    12 year old Panasonic 1250watt microwave was headed to the dump until I seen your video! Bravo. Knew it had to do with the latch but didn't want to mess with it, glad I did. Took longer to get the security screws out than it did to repair and now it's like brand new again! Thanks!

    The pop rivet is such an elegant fix. You saved our microwave from the landfill! Thanks!

    Thank you, you saved us buying a new MW! We discovered the hook that held the bottom of the spring was broken so we drilled 2 holes through the bottom and threaded a piece of wire through to hold it. Result! And a MW saved from landfill.

      That's great! It would be a pity to throw it out over such a small fault.

    Thanks for taking the time to do this video. I was able to fix my microwave which had this exact problem. I wasn't happy riveting into the unknown so I placed a small strong angle bracket from the top screw on the metal plate that holds the lock mechanism and riveted the other end of the bracket to the angled galvanised metal overhand just above it. Works perfectly and is now very secure.

    Thank you sooooooo much! This absolutely worked, and I wouldn’t have had any clue that a rivet was the right solution!! Incredible!!

    Pop rivet fix is genius! I did this to my door and it works perfectly now. Panasonic should have done this at the factory.

    Woop, thanks for this! My problem was that the plastic hook had broken from the door facia and left the spring dangling. I fixed it by drilling two small holes at the bottom of the facia, and feeding a length of bent galvanized wire through them to hold the spring. Twisted it at the bottom to secure it where there's plenty of room provided by the feet. Again, thanks for taking the time to make the video.

    My Panasonic microwave has the spring issue, I slammed the door a bit harder than normal yesterday and then realised the door wouldn't shut, the bit that retains the spring has snapped off, so I'll just attach the spring to another part of the door, I bought this Panasonic Convector grill microwave in early 2001, so I've had over 20 years of service, I regularly use the grill to cook meat etc, Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Awesome!

    Good video! Helped me understand and fix my Panasonic microwave! I ended up drilling a couple of holes in that piece of metal, then used galvanized wire to attach to secure anchor points, being careful not to get in the way of the moving parts.

    This video was very helpful 👍 Repaired the spring inside the door. For me it was a little different. The bottom part where the spring was hooking on was broken. I just used a tie wrap and attached the bottom spring to one of those metal fins thingy

    is there a video which shows how you can remove the side panel with the push in door opening button at the bottom which has broken and the latch does not work because of it

    I tried to figure out how to reset the h98 fault code that was locked on the display board, after 3 or more h98 faults it permanently logs it onto the display and needs reset. I rung panasonic but they were unhelpful and rude. Do you know how? It's different methods of reset depending on the model of panasonic microwave

  • @avanola2612

    my problem is the tiny bit of white plastic that houses the small black plastic latch bit that enables the latch to open and shut...and that was not shown in this video..Ive seen where it has broken but the plastic bit is so tiny, and fiddly to get to to house it that il be binning my Panasonic microwave! what a shame

    Hi, have you every had a problem of the top microswitch on the top door hook not being depressed? Consequently the microwave won't operate as a result. What can cause this problem?

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  Год назад

      No I haven't. If the top hook on the door doesn't look broken then I would guess its the latch mechanism.

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  2 года назад

      Hi, if the time counts down as if it is going and table turns but it doesn't heat then it will be a problem with your Magnitron/Diode/transformer or inverter etc. rather then the door.
