An angel embracing the sweetest instrument. Technically she plays perfect and clean, but is the soul that she puts in every piece she interprets from the classic, baroque or folklore world of music what makes the pieces more beautiful and enjoyable. Bravo maestra!
In ~1978 I saw Segovia perform in Kleinhans Hall in Buffalo NY. The stage was dusty; with a single stool. The old man shuffled out, sat, and started to play. At that moment, the volume of the hall filled. Every note was a work of art, with its own unique character. Listening to you brought that moment back to me. May you continue to flourish.
I have listened to just a few of your videos, but I am so impressed by your talent. I have been playing guitar since I was 8. I am 60 now. Your passion in this piece makes me tear up. I think I could recognize your playing style now where/however I may hear you play, because it moves me so much, plucking my heart strings so to speak. It renews my own musical passion, though I could never reach your level of playing..... I can do Carcassi's Opus 60 study No. 7 as one of my personal bests, hehe, I thought that was something, hehe. Yet again I have been put in my place. The Classical expressions in your playing are very musically pleasing and fresh. Thank you for your endless hours of constant training, pain, triumphs, and commitment to your art so you could share a little of your musical soul with us as beautifully as you do. Best wishes to you and yours. I will never forget your music. You now live in my head With the likes of Beethoven, Carcassi, the Gershwins, Pink Floyd, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Roy Clark, Jerry Reed, etc. hehe! Nice guitar as well.
I don't know whom to thank more: The interpret in this video or the arranger. This was absolutely beautiful and for 4 minutes, i was taken out of were i am sitting and into a another sphere. Thank you, Stephanie!
Je pense être du même avis que vous sans m'interroger..... l'accord de l'interprète et de l'arranger sont convaincants. Pour les paroles écouter les Beatles et vous avez "all right" Bonsoir
That is, for me, the most wonderful solo instrument arrangement of Yesterday I have ever heard. And I cannot imagine it being played any better, by anyone. A joy to watch your technique, too. Such wonderful hands.
🎶🌸 Sheesh. Tone, nuance, and breath. Those are Stephanie Jones' strengths. Breath: the rests, extension, and spaces between passages of notes which are equally as critical for a piece to have life and much, much more.
il più grande chitarrista classico in assoluto. Che piacere ascoltarlo ti porta in cielo, in uno spazio siderale dove c'è lui con la chitarra e tu che ascolti incredulo
Oh my dear Stephanie! what part of excellence is the arrangement, the instrument, and the performer! Again, you have improved on a masterpiece. Love the distinct notes, no fret noise, the passion with with you recite the poetry of the music: thank you! Happy birthday grandmother indeed!
Damn, that is one sweet instrument! So open and vibrant. Doesn't hurt that Steph's the one playing it. And such an amazing arrangement. Thanks for this!
Bravissimo!!👏👏. Congratulation, only wonderfull. Thank you for your bless
Hello Stephanie. I am sure your Grandma had a tear in her eye and her heart was bursting with pride. A beautiful birthday present from her grand daughter. Those magical 3:48 would have made her feel her life was fulfilled by an indelible memory.
I wish I could play guitar like that. I taught myself to play the piano by ear from listening to my mom play. The Beatles were the first songs I taught myself. Thanks for this great song.
A wonder of talent! Thank God there are folks like you that take the time to give us a moment in time to remember our true sense of being! I wish you the very best of happiness always!
Fantástico Stephanie ! Um arranjo belíssimo agregado a uma execução perfeita e repleta de requintes técnicos. Você certamente deixou sua vovó muito feliz com esse presente! BRAVO !
Wow ... somebody's been practicing. Amazing fretboard work! Truly a serious musician. I'll bet those four rag-tag hippy lads from Liverpool had no idea the enduring beauty they'd be bringing to the world back in the day. They were just having fun. But "Yesterday" was one of their seminal pieces, and this amazing young woman makes it even more special.
Many thanks for this. I’m only a middling amateur , for the last 50 years, heard many other guitarist concerts , but there is something about your playing that is just so refreshingly brilliant. It’s at new heights. So, thanks again for another beautiful posting , superb.
you are just amazing - you make me want to play better. And set the bar very high!!! Thank you for sharing your talent here. Be blessed and never stop playing!!!
Hard to write how absolutely beautifully you play this piece .. you’ve taken a simple Beatles Rock tune and elevated it to something angelic . Your chords , the stretch of your fingers , your mastery .. outstanding .
I love that you're so passionate in your expressions. I can tell that you're really feeling the music and that's such a beautiful thing. I could sense the sorrow and melancholy in your performance and that's a good, because that's what this song was originally meant to express. This is the first time I've seen one of your video's! I look forward to seeing more! But I hope the next video will be a happy song! After watching this, I really just want to see you smile. I am willing to bet and guess that you have a very bright and cheerful smile.
You played so good and with feelings.I heard in RUclips the Interview of Paul McCartney, he composed the music to his Biological Mother that he missed and dedicated The song Yesterday to her.
You GO girl. Although I am from the '60s I'm so very proud of many millennials who have taken the time to look back over the greatest rock songs in history. NOT because I have a prideful, arrogant attitude that says "my generation was the best". NO, but because it is not until the youngsters eat, breath-in, play and enjoy the '60s and 70's music, (and use that as a foundation), that they can ADVANCE and take us all to NEW heights and new directions with EQUAL greatness. Everyone of the greats of the 60s and 70s started out by doing the music of those who went before ....
Takemitsu is amazing!!! Highly recomend “From me flows what you call time”. Its very experimental and dissonant but its an astonishing experience aswell
Stephanie: Thanks for your contribution to us who value and enjoy, talent and virtuosity. You add that personal touch to every piece you play that I can't help but love and admire. To me, you have a Midas golden touch that betters even what's already excellent. It takes thoughtfulness and thorough understanding to give every interpretation you play the scent of your soul and mind. Thanks for sharing your essence in your music. It touches and blesses me! Angel Saúl
Sir Paul McCartney would be PROUD! That was one of the BEST Beatles 'Covers' I've ever heard!
Flawless technique with incredible sensitivity. What a beautiful performance.
An angel embracing the sweetest instrument. Technically she plays perfect and clean, but is the soul that she puts in every piece she interprets from the classic, baroque or folklore world of music what makes the pieces more beautiful and enjoyable. Bravo maestra!
The Beatles are nothing more than timeless. What a song!! And this masterful arrangement couldn't be played better!

I saw Segovia in Liverpool in 67 and again in 72. He was the Master. However we now have Stephanie - if only they could have performed together.
