Is the rule where they run out of the court and hit the ball directly into the net on the opponents side a bit stupid? Surely it should have to at least bounce once before hitting the net?

I don't agree that it is stupid, it gives the defending team a good counter to the out of court shot. Also, if the rule is that you have to hit the court first then ordinary balls that bounce on the top of the net should also be out.

The rule is that you can hit the ball into the opponents’ net anytime it comes off the back wall. On court, you can wait for the ball to come back over the net off the back wall, and then hit it on the opponents’ side into the their net. It’s what makes the game so dynamic.

that shot is equal to a shot that "rolls" over the net from their own side. Therefore it is not a special rule, rather it is following the rest of the game.

@@andytaylor-fo4pk You can hit it into the opponents net even though it has not come off the back wall, for example when they hit a shot that spins back without touching the glass.
