Yes
I think that in video where i don't really know what to expect you should really add timestamps. That helps a great deal rewatching certain bits and general navigation.
Many creators have started to apply this in their videos as youtube has also started supporting it natively
This is my very first and sincere suggestion.
Geek here 🙋🏻♀️ been following you and your work for a year, inspiring. Are you an entp? I think you are. Not that it matters much but it makes sense if you are. Great stuff, looking fwd for more “long term strategy” theme video instead of tactical

a tip : watch series on Flixzone. Been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
I'm glad that Hydra was defeated by more than just the Avengers
Hahahaha true !!
Same 😆😂
Literally what I was thinking! I had to rewind about 5 times to see if he actually said Hydra 😂

Some times "Why Not?" Is more effective than "What If?" for me
How U use this question " Why not do this instead of this ? " Is simular to what if no ?
Instead of:
"What if I do drugs"
Say
"Why not i do drugs"
@@hhfbko I think, the term use makes differences. What "if" will make you wonder. Why "not" will make you think the consequences and results. I don't have technical research so don't attack me. Hahahaha
"Others have seen what is and asked why. I have seen what could be and asked why not.” - Pablo Picasso
"Why not" is more about exploring new opportunities and "What if" is like overthinking
Remember: Oftentimes, you need a more direct plan; a checklist, if you will. Tell yourself: I’ll accomplish this, then this, then this. Often times people go too broad, and then get overwhelmed. It’s much harder to get overwhelmed when everything is one step at a time.
it's easy to overwhelm people with a step by step plan. just use a lot of steps.
@@ericvantassell6809 Breka those down into substeps and you've got a great productivity system.
Right. The key is keeping the steps small enough. Get too big or too ambitious along the way and you end up back in overwhelm world.

You can now use ChatGPT to create this list for you
I would like to add 4 questions you can ask yourself when trying to determine the best action to take (sort of like a more organized what-if analysis). I first discovered these questions while reading Dr. Ben Carson's book "Take the Risk", which I highly recommend.
1. What is the best possible outcome if action is chosen
2. What is the best possible outcome if action is not chosen
3. What is the worst possible outcome if action is chosen
4. What is the worst possible outcome if action is not chosen
Once you have answers to these 4 simple questions, it often becomes clear what the best alternative is.
😜Wish I could have a “what if” situation on the RUclips videos I decide to watch. Then I could avoid all the click bait and spend my time watching actual good content like this one
Mike and Matty yes ! That would be great idea
Thomas, thank you so much for THIS!!! Many of us think tactically, but not enough of us think more STRATEGICALLY!!
Chris Vincelli - Personal Development & Investing thank you 😊
yes because tactics come natural to humans and strategy is using more of your brain and pushing
What I find difficult is acting on the plan. Is there a stage where there is too much planning and not enough action? Is it easier to plan once you’ve already reached success? I think most people have an uncertainty about their plan which leads to inaction. That uncertainty is also coupled with fear. Attacking those 2 areas of ones plan to change or accomplish something, I feel is necessary to then really take advantage of planning.
oh yes definitely, sometimes i put things off because i don’t have a direct plan, so, i keep on planning. But eventually it turns into a “i can’t do this without the plan being perfect” when in fact you already have to tools to act. done is better then being perfect.
Sounds to me like you need a more direct plan; a checklist, if you will. Tell yourself: I’ll accomplish this, then this, then this. Often times people go too broad, and then get overwhelmed. It’s much harder to get overwhelmed when everything is one step at a time.
This answer is probably incomplete, but I find that setting deadlines for myself helps me to strike that balance between planning and action. I know I can always course-correct along the way, so it's useful to make the best plan I can in a short amount of time, and then to use a deadline as a way to spur myself to get things done.
To reiterate what Dee said it is much better to decide/act then to wait until everything is aligned perfectly. By the time everything is 💯 aligned the window of opportunity may have closed.
@@Thomasfrank Yeah i can agree with that. But then that brings up the question of external vs internal deadlines and accountability.
A major advancement in my bullet journaling was adding an anticipation entry for each calendar item. For example, when I had a doctor's appointment, I would enter what I expected to change after I attended that appointment. I also added space for anticipating events or changes in conditions that were outside conventional calendar items. Turns out, I became far better at predicting the course of my future, particularly in the short term.
Sweet
Thank you THOMAS! I just recently lost my job due to the pandemic! Since then, I’ve launched a RUclips channel on Personal Development… And it is GROWING!! Thank you for all of your work, and to everyone else… Never give up!!!
It's crazy how much value you provide. I'm not just talking about this video in particular but through all your work you inspire me so much. Thank you.
"What-if" is a great technique but another one you can use is "what can I" where you then think about what you can think, feel or do about a situation to improve your desired outcome
I did that since I was like 3 but with a criminal mindset. Like what if I went up to this person and attacked them how would they react and I would imagine it lol
Your videos quality is so professional! And you look very elegant Thomas haha, nice video and solid information!
