  • Check out the measurements here.
    So I've had a side hustle of selling satin bonnets and pillowcases for a while now. I've already uploaded a DIY satin bonnet video so do check it out.
    I just wanted to share my skills and hopefully encourage someone to put their skills to the test or also start a small business on the side.
    Specifications
    Back: 35.5' by 19' / 90.3 cm by 48.3 cm
    Front: 28' by 19' / 71.2 cm by 48.3 cm
    The back piece contains the overlap for the envelope.
    Ensure to have the shiny side of the satin (right side) be the side for the end product.
    I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I do and make a business out of it if you can ;).

    hello, what material to use? I made it from an artificial silk (it has 97% polyester and 3% elastane) but in the morning it appears with spots. Which may be?

    • @Azaniatresses
      @Azaniatresses  4 года назад

      Hey there. I use satin. I’m not an expect at materials so I wouldn’t be able to advise why it has spots appearing. For the purpose of hair and skin, it would be best if the blend doesn’t absorb moisture and has a smooth feel to the touch. Maybe change up the material and try satin

    • @DintlePondo
      @DintlePondo 3 года назад

      Either use silk or satin because any other material will absorb the oils and products on your hair as well as your skin.

    • @Azaniatresses

      The material will be faced right sides together and the long side will be overlapped to the shorter side. This will cause the right side of the envelope to face the wrong side of the short side.
      I hope this was clear.

    Hey hey. How big is the pillow in terms of inches

    • @Azaniatresses
      @Azaniatresses  4 года назад +7

      Hey. The front part id 28 inches long and the back part is 35.5 inches long in order to make the envelope. They’re both 19 inches wide. These measurements include seam allowance. Hope this was helpful.

    What can I do if the satin fabric is thin?

    • @Azaniatresses
      @Azaniatresses  2 года назад +1

      It’s suggested to use a smaller needle so it won’t damage the fabric.
      There are different types of satins so you can try and find one that’s not as thin.

    What size needle did u use?

    • @Azaniatresses
      @Azaniatresses  4 года назад

      Of the machine? I can’t say since it came that way with the machine. I’m a beginner-ish in sewing so unfortunately I don’t know much about needle sizes and intricate details such as that.
