Awesome welding tips, Matt. That's one joint you definitely don't want to fail.

Howdy Matt, it was a pleasure meeting you at Hershey! On the topic of F1 pedal assemblies, is there a way to attach the clutch linkage to the clutch fork without the use of the F1 equalizer shaft?

Excellent as usual Matt. I'm always one step behind you so your videos are really great for me. I've got the F1 crossmember sorted out for my 29 Roadster and the F1 pedals are enroute from a friend. I really need to get a tig welder I'm thinking. Do you see any issues tacking the pedal arms together with a mig and then taking it to a buddy who's a pro to tig it properly? That is after determining the length and grinding a bevel for good penitration. I'm not a pro welder just a home gamer who's an ok welder. Anyone who says different doesn't get invited back to my shop, haha. Things like the F1 steering box flange, and the brake pedal are maybe not the best tig welding projects for someone like me who'll be new to tig welding.
One side question that I realize I should probably ask over on the Eastwood channel. But I guess I'm lazy. I apologize. Are the Eastwood tig consumables the same as other brands or are they specific to Eastwood? There are no welding shops carrying Eastwood branded stuff in my area.
Hey if you've got any tips for measuring then shortening a torque tube and driveshaft I'd love to see that down the road. How close does the length have to be and what's the best way to measure the length? Do you ditch the centre support bearing? Cut and have resplined or cut and weld together? That kind of stuff.
    Cheers,

-I would definitely agree with the idea that you should have a pro TIG weld this instead of it being one of your first TIG projects. If you're proficient in MIG or Gas welding you could definitely do it that way. Adding straps or fishplates to either side of the pedal arms for piece of mind is good as well.
-Eastwood TIG welders all use industry standard consumables.
-We'll be tackling the torque tube and driveshaft shortening process in the very near future on the T, so stay tuned!

A vacuum booster makes us all equal. It is hard to make drop pedals fit everyone. If I had the floorboards in then it went where they said. I have cheated and put swingers in and a lot of times used fly by wire for throttle. Linkage never fits two people the same. I just make it mine and if I let you drive then count yourself very close as a friend. I built one A model with the real old flat head caddie I think you would of liked and I faked the rails in front so it worked and noone was the wiser. Best part was the power.... two wheel peels till cows came home but once is enough for me to check the strength of my stuff

those ford pedals are forgings not castings so they weld just fine pre heat, weld,( low hydrogen electrode if stick welding) and post heat then slow cool (stick in dry sand till cold )jobs rite no reinforcing required