Big thank you Thomas for the great content you provide. You're inspiring lots of young people! You inspired me to start a RUclips channel during the pandemic and I already have almost 200 subscribers :) so thank you ❤️
Another awesome video Frank! Am always looking for ways to be a strategic thinker. I appreciate your commitment to help people live better lives. Have an amazing week!
It's just amazing how your video production skills have sky-rocketed since I first started watching your channel years ago. Congratulations on the awesome work, Tom!
I would really like to see him look at his early videos and talk about where he made changes and how he grew to get to the stage he’s at now. Because I think he has grown, like we all do to reach success, and him seeing his progress would be interesting
As a developer, it's nice to see the "what if" thinking model. It's something we must practice all the time as things never work the way you've intended.
The music in the background has too many beats which makes it difficult to hear your words, maybe lowering it's volume would be good. But great video!
This didn't bother me until you mentioned it, but now I agree.
Really distracting, I thought I had music playing in another tab. Captions ftw.
+1
Thanks for the feedback - the mix sounded fine on my editing headphones, but on normal headphones I agree. I need to start double-checking dialogue/music mixes on other devices!
@@Thomasfrank Great on you for taking your feedbacks positively! Great content!
Nice touch dressing like Garry Kasparov!
1- See things as they are Not as your emotions color them.
2- Depend on your own arms/mind.
3- Judge People by their actions and actions by their results.
4- Worship Athena not Ares (the goddess of strategic warfare vs. the god of vengeful war)
5- Elevate yourself above the battlefield. (Strategy vs. Tactics)
6- Learn about mental models, logical fallacies and cognitive biases.
Good Luck!
You're the best!
Thanks a lot on behalf of the rest 🙈
I've been a long time follower and subscriber for this channel, ever since my final year in sixth form at School. There are just a plethora of videos on here that are just extremely relatable to my life and I always try to implement at least something from one of your videos Thomas! The concept of thinking of strategically has always been my biggest aspiration, but finding a way to integrate with a machine mind has always been a challenge.
PS, thanks for the template; I've tried to build myself a similar one for years! Also I've downloaded Notion and I look forward to giving it a go!
Looking dapper as usual and thinking clearly too.
He always keep us motivated
Thank you frank
As soon as I saw strategic in the title I was thinking about the what-if question. I use it a lot and combine that with my process in Notion which again you shared towards the end. Every time I watch a video it is so nice to see what I am thinking is similar at least to your process. Still learn little bits here and there of course.
Waaaooooo. I have watching your videos of notion and productivity for a month now, and I swear....I am a fan of your's.
This was great! Everyone you meet in this world, knows something you do t know! Some open your mind!
im so glad this video came to me now. A year ago I would've skipped this. Def subscribing this is very valuable info!
I hit my block limit about a week ago or so! I was just about to give up on Notion but I'm really glad this change was implemented when it did. I'm excited to keep using it :)
Awesome video, as always. Thank you for keeping us sane and interested during quarantine.
I was actually just thinking of making a budget model in excel myself. That template will be really useful, thanks!
Too good and helpful for mental health.
Glad to watch this video.
I am Turkish, thanks to you I am learning English
Wow your videos is so aesthetically pleasing, both the studio and the cuts! Really good job, your new style is next level!
Let us all take a moment and appreciate the production quality of this channel. The shots, music, sound quality, and contents are all perfect! easily one of the best channel in RUclips.
Jeez, you watch one Magnus Carlsen match and all of your recommendations suddenly become all about chess and things related to it lol
Asian Assassin lol 😂
The best thing that happened to me this year is notion going free. That saved my productivity space for real!
I read your book 10 steps for... And it's awesome I started to digest all the info you described you deserve more than just likes and subscriptions
As a person that uses strategy and thinks ahead. there is a lot more than "what if" and a lot of this are done subconsciously, most people don''t talk about it because they don't realize it. But as you said, this "what if" can be simple or complex ( slightly off topic but I came back from this channel for more tips )
Believe or not, I actually found your channel because I was looking for some encouraging message on RUclips and I saw your video on how to bounce back from failure. That really helped me and I'll make sure to check out more of your content.
For some time that I've been using Excel to help me, not only track expenses, but to make predictions and analysis on purchases, investments and so on. It's really useful but, sometimes, it might get a bit too much and you loose track of everything.
The biggest challenge is to have all the information we need but not so many information that it makes our understanding of it too difficult. Great video!
Loved the video, but I gotta say: I've never been as happy/excited by an ad so much before
Really wanted to use notion, but it wasn't free, until I learnt it today
I downloaded notion and it has honestly been a game changer
Be forward-thinking. "You anticipate and look for opportunities that arise," Grubb said. ...
Seek input from others throughout the organization.
Have a long-term focus. ...
Be hands-off. ...
Be willing to take risks. ...
Prioritize your time. ...
Be nimble. ...
Be a life-long learner.

1:23 best scene of the video LOL.
Anywaay thank you SO MUCH for the budget modeler template !!
So grateful for this channel, bless you Thomas.
The most eye opening video of 2020 in my opinion!
Incredible content per usual. You're like me if I actually acted on all of the things I wanted to do. Thanks for the videos!
