      Mark, it's a process. Learning the basics isn't all that much fun but well worth it. When I first started, I wanted to skip right to painting a really cool painting. That's why I quit twice. In my third attempt, I decided to start at the beginning and learn the basics. Just take it one step at a time, and you will get there. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching.

    Thanks brother for your knowledge. I'm a taxidermist. Avid fisherman. So I decided to learn how to paint lure blanks. Been researching for few months n watching lots of videos. I had already decided createx was my choice of paint. Now I see I can get everything I need in the wicked. .. I will master this before the candy 2o.. u gave me some good information. Hopefully I can learn more from you in the future. ..

    Jparry, I agree. I believe the 4012 is from older sets. It is still a good reducer, it contains Acetone, I think that's one of the reasons the y are getting away from it. The other is it doesn't mix well with the 4030 but there is no reason to use the 4030 since the UVLS clears came out. It mixes well with all there paints. If Createx is hard to get in Singapore, what paint do most airbrusher's use?

      Dan, first, thanks. I think it went all digital. I am guessing paper back was to expensive to produce. I read Airbrush The Magazine and Airbrush Step by Step on my Magster digital magazine app. It cost 50 a year and you have access to over 5000 magazines. It is way cheaper to get the digital versions this way. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

      Mike, that's a tough one. I never had to do that. If it was illustration I would say a little water. But with Wicked I would use the 4011 reducer. For the price and convince I would just order a new one. You will have it in a day or two. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

    I'm starting to get back into airbrushing again my question is with the candy paint is it a good idea to use mixing cups with measuring units on the cups? I understand that you need to use the 4050 first so for a example if I use 2 ounces of 4050 I would use 10 percent of the candy and then 10 percent of reducer, right?

    • @TheAirbrushGarage
      @TheAirbrushGarage  3 года назад +2

      If mixing large enough amounts for a mixing cup it is 6 to 16 parts of the clear and one part of the candy. If mixing small amount directly in a cup the mixed ratio is Is is different I tell the ratios in the video but when it comes down to it if I am mixing directly in my airbrush I mix approximately 50% of the clear and 50% of the candy with 10% reducer

      Bubba6, I use it on a lot of different projects. I am currently doing a video on a crystallized effective, and candy goes over that. I also love doing skulls and candy ingredients over them. Great for Ghost flames. Or just beautiful to build about 3 to 5 coats or more over a silver or gold metallic. You get a deep, beautiful color, and when you clear it, wow! I can keep going. Lol

      CJ, not sure why Createx even came out with the 4013. I have tried it and it works just like the 4011. The most current videos from Chris Arpin at Createx always recommends 4011 they never mention the 4013. 4011 contains propylene glycol monomethyl ether Aceatate and 4013 has isopropyl alcohol. It look to me that the 4013 is not as harsh physically and environmentally. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.

    I recently bought creates but they are still sending the candy2O sets with 4012 reducers.not the 4011, I am asking if they re clearing stocks fo rather 4012 reducers since many on the web are saying 4012 is inferior to 4011 and creates has already stop producing it, why are we still getting 4012.but vertex support says 4012is OK.

    • @TheAirbrushGarage
      @TheAirbrushGarage  3 года назад

      Jparry, 4012 will work I have used it for years. It's main ingredient is Acetone. I only had trouble with it when I would mix it with the 4030 Clear and since the UVLS Clears came out I will never use the 4030 anyway. Createx does recommend to use the 4011 with all there paints. If you contact Createx more than likely they will send you a bottle of 4011. Hope this helps. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.

      @@TheAirbrushGarage Thank you for your reply. Becos I lived in Singapore, The shipping cost is 100% of the paint cost itself. Createx (I bought from spray gunner). I asked them to send to a USA address VPOSTUSA and then this Sg postal service in USA will sen d to me in Singapore. But the shipping cost is still not cheap. I save abt 40% provided I maximised the shipping cost. But this is again beyond my control. Spraygunner packer just packed the way they liked and shipping me lots of air from USA. It is also this that one bottle of paint was broken as there were too much movement. BTW they shipped me 50% air with the paint. I just read what you said and read the data sheet and in noway was 4012 mentioned. But unfortunately they ship me 2 x bottles of 4012 in the Candy2O sets. I asked them but they says it is oK to use 4012. They are not being honest. if it is OK then the data sheet should have stated 4012 in the candy2O. They are trying to clear 4012 stocks and don't care about problem faced with the customer, I guessed.

    I use createx exclusively for doing my fishing lures and one of the things that I've learned from watching fishing lure videos is they always heat set the paint with a hair dryer I didn't see you mention anything about the candy 2.0 or any of the other colors that you were describing requiring a heat set is this something that is still required
