- Partially based off the versions by Jeff Buckley and Per-Olov Kindgren!
A video from last summer, arranged and recorded for my mum's birthday :) Playing with me this time is my amazing camera guy and fellow Weimar Guitar Quartet member Jakob Schmidt!
Absolutely Brilliant Guitarists, I am 70 and this gives me hope.
I am 63
This is one of my all time favorite songs, and boy did these two do it justice.
As beautiful as this composition is for the listener, I believe Cohen must have created this for the performer......No matter the performing discipline, everyone who renders this creates something uniquely better than what they are capable of with a different piece.
It can't be just me......This is truly just that special......... Thank you Leonard..... R.I.P.
It's such a beautiful thing to see two musicians in sync with each other and their instruments.
Well done!
Please i am ? True ma be❤
One of the most beautiful melodies that I heard played in the most beautiful of musical instruments, the classical guitar. The magic begins when two musicians played it with a beautiful interpretation and arrangement.
What a tribute to Mr. Cohen! Thank you for going to the trouble of arranging and performing this so tastefully and successfully. I never would have thought of lending this to the guitar.
Feeling i doing me? Not. True shure❤ i. am told me❤
How can anyone not like this? It is just beautiful.
First Thank you, I Am Hearing impaired and 56 Years Old. Beautiful playing and Sounds. One of my favorite Songs. Going to My Favorites List
This is a great performance, I just enjoyed listening this wonderful song while I was driving at work. Thnks so much.
Simply beautiful, shows what a great instrument the guitar is in the right hands, thank you.
Utterly stunning beautiful magical and wondrous! EXQUISITE! Thank you BOTH for such a truly heart lifting soul warming smile bringing delight!
The exchange taking place between the two guitarists and their instruments is beautiful to watch as well as hear. God bless your beautiful souls!

Had me crying by the end of it,just simply gorgeous. Got more out of this listening on a Sunday morning then I ever did going to church.
As I've said elsewhere on RUclips, the church of music is the best church.

I am overwhelmed by the beauty of all this. Thank you.
Fantastic ... again touching the soul, not just my ears. "Love" is a good descriptive for the feeling it causes.
Your Mum must be incredibly proud of you Stephanie. Your arrangement of this beautiful piece of music is truly a masterpiece. Thankyou so much.
I keep coming back to this. The beautiful Stephanie Jones plays astonishly well and is well complemented here. Bravo.
It's beautiful, and very well played. I 'm sure Léonard Cohen should have loved very much this. Congratulations....

So beautiful I could hardly breathe ... enriched my day. Thank you.
STEPHANIE And JAKOB you are so Much TALENTED. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's as pleasing to watch a beautiful performance as to listen to it.
Always something exceptional from Stephanie.
Wow - how can two guitars generate so much emotion! I closed my eyes, but the tears still came! Beautiful arrangement with a delicacy and finesse that Cohen himself would love.
Exquisite arrangement beautifully played; thank you for sharing.

I found this gem a few days ago; I have not been able to do a thing other than watch and listen. A wonderful and significant addition to the world's brighter side.
Great harmonizing of the two guitars and skillful playing.
The score, the score, a kingdom for that score!! Very very nice arrangement and delivery. Thanks!
Juste magnifique ! Merci ♡
That's what I call perfection. Both performance and arrangement. This has been on RUclips for more than two years and only 750K views? Really?
I'm enjoying so much watching & listening these youngster's making such beautiful music. I just found your channel I love it! Thank You> Dave.

Great song, beautiful playing, and Stephanie is such a cutie. Great video.
Beautiful, kind & sweetly gentle. Leonard is smiling...
Its hard to believe how anyone could not like this music. Excellent.
Wow, never thought I'd see an angel play the guitar. Wonderful performance.
wohl eines der schönsten Gitarrenstück das ich je gehört habe. Danke Euch Beiden.
My favorite. Wonderful!
Absolutely gorgeous! There are so many versions of this song out there. This is one of the best!
Beautiful done. Thank you.
Have to admit, when I see this song title I say to myself "Really?? We need _another_ cover version of this??" But I have to admit this is a combo I haven't seen before - why not.