Love your channel Thomas! You’ve really inspired me to start my own. Keep up all your amazing content! 🌟💪🏼❤️
Shout out from Paraguay Frank!! It's always awesome to follow your advice 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Your content is getting better and better ... I am in love with your channel
I am into the idea of achieving more, master many things, and you've been my ideal inspration since ur channel was around 200k.
hopefully people would dig more to your stuff. Cheers from indonesia
Glad that Notion is now free for personal use!
Thomas, I would love it if you made video going into more detail about how to build such a spreadsheet. Much of it doesn't make sense to me as a UK citizen. But if you could detail how to go about building one, i.e. the series of considerations you had that gave rise to this behemoth - that would be a godsend I reckon.
Hell yes. Finally notion is free!!! I love you thomas :) keep the work up!! Greetings from germany
Thank you so much. Amazing♥️ loved it
Who else's day gets better when Thomas posts? :)
WOW!!! As always, I'm mindblown by this. I gotta say, your video editing skills are really very impressive and I feel that the quality has improved a lot!! Keep up the good work :)))
This was pretty interesting topic and was actually practising in my financial side of my life but I used to do the calculations by paper and not using excel, I'm going to go ahead and get better at excel so I can make my own version but for now I'll try out your template and also thanks for the notion going to check that out right now. Thank you again
This is insanely strategic and worth more implementing!
Thank you for providing this information.
I've been waiting a long time for a video with this exact title, Already dropped a like. Keep it up Tom!
Lmao “ if you wanna do that go ahead an do that because as always I’m not your dad” hilarious yet down to earth way of telling people your free to do whatever the heck you want but don’t say I didn’t offer the advice I love it. Awesome video Thomas thank you for the awesome information an humor at the moment end.
I do want to ask you something. Would or could you make a video on being strategic an tactical in gaming. I’m a big gamer and I would love to see advise on how to advise other to incorporate tactical an strategic thinking in games.
Thank again for your awesomeness!
Notion is like the best thing ever xD
I've been using it for over 4 months and I'll simply say, it's worth it.
Hearing Notion is free now makes my morning delightful
Great video! Love the setting & lighting. Keep it up!
This is so genius I can’t wait to try this out!!! I love your channel so much
Enjoyed this video. Thank you for the invaluable education!
So early. Thanks for your work Thomas!
Really interesting video! Thanks :)
love the effort you're putting into these videos
Can you do a follow-up video, please? I needed more details on the specifics, oh, and more examples.
I'm mind blown by the quality of this video.
Was just thinking about this when you posted this video. Talk about timing!
Hey Thomas! Love your videos and I think more people should see this one so here are my thoughts on it 1) simplifying the title to something like STRATEGIZE YOUR LIFE might attract more viewers 2) the thumbnail had all similar brownish colors, that’s why it didn’t catch my eye. Could be helpful to have more contrast/ more of a black and white scheme or so 3) I personally would love some key messages in text form and less b-roll clips. Just wanted to put my opinion out there in case you’re looking for feedback! Other than that, this video is so beautifully designed, amazing!
Thank you Thomas! wonderful video
Thanks I need this video.
Prduction value is so dope!
Addressing the chess intro trial and error based on risk taking by humans is not something computers do unless its learned by man. Computer credit is a under appreciated discredit of human thinking and growth neglect.Very informative and progressive with sequential purpose.
You are such a Chandler Bing. Inspired my channel Thomas. Keep it up! Love it
Probably one of the best compliments you can give someone
@@is1hair He deserves it
I really appreciate your book recommendations
Thank you for the template!
Small changes an bring revolutionary thought
Love your outfit! It’s all in the details!
Amazing video!
That’s cool and all but what’s your chess rating? 1V1 me bro 😂 great video Thomas!
Best strategic move of the video, the outfit.
Great video, Thomas.
Who else gets excited when they see the notification that Thomas has posted a video? 🙈
Thanks for this video
Great content, very thought provoking.
I was hoping you could make a video on "Starting Over" and how to tackle it. Like perhaps if you feel a dream has expired or a task does not seem doable the way you originally imagined. How would go from there?
Now i wanna try your uni What If Analysis Tool!
Thank you this is really helpful !
Hey Thomas Frank plz kindly do a vedio on study tips.......need it .
Should I learn by writing?
Should use highlighters?
Of this sort.
Have you watched his old videos? He has plenty of good vids on studying.
Good in teamwork
Great one
You have watched a 9 minutes video in 53 seconds, share with us your secrets!
1.) You are SOOOO fine. 2.) This outfit definitely enhances it. 3.) It would be awesome to delve into how to use strategy in ways that are less obvious than money. Like changes in career when there's no modeler or numerical systems to add or subtract like credits. I guess, how to use a what-if analysis and mental modeling or alternate forms of data in making big career/life decisions. I imagine Journaling could be one way to create mental models but it would be interesting to hear about alternative data sources. Thoughts?
Thanks. Nice insights (especially for me, as a coder where planning and doing are tighly coupled). But man that shirt seems tight :)
1 minute in and this is already beautiful
Hey man, thank you so much for sharing that budget modeler.
