Thank you! You explained what the lever was for as the rental people had no idea on how to use it. I had watched videos on what grit to use and thank goodness because the lady at the rental place tried to give me a 20 grit.. i looked at her like omg uh? I said to her "we are not tearing the floor up we are refinishing the floor lol omg she had no idea on what to give me so i explained to her what i needed and with time she found what i was looking for.. It has taken several hours to do our living room floor but we are done and it looks great! Thanks again for the awesome video!

Thanks for video. So when sanding a deck with uneven 6" boards with some cupping, would it be best to sand straight with the grain or on a slight angle? If an angle, what degrees? Thanks.

If you do the math in terms of amps per square inch of contact (20 amps in contact with the entire machine weight on one infinitely small circular point, 8 inches long), you have more psi, and thus a more aggressive sanding than any other method on a 120 volt outlet. (This is why a belt sander needs to be 220V.) The random orbit sanders, wattage per square inch, is simply not aggressive enough to get all the scratches and material off a floor. The average person sees the surface turn milky, so they think that they got the varnish off, but they have not.
I do not believe that I have used the ez-8, but it looks less satisfying that a Tilt machine. The user can feel the machine work in the pull pass. This tactile feel offers so much satisfaction that you do not get on the forward pass. Also more parts to break.
It is the satisfying feeling on the backwards stroke that is made me want to buy my first machine....
I also hate premade, propriety sand paper, because I have to cringe every swap knowing the overcharge of the the sheet. The resulting stomach ache from this unnecessary stress makes a person hate their unit.
Clark demonstrated that all you need is an 19 inch sheet and a recessed bar on the drum with 3 screws. It takes kneeling 1 minute to cut the sheet, maybe less with a metal template.
