The Boosted Boiz MR2 needs some quality brakes like that. Just a video ago Kyle said the factory brakes were doing fine which makes me think they have no plans to upgrade though.
Great Brakes. Doug you have a good presentation style. Confident, approachable not cocky or arrogant. Makes a guy feel good about buying products from Motion. You guys have really changed the face of the aftermarket.
On a drag racing application the bigger contact patch is on the rear of the car. It is counter intuitive to most applications but works best on a drag racing setup
I want a vented front brake rotor that’s better then stock, but allows a 15 inch wheel. For a 1979 camaro lighter than stock better braking and you can take a spirited Drive
Considering the speed you guys were going and the mountains with a trailer. I don't think there would be a problem with this in a street strip car that can be daily driven
About the only downfall would be pad rotor life versus a traditional. Even tho these look good after 3k miles, they wouldn’t live up to the 20-40k standards most are used to
On a street/drag car with small tires in front and something like a 275 or larger in the back, do you mess with brake bias at all? Edit: bias as in pressure bias with a balance bar or proportioning valve, it seems as though the size of the pads and possibly piston size is different for the rear
The way we set the car up with 4 piston in the rear and 2 piston up front and with proper pedal ratio and bore size there is truly no need to. If you ever have questions feel free to reach out we are happy to help. For folks running our medium duty fronts on heavier cars it may be necessary
In drag racing the larger braking power is on the back axle where the vehicle has the larger contact patch. It’s counter intuitive to the way a factory vehicle or road race style car is configured. But most folks who run big front brakes on a drag car with small tire up front end up taking bias out of the front to keep the tire from skidding. Additionally if you think of how a dragster stops (rear brakes only) it makes sense too. The removal of the front weight is a benefit as a compliment to function
@@MotionRaceworksOfficial gotcha. Just figured it being setup for drag and drive the bigger pads would be up front. Great info. Hopefully one day I will finish my blazer.
*** How much noise are expected with these? I have front and rear, and with mild to heavy pressure i get a grinding noise with no evidence of grinding. I dont hear this noise in cleetuss or your videos *****
@@MotionRaceworksOfficial I would be cool to see the updates of the cars getting to that point of racing. What about progress on the Blazer? What cars are going racing?

Kyle definitely could use this upgrade!

I agree. The Mr2 is going really fast. Hook them up Doug. 😄👍

Thank you!
Now make a brake with that tech FOR daily driver replacement. Thanks and love you guys!
What's the heaviest a car can be to run these reliably on a Drag and Drive type set up?
Can you get a coating on the rotors to prevent rust where pads do not touch.
For those of us who have big brake kits eg 4 piston callipers vented rotors etc is there a race setup for them?
So these are not suited for street use? Roll racing in Mexico, if we add the fronts and rear.
Is there a TBM kit for the 04-06 GTO platform? Or is there a kit coming? Love your stuff Doug. Thanks
Andy tells us he is working on one in his free time
I own a '05 GTO that would benefit from TBM.
Curious as to why the brakes are biased toward the rear?

@@MotionRaceworksOfficial good to know, thanks for the response.
Thanks that was awesome!
Would there be a possible thing tbm breaks for jeep jku?
what size tire do you guys run on the rear of that car when racing? And do you guys have an e-brake option for the rear?

Any thing in process for Chevy gmt800 guys?
Great video. Lots of good information. 👍🥃🤘
Do they squeal any?
Does tbm do custom one off set up.
At the current time we don’t have the machining capacity to do this, in the future we may do more stuff like this

They make noise, especially depending what pads you are using. The TBMs have a unique sound to them