Stunningly beautiful. God bless you guys. Love from England
What a beautiful gift to have and to give, enjoyed by all as long as we live.
This is a beautiful composition of a sacred standard. x
one of my favorite songs played like I have never heard it before--love it
Blimey. That was perfection.
I've been desiring to hear beautiful music for what seems like forever, and now I've found some. It's so wonderful to hear the instrument and not the musician while listening to the perfectly, pleasuring sounds of music.
My ears have found heaven.
Wow! There are no words to adequately describe the beauty of this video! It's a beautiful song to begin with but you two multiplied that beauty by a thousand.
Maravilhoso, espetacular!!!👏👏👏. É uma benção ouvir e ver essas interpretações. Que bom que vocês tornaram esses shows acessíveis para todos, pois antes só era possível se fôssemos a um bom teatro. Mas agora todos têm a oportunidade e o direito à boa arte.
Two angels.
can an an angel be a male?????
@@tonyhammond4539 Can not. Nor the female. Angels are sexless.
Hebrews 13:2 " .........some have entertained angels unawares." KJV
@@hymnbonist1335 I think music is as close to heaven as we can get while still on earth.
Amazing. It was really good. The variation in the end, with the tremello, was beautiful
That would be "TREMOLO"...not tremello..lol..
Simply beautiful
Beautiful. Thanks. A bit closer to heaven...
Absolutely wonderful!
She is an angel!!! 😍
Great technique with tremolos which are perfectly synchronized. Well done !
É de chorar, é de rir e sorrir de tanta emoção, meus ouvidos agradecem. Parabéns- parabéns!!
Absolutely lovely!
Thank you for a wonderful performance.
Wow!! Beautiful.
Beautiful arrangement, gorgeous musician. She looks like an elf from a fantasy world
simply wonderful
That heartfelt performance brought a tear to my eye. Beautiful. 💗
belíssimo arranjo. E exelente interpretação
The classical guitarists I've played with are generally very good musically but rhythmically challenged. Everything in this performance is cued, timed, and played beautifully.
One might imagine that this is similar to what young David played for God and Saul. Brilliant! Bravo to both artists.
You both did great! Very talented!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍
Sunday morning Stephanie playing one of most favorite of songs ...Blessed Sunday to you Stephanie..beautiful rendition.
Es embriagantemente alucinante & hermosa la interpretación que hicieron.... ; gracias por compartir su talento..!
Simply beautiful you both played so well.
beautifully played. can't help listening to it all day.
Bravo. Most beautiful performance and thank you both for this wonderful version of this lovely piece.
Just fantastic! Thanks so much! And if any lady looked at me like that, i wouldn't be able to play
Yep ... Goosebumps.
R.I.P Dad.
Très beau duo, musicalement et physiquement. J'aime cette interprétation que je ne connaissais pas. Un grand Merci à tous les 2 et à Mr Cohen. Gros bisous de France
Like always, you have a deep touch to the heart. That's also a unique performance. Congrats. By the way, thank to your mum for us, for bringing you to this world.
I do believe Leonard Cohen would be proud.
I think so
Thank you , I enjoyed that very much....... Cheers
Taken to a beautiful level
I love the music you gift us with, thank you.
Stephanie is so incredibly good. The arrangements of these songs are wonderful. :)
Besides the MARVELOUS composition and performance, I especially like how beautifully it seems as if the melody and chorus change from one guitar to the other and back. I don't know the right terms for it, but you can guess what I mean, right? And I don't know if it's really happening or just in my mind, but it adds sugar to the already amazing cake!
yes accompanying one another by trading off on the melody and having one anothers back with great camera work this was fun to watch and listen to ..

So beautiful with two guitars.
Well done Stephanie and Jakob. Extremely delicately handled with a piece from our late-great musical poet, Leonard Cohen. I'll bet that he is up there in a better place, and listed to every fine note. Bravo.
Simply Beautiful!!!
Woooooooow... "Beautiful" and "amazing" are so overused, they don't do it justice. You had me smiling up to my ears, clicking back several times just to hear something particular once more or enjoy a look, a smile or some other part of your body language again.
my favorite part is from 03:05 to 03:30, I could repeat it for ever
Absolutely fantastic!!
Now, I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light in every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand before the lord of song
With nothing on my tongue but hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
