavailable.
Users can expect high speed, low latency internet in areas marked "High Capacity", and notably slower speeds during hours of peak usage in areas marked as "Low Capacity" or during events with many collocated users.
Starlink for RVs is not designed for use while in motion.

The Georgia Traverse is a collection of county, state and Forest Service roads that comprise a (mostly) off-pavement route across North Georgia. It is designed to be traveled east to west, beginning at Burrells Ford Road along the Georgia / South Carolina border. The Georgia Traverse visits North Carolina and Tennessee before ending at the Georgia / Alabama border. The total mileage of all paved and unpaved sections is 390 miles. I included a few alternate, off-pavement sections to explore along the Traverse. The total mileage includes the alternate sections, as shown in the map and represented in the download. However, roads not explicitly shown as part of the Traverse are not included in the mileage. Of the 390 total miles presented here, 226 miles are unpaved road surfaces consisting of gravel, dirt or both. Connecting the off-tarmac sections are 164 miles of pavement, with just over 40% of the paved miles found west of the Cohutta and Big Frog Wilderness Loop. Though I found limited opportunities for off-pavement connectivity in the western portion of the Traverse, I decided to include what I did find in an effort to offer a border to border travel experience across Georgia.

Great weather, I love those drizzly days. Nice set up you have there.

Awesome adventure! I wonder if they make a mesh screen or something where you can roll down or open/close like a curtain to keep bugs out and still keep all the doors open.... So while your cooking or airing out the rig you aren't swatting them little critters!

There are a few companies that make nice bug nets but I just haven’t gotten there in the build yet… the one I want seems to be one from a Canadian company… but it’s like $800… so… it might be a while!

love the idea of the air fryer versus microwave. what is the wattage used and brand? pretty satisfied so far?

    • @BigSexyBeastAdventures

I thought it was a gimmick… and now I love it. Veggies and mushrooms are awesome in it… have done steaks, eggs, veggies, crescent rolls, chicken… lamb chops are awesome in it… mine is a cusinart… the wattage varies depending on what you are doing… baking and toasting is lower wattage… air fryer is a lot… 1800-1900 watts… BUT…. Things cook very quick so it is pretty efficient overall.

Thank you my data was collected from this video. Star link will still be useless in thick vegetation. I wanted an example of the vehicle moving, trying to get internet under the vegetation. My guess wouldn’t work like the cell phone data issue.

Curious where this is in the Blue Ridge? I camp near Table Rock and am considering Starlink as no cell signal down by the creek. Some sky views tho.

Cohutta. As long as you have an unobstructed view of the sky you should be able to rock and roll

I'm going to test it in various places. I would have thought that the second night would have had much better service but I couldn't get connectivity at all and I thought the sky was more clear the second night. As to the obstructions in the app both sites show that it had obstructions.

Cool deal. I saw you and your rig last week at lost palms oasis, now I am a follower. Does induction cooktop use much battery?

    • @BigSexyBeastAdventures
      @BigSexyBeastAdventures  Год назад

Hello and welcome! It draws based on your temp setting. Between 600-1500 watts.... But... It cooks very fast... So if you are cooking for 15 mins @ 1500 watts you are only using 375 watt hours. Just make sure your inverter is big enough. I also have. That air fryer and electric kettle... Different roos for different jobs.

Welcome! I’ve spent a lot of time in Aus but haven’t made it to NZ yet. No, wild camping is free. You can stay in one spot for 14 days. Some people live full time just moving a mile or so every two weeks.

    • @BigSexyBeastAdventures

That goal zero is 6000 watts so a lot of power. Both draw massive loads but cooking time is very short with both. I do steaks in the air fryer. 5 minutes a side, 10 minutes total. About 1500 watts for 10 mins so about 250 watts to cook
