I took shorthand as an administrative agent during my career word for word. It is VERY difficult, especially when arguments happen. But it CAN be done because I did it all the time! This clerk, I’m assuming, does NOT take shorthand! How dare the mayor call her out like that! What the mayor probably wants or needs for her meetings is a court stenographer if she wants it minute by minute word for word for someone that does not take shorthand! That’s easy. Tons of court stenos that are working. Hire them by the hour just for your meetings. But if I were the clerk there, I would do the same thing: summarize and “refer to recording.” I don’t think the clerk is doing anything wrong. I hate when people try to blame everything on somebody else. This mayor, ugh. Keep doing what you are doing Clerk. Mayor doesn’t even know what SHE is doing herself.

If you look at Super Mayor Tiff progression from just a trustee to Mayor and then Supervisor. That being said: Super Mayor Tiff has made a complete turnaround. What a shameful person this is. Doing so much behind people's back, the trustees back and some say totally against the law. The citizens definitely deserve better.

Minutes are never word for word. You'd need a court reporter to record them that way. They're always summaries of motions, topics discussed, and who committed to what actions. Word for word would be impossible and it's not required by Robert's Rules of Order. Henyard is such a blatant criminal. She reminds me of 45.

The lack of decorum is appalling.The meetings are conducted under Robert's rules of order and parliamentary procedures.These are not suggestions but must be adhered to in order to prevent just such actions by anyone including the mayor. All current and future board members should be required to set up a subcommittee and attend the meetings to become well versed in parliamentary procedures to deal with any situation that comes up at any formal meeting.This provides the answers to dealing with any person that refuses to conduct business,and city meetings from simply carrying out their administrative duties disregarding proper order at will.The citizens deserve proper organization by any and all elected or appointed officials that are supposed to be entirely accountable to all citizens.There should be a quorum number set to conduct any and all business on the agenda,failure to have a quorum present during all meetings at any point during those meetings that cannot be resolved by getting the quorum numbers back into the meeting requires all business be ended immeadiately after the announcement of the next scheduled meeting time and place and meeting adjourned.There is a great need for a policy representative present for all meetings,that establishes formal policies by votes by every member,they should also be a parlimentarian

From what I understand when she took over as mayor, the town had a surplus of a few million dollars in their accounts. Which is incredibly rare. And i'm assuming now those are probably gone.
I know what embezzlement looks like. My father had a secretary that was taking care of his bank accounts and through a typewriter with a backspace, She drained him. Keep an eye on the bank accounts. Made sure the accounts always had a couple of thousand in them to cover base expenses, So he wouldn't look at them and realize what was going on. She took $50000 consistently every year As far as we went back. once we got back ten years, it became so depressing to my father just made us stop looking. She worked for him over 20 years
I was an old fashioned secretary and I hate to back Tiffany up on any point but it is true that the minutes should be in hard copy typed format for ease in accessing the individual statements made by meeting participants. That is a valid point.
I gotta tell you. No matter what you think of what's going on in Thornton/Dolton, that meeting (which you can see on the local news Lansing Journal) was entertaining as all hell.
