- Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot accepted a new position in which she'll be tasked with investigating allegations involving embattled Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard.
Lightfoot was appointed as a special investigator by the village of Dolton's board of trustees at a meeting on Monday night.
An attorney and former federal prosecutor, Lightfoot will lead an independent investigation into claims of corruption, reckless spending and retaliation.

Just what exactly is Lori's reputation as a prosecutor. Some people are extremely good at some professions while terrible at others. Lori has always been successful as an attorney/prosecutor. Being mayor was way over her head. Fortunately for Dalton you've hired somebody who's eminently qualified to investigate and supply all the information necessary for prosecution.

A forensic accountant would bring more appropriate skills to the table. I can not see Lightfoot herself searching through credit card receipts, purchase order details and accounts payable records. She will likely assemble a team of legal assistants to do the boots on the ground research. Such an effort would burn through the allotted $30K in short order.
